Aizawa felt his eye twitch as he looked at the twenty students that were before him each dressed in black or some other dark color as they stood before. He could feel the tiredness seep into his bones as he looked at them all truly not knowing what to say as they stared at him silently waiting to see what he would do.
“You know..." Aizawa started getting the entire class to look at him with wide eyes. "When you asked me if I’d do anything for you, I didn’t think you were actually asking.” He said as he ran a hand down his face in annoyance his tired eyes searching each of his children's faces.
He honestly hadn't expected any of this but he knew he should have.
Aizawa let the earlier events of that morning play in his mind. Mina and Izuku had walked into the kitchen and sat down across from him. Aizawa knew they had wanted something and he knew that he would agree to it no matter how hard he tried to fight. They were his kids even if he wouldn't admit it out loud and he couldn't help but want to spoil his kids ever so slightly.
It took a few moments for them to finally speak but when they did, they asked him a question he hadn't been expecting. They had asked him if he would do anything for them and without missing a beat he had answered with the most honest voice he had ever heard himself use that "Of course, he would do anything for them. All of them." but this isn't what he had in mind.
“Does this change your answer?” Mina asked, from where she was standing next to Bakugou who already had a few scoops of dirt off to the side from where he had started digging.
Aizawa looked at his kids and let his eyes travel to all of them.
He first looked at Izuku who stood on the other side of Bakugou right next to Shoto a few shovels held in his hands as he watched the person they trusted the most in the world. He then let his eyes go to Mina who was still staring at him with her big pleading eyes begging him to help and Aizawa knew just from that look he was done for.
For a moment he looked at the two pairs of puppy dog eyes that belonged to Izuku and Mina before letting his eyes go to Momo who was standing behind the wagon she had created. In the said wagon was none other than the most hated in class Mineta who was tied completely up in Sero's tape struggling to get free with panicked eyes.
Aizawa knew it was wrong, he knew it was stupid and that this plan would never work because Mineta always managed to find a way to get free and survive but Aizawa knew he didn't care.
So with a deep breath and a shake of his head, he looked at his students once more.
“No," Aizawa answered honestly much like he had that morning two Mina and Izuku. "Hand me a shovel,” He ordered as he watched his students nod their heads as Izuku gave him one of the shovels he was still holding.
Aizawa knew it wasn't a very heroic thing to do but it was for his kids and that was all the reason he needed to go along with this plan.
