Character Profile: Christopher Basil
Age: 18
Species: Human
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Occupation: High school student
Physical features: 6’3”, very slim, rather lanky, wavy brown hair, green eyes
Clothing: Dress clothes with a necktie, sometimes a vest, lab gear while working in the science lab.
Personality:
Christopher is a kind person but is rather introverted and usually keeps to himself. He’s not a very social person and is usually not the one to start a conversation, unless it relates to science. Often feels awkward and unsure of what to do in social situations. It isn’t easy to make him mad, unless someone says they hate science. Can get a bit lecture-y on things he either supports or disapproves of.
Bio:
Christopher is the only child of parents with well-paying jobs. Growing up, Christopher wasn’t very interested in sports or other physical activities, preferring things that helped exercise the mind. Even as far back as elementary school, Christopher was well ahead of his age when it came to academics and learning. While the other kids were making volcanoes with vinegar and baking soda, Christopher was figuring out how to create an eruption using the right amount of air pressure that would replicate a pyroclastic flow. Christopher would usually spend his time performing science experiments on his own. He didn’t make very many friends growing up, which worried his parents a bit. Christopher always preferred the company of books and test tubes to the company of people. However, Christopher is a member of a few school clubs, namely the science club and the chess club and he gets along with his acquaintances there.
Even now, in high school, Christopher usually spends his free time studying, performing science experiments, or reading various science-related textbooks for his own enjoyment. For him, any time spent not learning is time wasted. From time to time, while working on experiments in the science lab, he’ll grab a random passerby and pull him or her into the lab to use as a test subject or collect samples from them (this usually includes swabbing skin and saliva, plucking hairs, and picking and flossing food remnants from teeth). Christopher’s main interest at the moment is microbiology. He wants to do something in that field once he graduates from university. However, Christopher is unsure what field he wants to go into. There are so many that interest him including: biomechanical engineering, medical research, and dentistry, just to name a few. He wants something that’s preferably hands on.
Christopher is always seen wearing solid colour dress clothes with a solid colour necktie (though recently he started wearing neckties with striped designs on occasion as well). It’s the only type of clothing he wears. He likes to look proper and professional at all times. While performing experiments or collecting samples, Christopher will always be sporting a lab coat, safety glasses, a medical mask, and white examination gloves. He always likes to be mindful of health and safety, plus he wants to avoid any possible contamination of his experiments. Christopher also offers his tutoring skills to fellow students who are having problems in math or science. He charges for his services, of course. Christopher doesn’t give away his skills for free. What kind of a business is that? Students who can’t pay can make it up to him by being a sample source and guinea pig for his experiments. Christopher is also known for being tough on his tutees.
Christopher’s marks are consistently some of the best in school and he has already been offered various scholarships. Christopher considers any mark lower than 95% to be a major disappointment. He has high expectations for himself academic-wise. He also has high expectations for the people he’s tutoring, which is why he’s so tough on them. Christopher will sometimes lecture other students on the importance of things like studying and dental care or on things he disapproves of like soda pop or video games. This has led to quite a few students sarcastically referring to him as "Mom" and dismissing his lectures with responses such as "sure, Mom," and "whatever you say, Mom."
