Chapter Text
Will is in so much pain, he can't take what he's going through anymore. Every single day he goes through shit, he gets ignored, nobody plays D&D with him anymore, nobody to talk to, he thought everything was going to be okay after Vecna died, but no. The group wasn't Will, Mike, Dustin, Eleven, Lucas anymore. Instead it was Mike, Dustin, Lucas, Eleven, Max, and Eddie. He tried to get them to play with him, he tried to plan events where they played with each other but each time, they would always end up canceling.
Everyone except Joyce, Jonathan, and Mike forgot his birthday. But Jonathan just gave a quick happy birthday and so did Mike. As for Joyce, she was on a business trip so she was only able to face time for 5 minutes. They apologized the day after, and all Will could give was a nod and a smile.
It was a rainy day, a sad and rainy day. Will hadn't talked to his friends as much as he used to. He didn't try to get in conversations anymore, he simply just sat on the table while they were on the couch. 'Wow.' He thought. The brunette chuckled and left from the backyard into his own space in the forest. The leaves under his shoes crunched as he walked passed them, he heard a couple birds chirping but it went silent, and he stared at the poorly made wooden house and sighed. "I really should take this down." He said with a smile. "Yeah. I'm taking this down, I'm going to end the friendship anyways."
There was a bat in the wooden house, Will took it and he sharpened it a little against a tree. He looked at the pictures inside the house cheerlessly and ripped then apart before crumbling the pieces. Will ruined everything inside of the house and started trashing the place. Tears blinded his eyes as he continued to crash the place until nothing was standing.
"Fuck, I hate this. I hate them. I can't take this anymore." He cried out hoarsely, "Am I a ghost to them or something? Am I not their friends anymore?" He started yelling, Will's sadness turned into anger. And he decided this was it.
He wiped his nose and went back quickly to the house. "Guys." He called in a sharp tone. They continued to talk and laugh, something about rumors at school. "GUYS!" He yelled this time, conversation going completely silent. "God, you all are getting on my last nerves. Am I a ghost to you all? Why do I keep getting silent treatment? Why don't you guys ever talk with me anymore?" He started asking. Mike suddenly interrupted him rudely. "Will, what the hell are you talking about?" He stood up, Michael looked at William like he was crazy.
"Well, Will. Maybe you should have actually talked more and maybe we would be talking with you more, ever thought of that?"
"I've been trying and trying and trying, I just give up at this fucking point!"
"How have you been trying? Name a couple times where you weren't quiet and actually trying to start a conversation or even join one!"
"2 weeks ago, I planned to go to the movies with you guys. I got enough money to buy tickets for all 7 of us. 3 weeks ago, I asked you guys if we could go to the arcade, 4 weeks ago I was trying to get you guys to go to the movies again, 5 weeks ago I thought maybe the ma-"
"Hey, man. Look, we're so sorry but I don't re-" Lucas joined in, trying to apologize.
"NO! I don't want any apologies, because everytime I forgive you guys you continue to do it."
They went quiet. "I think it's time I end my friendship with you all. You guys are the kindest, the most fun, and the most interesting friends I've ever had but...I just don't fit in anymore." He said the last few words in a lower volume. Eleven looked at Will and gave him an apologetic expression, but he ignored it. "So would you guys be as kind enough as to LEAVE my house?!" He shouted again.
Mike sighed. "Fine then. We'll be leaving. I can't believe I became friends with you. Worst. Mistake. Ever." He looked at him with eyes of disgust and hatred, and Will's heart stopped for a second hearing that. "Come on guys, let's go." Mike gestured.
"Mike, wait...He's right." Eddie spoke up. Eleven stood beside Eddie, "Yeah, I haven't been here for long but even I wouldn't cancel or dump him like that. " The brunette only got angrier hearing this. "All of you, OUT THE HOUSE RIGHT NOW!" William demanded this time. They quietly left and Eddie gave a quiet sorry before gently closing the door. Will locked it right after and started crying on the floor. 'How could I make Mike hate me? Why am I making Mike hate me? All I wanted was to have fun. Am I not a fun person anymore?' He kept thinking, his nose was red and he was once again blinded by his tears.
"I don't get it, why is he acting like this?!" Mike yelled, walking around the couch as Dustin, Lucas, and Max sat on it. Eddie was looking for a snack in Dustin's pantry and found KitKat to eat. He really did feel bad, and he stared at the KitKat and decided to put it back because he thought he would look careless. The curlyhead sighed and went back to his own chair. "Mike, please. Let's be honest here, we're all in the wrong!" Lucas interrupted. "Will was right, I can't believe that I didn't even notice him this entire time."
"Oh really, well I can't believe that we all didn't notice him this entire time! and for EIGHT WEEKS STRAIGHT!" Eddie shouted, Eleven was trying to calm down Mike but it didn't seem to be working. "How the hell are we supposed to make up for this?" Mike whispered, he suddenly stopped in his tracks. "Will, what if he leaves this town after this? What if he leaves the school? Why did I say all these things? Why didn't I say sorry? Why was I so defensive?"
"CALM DOWN DAMN IT!" Dustin suddenly yelled. "Gosh, Mike. You're so irritating, Will was right. So instead of questioning yourself until you actually turn yourself into the victim here, why don't you actually try to figure out a way to solve this like what we're doing?" He got softer and quieter. "Is that why you guys are so quiet?"
"No, we're quiet because we want to play D&D!"
"You're being sarcastic."
"Yeah."
The room went silent again, quite a long time. Suddenly, Eleven stood up. "I'm going to go back to Will." She said, "You're kidding, right El?" Lucas looked at her crazy. "I know he is mad but I just need to tell him something." The group tried convincing her not to except for Mike, he was in very deep thought and was regretting every single word he said to Will. He couldn't believe it, acting like this towards his best friend...well now, ex-best friend.
Eleven left and shut the door, immediately running to find Will. It was still raining and gloomy, melancholy filled the air intensely and Eleven wasn't so sure of what she was going to do when she got Will's attention. El knocked lightly but got no response, knocked one more time before checking the window, and before she was going to knock a third time she heard a laugh.
"WILL!" Eleven shouted, knocking on the door again. This time, William answered and his face was the biggest mess Eleven has ever seen. "Eleven, are you deaf?" He asked, raising his eyebrow. "William, I am so sorry. I haven't been able to communicate with everyone recently because of school tutoring, but if I could then I really would go to the movies with you and every other place." She explained on and on and William looked down. "Leave." He finally said. "What?" She replied. "I said to LEAVE THE DAMN HOUSE, DON'T YOU GET IT? I HATE ALL OF YOU AND YOUR EXCUSES ARE MAKING ME DESPISE YOU ALL MORE!" He slammed the door shut on her face, and the gust of wind attacked her.
Will went to his room and locked it, he spent the rest of the day sleeping. But in his dreams, something a little frightening...maybe more than a little, had come across in his sleep.
"Will."
"Will."
"Join me, Will."
"Who are you?" He asked, he looked around and was surrounded in black.
"You don't remember me?"
Will became terrified, he felt a presence behind him but there was nobody.
"I, am Vecna."
