There was something hidden and playful in their gazes, something that only the two of them understood. It was a mutual understanding beyond friendship, something they had achieved after daily coexistence and countless phone calls. Only two people who had reached that level of intimacy could manage to transmit their thoughts that deeply.
Always forgetting where they were, and not really caring about what other people were thinking, sometimes when they looked at each other it was to share what they couldn’t say out loud. It was their way of communicating, of understanding and complementing each other.
Like two waves crossing over the sea, their essences combined to form one entity. Only they knew the secrets their eyes have said, and no one could tell exactly what was true and what a dream. For they were like the sea, whose waves only it itself could perceive.
