Work Text:
Lin was rushing through the corridors of Air Temple Island as she was trying to find Kya. The waterbender was giving her treatment at the hospital a few weeks back and since the injury took her out of work for a while, she needed some paperwork to justify the days off. Kya being a person that forgets about everything didn't leave the paperwork at the hospital and made her get over to the Air Temple Island for it.
„Lin! Lin!” the metalbender heard someone call her name. She turned around only to see Bumi running towards her.
„What is it?” Lin asked, her tone coming out harsher than she anticipated.
„Kya wanted me to tell you that she's waiting in her room for you,” Bumi panted after he stopped next to the earthbender.
„Thanks” Lin mumbled and started walking towards Kya's room.
Soon, Lin was knocking at the door to the waterbender's room.
„Who is it?!” a voice from the inside called.
„Lin”
„Get in, I'm in the bathroom!”
Lin walked in and directed herself to the on-suit bathroom of Kya's. She expected the waterbender to maybe do her hair or put on makeup but seeing her covered with bubbly foam in the bathtub definitely wasn't a sight she predicted to be met with.
„Oh, hi” Lin greeted, her voice weirdly small. She felt her cheeks warm up.
„Hello” Kya smiled, not noticing or just not addressing the sudden shyness of the Chief. She was holding a book in her hand and placed a bookmark in it before putting it aside.
There was a moment of awkward silence when Lin was internally cursing herself for being so flustered over Kya in the bathtub, she was covered with the foam, there was no need for Lin to be so stressed out. All of her focus was going as well to not allowing her eyes to drop lower, wondering how Kya looks under the thick white bubbles.
„You're here for the paperwork, right?” Kya asked, breaking the silence.
„Paperwork?” Lin raised an eyebrow, completely forgetting every information that was in her brain ever.
„The one for your rib? The one you yelled at me for not having it ready earlier today?” the waterbender reminded, confused about the sudden change in Lin's usual put-together manner.
„Right” Lin's eyes dropped onto the floor. „Sorry about that” she mumbled.
„It's alright. I'm the one that cannot do this part of my job” Kya chuckled. „It's... Fuck, it's going to be hard to explain. I'll just get it for you” she started lifting herself out of the water, the liquid dripping down her body.
Lin wanted to turn around, she really did but the sight of the water running from Kya's big breasts through her stomach and waist that was beautifully curved down to her legs was hypnotizing. The metalbender followed each droplet that traveled down the older woman's gorgeous body, wishing her lips or her hands could be one of those droplets-
What in the world was she doing? Kya is Tenzin's sister! She couldn't-
„Hello? Earth to Lin!” Kya called, causing Lin to snap back to reality. „Will you hand me over that towel?” she asked.
Lin shook her head and looked around. She noticed a light blue towel on the sink and handed it to the waterbender. Her cheeks felt like they were burning, lit up by a firebender during Sozin's Comet's appearance.
Kya made a quick job of drying her feet before she wrapped the towel around herself and walked to her room. Lin followed her, cursing herself for wishing to check out Kya's butt.
The waterbender rummaged through a few drawers and then she handed a folder to Lin whose face was still glowing red.
„Here you go. Don't need to stress out about your paperwork anymore” Kya chuckled and Lin smirked in response. „How's your rib by the way?” she asked.
„It's fine” Lin shrugged.
„Sharing the details as always, I see” Kya smiled. „Mind if I check it?”
„I'm kind of in a rush...”
„You're finished for today. You told me you'll be here after work” Kya pointed out, a victorious expression pushing itself onto her face.
„Alright, you got me” Lin lifted her arms in defeat.
„Ok, so one second. I'll get dressed and you can take off your armor in the meantime”
Lin nodded and turned away to bend the metal armor off of her body. Her rib giving out a little bit during the process. The pain wasn't bearable but she'd appreciate it being gone after Kya would work on her.
Once Lin was facing Kya again, the waterbender was pulling up her dress onto her body, Lin couldn't help but notice that Kya didn't wear a bra...
And she was staring at her breasts again, wonderful...
„Alright, get over here” Kya reached for the water pouch that was laying on one of the dressers. Soon, Lin was standing beside her, the metalbender's face still flushed.
Kya bent in her waist, curling the side of Lin's tank top up, her slender fingers touching the soft skin of the earthbender, sending chills all over Lin. She bent some water to her hand and placed it over Lin's side as it started to glow.
After a short while, Kya bent the water back to her pouch and straightened her posture, noticing she was standing slightly closer to Lin than she thought.
Have Lin always had those barely noticeable freckles on her cheeks?
Without moving an inch Kya started speaking. „There was still a little fracture but I fixed it. I'm pretty sure you got hit there after the last time I healed you because it- Is there a reason you’re blushing like that?” she finally pointed out.
„I- I'm not blushing!” Lin protested.
„You are, ever since you came in here”
„I'm not!”
„Wanna tell me why?” Kya crooked an eyebrow, her face now inches away from Lin's.
„There's no reason behind something that's not happening” Lin crossed her arms causing Kya to back away slightly.
„So you weren't gawking at me earlier?”
„I- no!” Lin protested again.
„Too bad. I was actually happy about it” Kya pouted.
„You were?” the earthbender let her arms fall to her sides in shock.
„So you were staring!” Kya was now the one with her arms crossed.
„I- you know what? I think I should go” Lin backed away and started bending her armor on.
Kya leaned back on the wall with her arms crossed as the metalbender put her armor on, watching her each move and wishing that whatever she saw earlier was true because Lin could put all of that muscles to good use.
Lin headed towards the door after she grabbed the file Kya gave her earlier.
„Coward,” the waterbender said just as Lin was about to leave, stopping the younger woman in her tracks.
„What?”
„You're a coward. We got close to... something and now you're running away” Kya chuckled. „I don't know what else did I expect” she mumbled.
„I don't even know what you mean”
„You do” Kya pushed off of the wall and was now standing inches from Lin again. „The question is, what will you do about it?”
Lin chuckled at how ridiculous was what she was about to do and pressed her smile over Kya's lips, finally closing the gap between them in a soft, shy kiss that didn't last very long.
„Happy?” Lin raised an eyebrow.
„Mhm,” Kya hummed as she brought Lin's face closer for another kiss. „Very much”
