Summary
Steve and Eddie are close. The whole party knows that; it’s not a secret. But they’re close in the way they’re all close, right? The bonds of trauma, or something like that. They’re close like Steve and Robin are close, like Jonathan and Argyle are close, like Will and El are close.
Right?
Slowly, Will turns back around and peeks around the corner again.
Snippets of their conversation float over to him. Steve is adding chocolate chips to the batter and Eddie is leaning up against the counter next to him, one arm looped loosely around Steve’s waist, the other reaching into the bowl to steal chocolate chips and nibble on them.
Eddie rests his chin on Steve’s shoulder and hums. “Is this what it’s gonna be like when we have those six little Harringtons? You makin’ breakfast every morning?”
Or: Will wakes up early after a sleepover at the Harrington house. He sees something in the kitchen he wasn't meant to see, which prompts the realization that he might not be as alone as he thought.

Summary
This is no bathroom floor. There is no truth serum. This is that scrawny little kid they fought like hell to save, all those years ago, from the claws of the Upside Down, except he's not a little kid anymore. Steve was never close with Will, not least because he’s always butted heads with Jonathan, but shit. This takes guts. Guts he didn't know Will had. Guts he’s not sure he would have, if it came down to it.
So when Will says it, just like that, I don't like girls, in front of his family and his friends and his— his party, is what Henderson would have called it, Steve puts a hand on Robin's shoulder.

He’d been prescribed Benzodiazepines by his psychiatrist for sleep, and despite them not helping whatsoever to reduce the nightmares he continued to re-fill them for the few months they’d been in Lenora. Each night, he’d take his medication and try to sleep, each night he’d be back in the bathroom with the loopy feeling and killer headache. Some nights, he’d take more medication to knock himself out and some nights he’d spend cooped up in the bathroom, staring off into the distance fading in and out of consciousness. Sure – they’d left Hawkins, but he’d never forget the things he’d seen and gone through.
OR
Will can't sleep and 'accidentally' overdoses on his medication a week before he's scheduled to go to Hawkins for the winter break. When he gets there, he realizes just how much has changed.Ft: Byclair friendship and WillEl sibling dynamic
