Izuku stood excitedly in front of the camera, fixing the tripod so that it was pointing in the direction of his fiancé and his mother, who were sitting across from each other, idling talking amongst themselves.
Somehow, he had managed to convince his very private, very shy mother to film a Youtube video with him and Shoto, though he would hardly be playing a part in the actual video. He found that whenever he was behind the scenes of a video, he had the most fun, and Izuku was convinced that would also be the case for this particular video.
Izuku exclaimed under his breath, finally getting the tripod centered, and pressed record immediately before he could accidentally knock it sideways in his clumsiness.
“Alright! I pressed record, we’re starting now!” Izuku smiled, catching the attention of both his fiancé and his mother. “I’ll do the intro, and then I’ll explain the rules of the game, okay?”
Shoto nodded silently while his mother shot him an enthusiastic thumbs up. Izuku, pleased with their respective answers, turned his back to them to face the camera lense.
“Hello everyone, and welcome back to my channel!” Izuku grinned. “Today I’m joined with a very special guest…” He quickly moved away from the viewfinder so that his mother was in frame. “My mom!”
Shoto offered his own monotonous yay which had him biting back a laugh.
His mother floundered nervously, her face turning a soft shade of red at the sudden abundance of attention. “Hello.” She waved, her plump cheeks protruding as she smiled.
Izuku turned back to the camera. “And, we’re also joined by Shoto— but you already know him.” He waved teasingly, which earned him a scoff from the aforementioned man.
“Am I not worthy of an introduction?” Shoto played along. Izuku snorted, and quickly walked up behind the man’s chair, wrapping his arms around his neck and hugging his head to his chest.
“This is my lovely fiancé, Shoto, who you’ve all met before, I’m sure.” Izuku teased, getting a light pinch to the side because of it. He stayed with his arms wrapped around Shoto as he continued on with his introduction.
“Today, we have another game we’re going to play, except this game involves lots of alcohol and very personal questions!” Izuku cheered, a bit sarcastically. Shoto and alcohol did not mix very well. “The premise of this game is simple. Shoto and my mom will both have to pick from a deck of cards of extremely personal questions. Either of them can refuse to answer— but , as punishment, they’ll have to take a shot of… what was it you bought again?” Izuku trailed off, ducking his head to mutter his question into Shoto’s ear.
“Vodka.” The man answered immediately, not bothering to lower his voice in the slightest.
Izuku balked. “Vodka?! I thought I told you to buy sake?” He spluttered.
Shoto hummed. “Something told me I would need something a lot stronger than sake to film this video.”
Izuku couldn’t help but snort. “Shoto…” He trailed off fondly. He turned back to the camera with a nervous smile. “They’ll have to take a shot of vodka.”
After giving a better explanation of the game to his poor mother, Izuku went to grab the game from his and Shoto’s bedroom, and got to work setting up everything on the tabletop. Once everything was in its rightful place, Izuku turned back to the camera with a giddy smile.
“Okay. I’m going to step out of the room and leave the rest of it up to them. See you guys in a while.” Izuku drew out teasingly, walking backwards towards the door of his bedroom before grabbing onto its doorknob and swinging it shut dramatically.
He was excited to see how things would turn out. Shoto and his mother together were… quite the pair.
“Okay,” Shoto huffed once Izuku was out of sight. “Let’s start, shall we?”
Inko nodded excitedly. “We shall, Shoto-kun!”
Shoto smiled ruefully, already having an inkling of what the questions would be. He may or may not have peeked at some of the cards beforehand. “Alright, I’ll go first.” He sighed, reaching for the deck of cards sitting in between them.
He read the question aloud without hesitation. “Do you think I take good enough care of your son?”
Inko nodded immediately. “Oh— of course! Without you, Izuku would probably be spending all his time in a hospital bed.” The woman sighed wearily while Shoto couldn’t help but snort.
“Okay, let’s see...” Inko trailed off after picking one of the cards from the deck and bringing it up to her face to read for the camera and Shoto to hear. “What don’t I know about my son that you do?”
Shoto was stumped for a moment. Those two knew practically everything about each other. “I don’t… really know.” He trailed off, and then let out a soft exclamation when something came to mind. “He laughs in his sleep, did you know that?”
Inko spluttered. “He laughs in his sleep?” She giggled incredulously. “I had no idea. Oh my, that must be awful for you.”
Shoto snorted. “No, not really. It was kind of scary at first though.”
The woman hummed, a smile still present on her face. “Naturally.”
Shoto smiled alongside her, pleasantly surprised at the lack of alcohol he’d consumed so far. Maybe he’d gotten lucky with these easy questions.
Shoto grabbed a card and repeated the process of the two other instances. “What do you think is my worst habit?” The end of his sentence lilted with nerves. He absolutely did not want to hear the answer to this.
Inko hummed thoughtfully. The fact that she was thinking about it made him even more anxious. Did he have a bad habit? “Well, I wouldn’t call it a bad habit, but you worry about Izuku more than I do sometimes. Though, at the same time, that boy needs to be worried about constantly.”
Shoto, shocked at the positive answer, nodded in agreement. Izuku was a walking disaster most days, constantly tripping over air.
“Have you— oh, this is a sad question.” Inko frowned, though continued reading. “Have you ever cheated on my son? If not, have you ever come close?”
“Absolutely not.” Shoto offered immediately, completely offended. “Your son means the world to me.”
Inko beamed. “Well, I’m glad.”
“Next question,” Shoto said, lifting a card up to his face. “Did you like any of your son's exes more than me?”
The woman shook her head instantly. “Definitely not. You beat the rest by miles.” She replied. Shoto tried not to let it get to his head that he was, in fact, the best partner Izuku’s ever had.
“Oh my.” Inko chortled as she read the next question silently to herself.
Shoto blinked, suddenly nervous. “What?”
She put the card down face flat onto the table, and looked directly into Shoto’s eyes before asking, “Have you two ever had sex in my house?”
Shoto, completely and utterly mortified at the word sex coming from his mother-in-law’s mouth, flushed a bright crimson red and immediately reached for the vodka. He knew it’d come in handy.
Inko gasped, scandalized. “You’ve had sex in my house?!”
Shoto refused to answer, instead filling his shot glass to the rim and tilting his head backwards as the burn of the vodka slid down his throat.
“Oh, you two are in so much trouble.”
“Next question!” Shoto cut in, desperate to get the attention off of his and Izuku’s sex life. “Was there ever a time where you wished we would break up?”
“Oh heavens no. I knew you were the one for Izuku the moment I met you.” Inko answered honestly, and it did nothing to help Shoto’s blush.
Inko giggled at the next question. “What do you find most sexy about my son?”
Shoto huffed an embarrassed laugh. He didn’t need the alcohol for this. “His arms, maybe. He’s very strong.”
“He is very muscular.” Inko nodded along.
“This is the second to last question, thank the Gods.” Shoto sighed heavily as Inko laughed, though not unkindly. “Do you think me and your son will last?”
“Of course.” The woman smiled. “You’re a kind and understanding person. And I’m really, so happy you and Izuku both found each other.”
Shoto smiled sheepishly, feeling his cheeks tingle with heat again. While he had known Inko liked him before, he never knew to what extent. It was amazing to hear that she approved so much of him and Izuku’s relationship. Shoto respected Inko greatly, and to be in her good graces was something he’d always wanted since he’d first met her all those years ago.
“Last question of the game…” Inko trailed off. “Were you a virgin when you met my son?”
Shoto choked, receiving whiplash at the sudden subject change of the questions. Though, he didn’t need alcohol to answer this either.
“I was.”
Izuku could hardly breathe with all the laughing he was doing, editing the video while in bed, Shoto at his side.
“Is it really that funny?” The man grumbled, gently elbowing Izuku in the ribs.
“Th-This is— look at your face!” Izuku snorted, pointing at his laptop screen and leaning sideways into his fiancé’s body, lost in his pleasure at poking fun at the embarrassed face Shoto was making on his screen.
“It’s really not that funny.” Shoto frowned, shoving his fiancé off of him, petty and unamused.
The video, in Izuku’s opinion, turned out amazingly. Sticking his mother and Shoto in the same room proved to be quality entertainment.
He leaned up to peck his fiancé’s cheek, the scowl on his face easing a bit.
“I love you.” Izuku whispered, muffling the words into Shoto’s skin.
The man huffed. “I love you more.”
“And I also can’t wait for everyone to see the look on your face during this part—!”
“ Izuku! ”
