Chapter Text
Schmoo glanced at himself in the castle's large hallway mirror. Carefully parting his hair over and over, smucking it down and to the side. He didn't want to be late but he couldn't help but stall. It wasn't every day he wore a suit…
Well, he did wear his Bog Water uniform.
But it wasn't every day he wore a suit this nice.
Well, he added his favorite tie for ‘Dramatic Effect.’
He was lucky enough to have Mavis specifically tailor it for him, just for this special occasion.
Even though she criticized his ‘No more Lies’ tie.
-But what did she know?
They had all been invited to King Atlas’s Castle for ‘The Romans Dance’.
Schmoo didnt know what the fuck that ment, nor did he really care. What he did know is that Atlas had invited him, and this would be the night he finally had the courage to ask The King for a dance.
“So are we going to the fucking event? Or are you just gonna stare at yourself nervously all night?”
Schmoo glared at Mavis as her harsh words broke his thoughts.
Mavis grimaced, as her silk black dress creased while she crouched on the floor, attempting to tie Jaak’s shoelaces for the sixth time that night.
“Jaak, please for the love of god. Just let me double knot them.” She begged.
It hadn't even been fifteen minutes into the night and Mavis was growing tired of the boy’s pickiness. He had nearly tripped on the way there, causing the three of them to make frequent stops beforehand.
Jaak shook his head indignantly.
“Nun-uh.” He crossed his arms. “I wanna be just wlike Schmoo, and he doesn't have his shwoes double knotted.” He pointed down at the leather slippers on Schmoo’s feet.
Mavis let out a groan, stopping herself from rubbing her eyes before she could ruin her makeup.
Schmoo shot Mavis a sympathetic look, chuckling at the dilemma before leaning down and double knotting his shoes in front of Jaak. His ‘No Bitches’ Socks revealing themselves.
“Well now what are you gonna do, you big baby?” Schmoo flashed his teeth in triumph.
Jaak stared in awe for a few moments before sighing.
“Fine.” He pouted, stamping his foot onto the luxurious carpet.
Mavis breathed a sigh of relief as she finished tying the child's shoes.
“Next time, you’re wearing velcro.”
