Ahsoka slammed the ship’s trunk shut after shoving an assortment of fluffy towels, bottles of various drinks, and a change of clothes into it.
She wiped the sweat off her forehead, the summer on Coruscant was brutal. There wasn’t much shade the the city’s infrastructure wasn’t built to accommodate sweltering heat.
Ahsoka and Padme stood on the landing platform besides The Twilight, waiting for Anakin and Obi Wan.
“What’s taking them so long…” Ahsoka groaned. She was already in her swimsuit, a solid black one piece, and she had a pair of loose board shorts on as a cover up. Dark sunglasses shielded her eyes.
“You know Anakin’s always running late.” Padme sighed. A wide brimmed hat shaded her face, “And Master Kenobi is probably still packing all his stuff.”
“You guys got ready so fast.” Anakin laughed as he walked towards the ship, his hand held the folded chairs floating behind him with the force.
“Obi Wan is still inside.” Anakin opened the hatch, “He said looking for his sunscreen.”
“Speaking of that, you are not going to be outside all day without any, especially on your face.” Padme rummaged through her bag for the bottle sunscreen, “Here put this on, you too Ahsoka.”
Padme hauled the chairs on board while Anakin and Ahsoka took turns squeezing the bottle of sunscreen.
“Snips, did you pack a hat?”
“Yes Master…”
“Hey I’m just making sure, remember last time…”
She rolled her eyes, “Yes I do-“ Ahsoka made sure to pack a hat so she wouldn’t get a burn on her montrals and lekku like last trip.
“I suppose you all are ready to go?” Obi Wan clutched a bag full of various snacks and had another pack slung over his shoulder. He had his light-brown hair pulled back into a bun.
“Right lets pack it up.” Anakin motioned for Obi Wan and Ahsoka to get on the ship. They were headed to Spira, a tropical planet with bright blue beaches, rolling green mountains, and palm trees stretching to the sky.
Ahsoka nodded, she was giddy with excitement, ready to escape the heat. She ran aboard and a wave of cold air hit her face.
Padme had already settled in her seat, basking in the Twilight’s air conditioning.
Anakin pecked a kiss on Padmé’s cheek before adjusting himself into the cockpit. Ahsoka sat down next to Padmé, she rested her head on her shoulder.
“Guess you’re copiloting today Master.” Obi Wan dropped his stuff, and sat down in the seat adjacent to Anakin.
“Looks like it,” Obi wan turned back to Ahsoka and Padme, “You all got everything?”
“Yes.” The three of them chimed.
“Alright let’s go let’s go!” Ahsoka grinned.
“Patience Snips.”

The wind pushed Ahsoka’s lekku as she yanked her shorts off.
“We aren’t even on the beach yet Ahsoka.” Obi Wan laughed, his voice firm.
Grabbing Ahsoka’s hand he held her back with the group before she could run off into the waves.
A breeze rustled the trees and the cawing of sea birds sounded in the distance.
“Hold on Ahsoka, I gotta help Padme set up the tent. Then we can go in.”
Padme placed her hand on Anakin’s chest, “I got it Ani.”
“You sure?”
“Yes I am sure, now go have fun.”
Anakin carried the bags and chairs to the spot Padme picked out on the beach, setting them down for Obi Wan to situate. He took his loose t-shirt off, revealing his muscular physique adorned with scattered freckles and scars.
Swimming was never something he grew up doing, and although he could do it now, the part of going to the beach that cut open old wounds was the feeling sand between his toes and it sticking to his legs. He winced. It was never the sand itself, just the memories that came with it. He inhaled deeply, the scent of the salt water filled his senses.
“You alright Master?” Ahsoka questioned.
“Yeah im alright… just thinking.” He crossed his arm over the other stretching out the tightness in his muscles from training, “You wanted to go swimming? Let’s go.”
“Race you?”
Anakin bolted towards the water.
“HEY- I didn’t say go yet!”
“Too late!!” Anakin shouted. The sound of waves crashing roared in her ears.
The sharp coldness of the water was electrifying as she ran in after Anakin. Using the force, Ahsoka swirled a ball of water together, hurling it at him.
“What kind of move was that!?” Anakin shook his head, shaking the water from his curls.
Ahsoka laughed loudly. Before she could say anything else, Anakin scooped her up, throwing her over his shoulder.
“ANAKIN!! PUT ME DOWN!” Ahsoka dissolved into laughter again. A snarky grin was splayed across his face as he sprinted deeper into the water.
“You want to go down?”
“YES-,” Ahsoka repeatedly punched Anakin on the back.
Anakin’s hands switched to her waist, pulling her off his shoulder before
throwing her into the ocean.
She crashed into the water, pinching her nose closed as she went under.
Floating back up, Ahsoka treaded in the water that was now too deep for her to stand, “Okay now what was that!!”
“Payback.” Anakin raised his eyebrows.
Ahsoka rolled her eyes.
Meanwhile Padme and Obi Wan laid under the tent that ruffled in the breeze.
Padme flipped through a book while Obi wan organized the snacks and towels he brought.
“Ahsoka’s bag is here…. Anakin’s I put next to yours… Wait hold on.” Obi Wan paused, pushing his sunglasses up onto his head. He tapped Padme’s shoulder.
“Obi Wan im trying to read, what is it?”
“Where’s Anakin’s arm?”
“He didn’t take it off?”
“Its not over here so, no, perhaps not.” Obi Wan declared.
Padme squinted, staring at Ahsoka and Anakin throwing each other around in the water.
Obi wan placed his palm across his face and sighed.
“I’ll go get him…” Padme sat up from the striped towel she laid on. She untied the cover-up she wore and slid a bookmark into the page she was reading.
She wore a pale blue two piece, the top was made of two triangles of fabric with a silver ring in the center holding it together. The bottoms were the same color, but had two of the rings on either side. Padme stood at the edge of tide, hands on her hips.
“You got seaweed on me!” Ahsoka snapped.
“I did not! You went the under water I-“
Anakin froze, noticing Padme staring at both of them. Padme glanced down at Anakin’s metal arm, which dripped with salt water.
Kriff, he thought.
“Ani you forgot to take off your arm.”
Ahsoka giggled.
“Not funny Snips..” He rolled his eyes.
“Im sure we’ll have rice at home to dry it off.” Ahsoka nudged him with her elbow.
“Okay but just take it off now so it doesn’t get even more damaged. You know how Obi Wan gets about these things.”
“I know,” Anakin waded out of the water, pressing a kiss to Padme’s forehead before walking back to the tent.
Anakin turned back, giving Padme a look as if to say ‘are you coming?’
“Im going to swim with ‘Soka for a bit.”
He nodded, working on unattaching his prosthetic arm.
“Sorry Master,” Anakin handed Obi Wan the arm.
“Don’t worry about it, I’m sure it’ll be alright.”
“You sure? The joints were feeling a bit stiff…”
“Yes Anakin.” He placed his hand on his shoulder, reassuring him.
Anakin picked up a towel, the blue and pink fabric felt rough on his skin as he dried himself off.
“You guys looked like you were having fun out there.”
“You want to go in with us?”
“Oh no, im good here, I just washed my hair anyways.”
Anakin ran his hand through Obi Wan’s hair disheveling his blond-ginger locks.
“Oh come onnnn, the waters nice-“
“Maybe later, when the sun is down more.”
“Okay okay..” Anakin smiled, leaning back on one of the chairs.
The warmth of Spira’s sun was like a downy blanket, encasing him. The briny scent of the ocean and rhythmic churning of waves lulled him into a nap until a togruta shaped shadow loomed over him, blocking the sun.
“Snips..?” He groaned, flipping up Padme’s brimmed hat that covered his face.
“You coming back in Skyguy?”
“Only if Obi Wan does,” He held Ahsoka’s hand as she helped him up.
Ahsoka eyed Obi Wan, her arms crossed.
“Alright you two, ill get in, just no splashing!”
“Fine Master…” They both sighed. Both running back to Padme who now was collecting rocks and shells from the damp sand. She jingled the handful of sandy treasures in her palm.
“Master Obi Wan’s actually going in the water?” Padme gasped sarcastically.
“On the condition of no splashing.” Ahsoka told her.
“Yes precisely.” Obi Wan re-tied his hair up into a tight bun.
Anakin’s eyes creased as he laughed, he patted Obi Wan on the back and Ahsoka tugged on Obi Wan’s hand pulling him into the waves.
“Come on!”
“Im coming, im coming, just getting used to the cold.” Obi Wan tensed up.
Padme rinsed the sand off shells she had picked from the shore and watched as the three Jedi played in the ocean.
The sky was a pale blue as it had been all day, but it now flushed a gentle orange towards the horizon. The wind still blew, it toyed with her hair and dried the beads of water from her skin
A beam of joy was plastered across her face. It made her feel at ease knowing their family had been safe together another day.
