Nightmares

Summary:

You had a nightmare, so you ask Denki if you can sleep in his room with him.

Work Text:

Nightmares weren't exactly a new thing for you.

Even before coming to UA, you'd had your fair share of nights waking up in a cold sweat.

Being a teenager in one of the top hero programs in the country certainly doesn't help though. It's hard to relax when you could quite literally be attacked at any moment.
Not to mention the fact that your class specifically was a magnet for villains.

So you weren't surprised when they began happening at the dorms

This particular night had been a rough one.

You weren't able to remember any specifics, but you'd awoken in a panic, heart racing as your eyes darted across the room for any possible sign of danger.

Upon finding no such sign, you took a deep breath. Your heart was still racing.

Looking at the clock on your bedside table you saw it was 3 AM, school started in a few hours but not in a short enough time to stay awake.

You knew you wouldn't be able to fall asleep again alone, so you gathered yourself before walking to your boyfriend's dorm.

"Hopefully he won't mind.." you whispered, knocking gently on the door before opening it and entering his dorm room.

"Hey, Denki..?"

"Mph.. thunderbolt?" the (still half asleep) blonde questioned, sitting up slightly upon hearing your voice.
"it's the middle of the night,-" a yawn "-watcha doin? you okay?"

"I- had a nightmare," you confessed quickly.
"I don't really wanna talk about it but.." you trailed off
"Do you think I could... maybe sleep in here? I really don't wanna be alone right now."

"Of course." he nodded, scooting to the side slightly before patting the bed beside him. "c'mon in," he muttered, his exhaustion still evident in his voice.

You did so without objection, crawling beside him and taking a deep breath. His arm draped across your side instinctively, pulling you closer to him.
"jus don hog all the covers..." he whispered to you, earning a chuckle before falling back asleep.

"I don't know what I'd do without you." You thought aloud in a whisper, staring at the ceiling of the dark room.

You fell asleep not long after, the sound of his breathing reminding you that there? In his arms?

You were safe
