Work Text:
’Cause I’ve never felt like this before
I’m naked around you
Does it show? You see right through me and I can’t hide
I’m naked around you
And it feels so right
Avril Lavigne, Naked
Vulnerable:
I am nothing
A disgraceful creature
Cowering in fear
Yet protected:
I am everything
Safe
Warm
Guarded
What is this
World where
I reside?
Disturbed
Fantastical
Bizarre
I am captive,
Wandering
Aimlessly
In my
Erratic perverse mind
Surrounded
By the
Surreal…
These are my dreams:
Not
Hopes
Ambitions
Objectives
But rather
Delusions
Horrors
Nightmares
I run from the world
And from my
Fears
And
Failures
I see them
When I gaze into
The looking glass:
Eyes
Wide with
Shock
Face
Flushed with
Shame
Body
Stripped of
Cover
Threatened and alone,
I search for shelter…
I find him:
My protector
The man who always
Stayed
Taught
Loved
And never judged
Yet how can I
Show my face
And my body
To anyone,
Let alone
Him?
To be completely
Open
Exposed
Defenseless
After all
He's already seen:
My sin
My hate
My pain?
Broken, I fall
Face down
On the
Ground.
I am shamed,
But my protector stays.
He will not
Leave me
When I
Need him!
His sturdy arms
Wrap tight
Around my
Feeble trunk
His torrid chest
Presses close
Against my
Icy back
Locked in an embrace,
His clothes
Warm
Wooly
Comfort me,
Swathing like a
Fleece blanket
Around my
Bare skin…
Ages pass
(Or so it feels)
But in an instant
My perfect point
Fades away:
I awake,
Alone
Bitter
Cold
Drifting through
The next days in
A dreamlike trance,
Filled with anguish:
My protector is not
Mine!
My clothes cage my
Stripped
Bleeding
Heart!
Yet when our eyes meet
For a few
Fleeting
Seconds
I can still feel his grasp
Around my naked body,
Clutching me close
Steadfast
Unyielding
His presence lingers on
My skin,
My body still waiting
(And pleading)
For his return…
