Chapter Text
Catra didn’t know what to think. There in her hands was near living proof of her love for Adora. The two of them had been trying for the last few months and part of Catra thought that this would only be another negative result. But there in her hands was a positive pregnancy test. They were having a baby.
Catra sat down the test on the vanity counter before she ran through the house searching fr her wife but couldn't find her.
“Fuck that’s right, she’s in Brightmoon for a meeting.” She said to herself. She was mildly disappointed that Adora couldn’t share this moment with her, celebrating their addition to the family.
She couldn’t wait to tell Glimmer and Bow either. A couple years back Catra drunkenly told them that if Adora and her ever had a child they would be the godparents as well as their aunt and uncle. Bow and Glimmer practically killed her then and there out of sheer excitement of the mere prospect of it. She was sure that their child would be well loved and cared for, and she would do everything in her power to give their child the childhood she never had.
Although there wasn't a bump she stroked her stomach while thinking of the life they would have.
Catra pulled out her phone, about to text Adora the good news when suddenly she had an idea. She would get Adora flowers and maybe some cake for the two of them to share to celebrate! It would be perfect. She checked the time and if she left right now she could make it to the grocery store and back by the time Adora arrived.
Catra went into the kitchen and grabbed her keys as well as a pink piece of paper and a pen. Quickly and with slightly messy handwriting she wrote Adora a little message and placed it on the dining table.
She got into her car and drove to the grocery store as fast as she could while abiding by the speed limit. She went inside and grabbed the nicest flowers she could find and grabbed a small chocolate cake for Adora and herself. She was tempted to get a little baby outfit but ultimately didn’t, deciding that the two of them should do that together.
She brought her items to a self checkout and paid before bagging her flowers and small cake. She didn't bother to check the pricing, deeming the occasion too special to care. She got in her car before putting her stuff in the passenger seat and driving off.
As she drove she felt a vibration coming from her phone and pulled it out to see who could be texting her right now. She felt her eyes and smile grow big as she saw Adora had asked what was the plan for that night. Not paying attention to the task at hand she responded back
“You’ll see when you get home :)”
as she hit send and focused back on the road she quickly realized she drifted into the opposite lane with a car approaching rapidly. Before she could react everything went black.
