Work Text:
A heavy sigh left Connors lips as he looked at the wall.
Silence
Another sigh, heavier than the one before, louder too.
Connor could’ve sworn he saw his boyfriends eyes glare up at him over his glasses quickly, before redirecting themselves back to the page. But then again he could’ve just blinked.
So for good measure he sighed again.
This time he saw it. Malcolm's deep gray eyes that were almost blue, glaring at him over his glasses and book.
He’d done it.
Go got the attention he was seeking.
He stared into his eyes for a few seconds before Malcolm raised his eyebrow in the ‘Did-I-just-look-away-from-my-book-because-you-wanted-to-annoy-me?’ way.
Just before his gaze left Connor again he smiled, letting out a small giggle from his lower chest. The laugh sounded deep yet high all at once.
The sound managed Malcolm to lower the book from his face and give Connor the same face once again, but this time it had the added on ‘Are-you-trying-to-get-a-kiss?’
Connor just shrugged at Malcolm, his smile practically making his face split. His blue eyes held the mischievous glint that many said he had gotten from his father, but if Malcolm didnt know any better, or hadn't met his mom. He’d probably agree. But since he knew the woman who birthed his boyfriend and his older brother, he knew it wasn’t from him.
Conner and Malcolm’s staring contest was held for a while longer than expected.
Malcolm thought Conner would give up first.
Conner thought Malcolm would give up first.
So it was held until-
“HA!,” Conner yelled as she leaned forward and sat right on Malcolm’s legs.,” You blinked.,” He popped the ‘p’ as he booped his nose, the glint in his eyes heavy.
“Hm, guess so.,” Malcolm smiled as he turned his head sideways ever so slightly while keeping eye contact.,” I guess so…”
He let his eyes travel to Connors shirt before smiling,” You take that off and we can cuddle, maybe kiss?,” He smiled knowing that Conner knew he was joking. They’d make jokes like that to each other almost daily. It wasn’t unusual, if anything it was unusual if they DIDN’T make jokes like that to each other.
“Hm, I’m kinda cold, but those kisses I could get in on.,” Malcolm smiled, as he took his chin gently in his hand and looked into his eyes again. He felt himself get lost in the gray, they were always so mesmerizing to Connor, anytime he saw them he couldn’t help but stare.
“Hm.” Was the last thing Conner heard come out of Malcolm’s mouth before both of their lips leaned in and connected.
They weren’t doing much, if that anything. Conner kept his hand on Malcolm’s face, and Malcolm held him close by the neck. They’d stop to breathe, they were both becoming restless.
Malcolm took a small breath and stared at Connor once again. They had kept their foreheads pressed together, their noses were barely touching, and lips were still brushing along eachother.
Connor smiled at Malcolm making him look at him odd once again.
“What?,” He whispered, still not moving out of Connors grasp.
“Hm.,” Conner just smiled with his hum before wrapping his arms around Malcolm’s waist and started to hold him.
“You’re trying to cuddle?,” Malcolm smirked, holding back a snarky remark, as he wrapped his arms around his torso. Leaning his head on him at the same time.
“Yeah.,” He whispered before leaning his head away from Malcolm’s and pressing it into his chest.,” Though I’d love a couple more kisses.”
“Hm ok.,” Malcolm smirked, before leaning back in his chair and holding the younger boy, while giving him small kisses along his jawline and up his cheeks towards his forehead.,” You’re so cute.”
“I’m not a mirror blondie.,” He laughed as he peeked up from Malcolm’s chest.
“Neither am I,” Malcolm spoke pausing and staring at Connor for a second.,” Brunette-e?”
“Hm, cute.,” The smile bloomed from his chest and grew towards his face, making him stare for a few seconds before laughing once again.
“Shut up, would you?,” Malcolm growled lightly as he pulled Connors face to him and kissed him lightly and quickly.
“A few more of those and you have a deal, blondie.”
“Hm, ok.”
Malcolm and Connor just laid on the Connors bed in the empty cabin, kissing and cuddling. They agreed nothing could ruin this moment as they held eachother. It was a small silence. They had both just laid there in eachothers arms still giving small kisses to eachothers heads while whispering .
“My dad called me.,” Malcolm had started twisting Connors hair around his fingers and messing it up.
“Oh yeah?”
“Yeah.,” Malcolm looked at his face, intrigued and wanted to hear more, he loved when Connor made that face.,” He said he and my step mom wanted to talk to me about something. I already know it’s about her being pregnant, because I saw it on my maasi’s Facebook.”
“Maasi?,” Connor turned his head aside ever so slightly as he hummed out his words, endearment and confusion filling his tone of voice.
“Maasi, it’s Hindi for mom's sister. And even though it’s my stepmom’s sister I still call her my Maasi. I mean technically I could just call her Auntie, but I like the way Maasi sounds more.,” Malcolm ranted as he leaned his head onto the headboard before turning his head back down to Connor.,” You get it?”
Connor stared at him for a while thinking about why his voice rose higher as he asked a question. The way his grey eyes were fixated on his blue ones. The way he was looking at him. When his lips quivered upwards just slightly when he spoke about his step mom and her sister.
He smiled brightly, almost forgetting everything that was on his mind.
“Yeah I get it Mal.”
“Mal? Where’d the pet names go?,” Malcolm smiled, as he spoke, sitting up so he could make eye contact with his boyfriend who was also sitting up now.
“I can’t make a cute nickname for my beautiful boyfriend?,” Connor laughed before giving him a small quick peck on the nose.,” I'm going to make dinner ok?”
“Ok.”
