It was the beginning of the day when the weird things started happening.
Apollo was at his locker, performing his daily locker cleaning before he would go to homeroom. As he wiped down the surfaces of his locker with wet wipes, he saw Ema walk towards him out of the corner of his eyes. Apollo and Ema were good friends, and they both often talked about nerd things with each other. They even had nerd sleepovers with Clay, which was always fun. Apollo was just glad he had someone to nerd out with. He turned to Ema and smiled, though that smile faltered when he saw the scowl on Ema’s face. Ema was usually grumpy, but she seemed extra grumpy that day.
“Hey Ema.” Apollo greeted.
Ema said nothing.
“Uh, Ema…?”
Still, Ema said nothing.
“Er…”
“You unlucky bastard.” Ema finally said, shaking her head in disapproval.
Apollo looked at Ema, confused. “…Huh?”
Ema tutted, the disappoint obvious from the tone in her voice. “I thought you had better taste in guys Apollo. Though it seems that you’re just as gullible as the rest.”
“What are you talking about?” Apollo asked, growing more confused with each passing second.
“You know what I’m talking about. Even Pearl and Vera know, and they live under the same desolate rock.”
“I don’t, actually.”
Ema scoffed. “Try to deny all you want, but I know. Traitor.”
Apollo sighed softly, he didn’t have the time nor patience for this. “I’m sorry.”
Ema smirked. “Acceptable apology. I’ll see you at lunch then, Apollo. Preferably without…” She trailed off, and then spat out bitterly. “…Him.”
“Okay…?” Apollo said, a little uncertain.
“Good.”
Apollo watched, perplexed, as Ema walked away. When she was finally gone, Apollo processed what had just happened, his mind having to reboot itself. Once he had come to his senses, there was only one thing on Apollo’s mind.
“….What the hell just happened?”

As Apollo was picking up his things for the next subject, that was when another weird thing happened.
Apollo was picking up his things and putting them in his bag, and that was when a girl had approached him. Apollo looked up at the girl, and he smiled. She was Teresa Brown, he shared his English class with her. She was pretty, and even someone who wasn’t interested in girls could say that she was. Apollo was sure that if he was into girls he would have at least been slightly interested in her. Though, the scowl on her face did not mean good things for him, especially since she was usually cheerful. Before Apollo could say anything, Teresa was already talking.
“Where do you get off?” Teresa snarled at him.
“…Huh?” Apollo said, very confused.
Teresa glared at him. “How dare you steal him from me?”
That did not help. “Again, what?”
“Okay, maybe I never talk to him, so what? I like him! I should be given a chance with him, at least one! And I don’t like that he chose me over someone like…” Teresa stared Apollo down judgmentally. “…You.”
“First of all, very entitled way to look at relationships.” Apollo started.
Teresa scoffed.
“Second of all…what the hell are you talking about?” Apollo finished.
Teresa seemed shocked at that, staring on at Apollo in surprise. “What do you mean?”
“I’m not dating anyone.”
Teresa grew confused at that. “You aren’t?”
Apollo shook his head. “Nope, not dating…whoever you’re talking about.” He said, then adding thoughtfully. “You know, if you like this guy so much, you should just ask him out. Couldn’t hurt, right?”
Teresa bit at her lip, considering what Apollo had said heavily. After a few moments, she spoke up, shooting Apollo a pointed glare. “I see what’s going on.”
“…And that is?”
“You’re trying to manipulate me.” Teresa said, pointing an accusatory finger at Apollo.
Apollo almost fell over from his shock. “I’m what?”
“You’re trying to manipulate me!” Teresa repeated, louder this time. “Jokes on you Apollo, that won’t work on me! Your dastardly lawyer tricks won’t work on me at all!”
"I’m not, though…?”
Teresa scoffed, shooting Apollo one last glare before she stomped out of the classroom.
Apollo stood alone in the classroom, dumbfounded.

Apollo was on his way to Geography class when the next weird thing happened.
Wocky had approached Apollo as he was in the hallway. Wocky was one of Klavier’s friends, Apollo knew. He had hung out with Wocky a few times, he seemed nice enough, if not a little overbearing. Then again, Apollo was friends with Clay and Trucy, so he was used to overbearing. Wocky and Apollo weren’t that close, not that either of them minded. Apollo was content with just having Wocky as a friendly acquaintance. So Apollo sure was surprised when he saw Wocky approach him, a huge smile on his face.
“Yo! It’s my man!” Wocky called out to Apollo.
Apollo looked behind him, to make sure that nobody was there. When he confirmed that nobody was behind him, he turned back to Wocky with a confused expression. “Me?”
Wocky grinned. “Of course you, my man! Who else would I be talking to?”
“Anyone else but me…?”
“But I’m talking to you, man! My G, all I gotta say is this…” Wocky patted Apollo’s shoulders, affectionately, as though Apollo was his very own flesh and blood. “I accept you.”
“…Huh?”
“You are a good boyfriend.” Wocky continued.
That confused Apollo even more. “What?”
“You are valued and loved.”
“Um…”
“We accept you, my man.”
“Err…thanks?” Apollo said, uncertainly.
Wocky patted Apollo’s shoulder one last time, smiling at him. “My G, if you ever find yourself in a rough situation, you know who to call. This is not optional, ‘kay?”
“Um, alright…”
“I’ll see you around my man.”
Apollo watched as Wocky walked away, stood in the hallway as his peers walked past him. As Apollo stood in shock, still and unmoving like a statue, the confusion was very evident on his face.
“…What is happening today?”

Thankfully no weird things had happened since Apollo was on his way to Geography class, though that wasn’t saying much, since Geography was Apollo’s last class before lunch break. Apollo walked over to the table that he and his friends usually sat at, and he saw that the whole entourage was there. Clay, Trucy, Ema, Pearl and Vera were all sat at their spots. Clay, Trucy and Ema were in a heated discussion, while Pearl sat back and chimed in occasionally. Vera was busy drawing in her sketchbook, though she rarely ever engaged in the conversations. It was nice to see a sense of normalcy for this very weird day, though that normalcy didn’t last long.
“Oooh! Mr. Popular is here!” Trucy called out teasingly as she saw Apollo sit down next to her.
“He thinks he’s hot shit now, too.” Clay added, snickering.
Ema rolled her eyes.
Ah, they were being weird too.
“What the hell is happening today?!” Apollo burst out as he sat down next to Trucy, frustrated and very much flabbergasted.
“Aside from you getting a boyfriend?” Trucy teased.
“A self absorbed, glimmerous, narcissistic boyfriend.” Ema chimed in.
Apollo tried to say something, but he couldn’t get a word in edgewise.
“He’s not that bad.” Pearl said.
Ema gave Pearl a disapproving look. “He is, Pearl.”
Clay snickered.
Ema tore her glare away from Pearl, directing it Clay. “Something funny?”
“Nothing, just…” Clay snickered again. “Your hatred towards him is funny.”
“It’s not funny, it’s scientifically proven that he’s a douchebag.” Ema said.
“Then why do you eat with him at lunch?” Pearl asked.
“So he doesn’t burn down the whole school.” Ema answered.
Clay and Trucy laughed with each other.
“…Actually, why do you eat lunch with us?” Trucy asked.
“I needed to get away from that jerk. Why do you think I eat with you guys once a week?” Ema said.
“Cause you enjoy our company?” Pearl guessed.
Ema considered it for a moment, and she just shrugged. “Eh, I guess I do, though I mostly hang out with you guys when they get too much for me.” She then shot Apollo a glare. “But with Apollo now dating…him, I feel as though I can’t get away from that asshole anymore.”
“Who the hell is he?! What are you talking about?!” Apollo said.
“You know what I’m talking about.”
Apollo frowned. “I don’t, actually.”
“You don’t have to hide that you’re dating, Polly! We won’t hate you for getting bitches!” Trucy said.
Apollo gave Trucy a disgusted and baffled look.
“What?”
“Trucy, I don’t have any bitches!”
“…Weird flex, but go on.” Trucy said.
Apollo groaned.
“Are you ashamed of who you’re dating, Apollo?” Pearl asked, moving on and giving Apollo no room to respond. “You shouldn’t be ashamed of your boyfriend Apollo. If he’s really right for you, we’ll accept him.”
“With who he’s dating? He’s definitely ashamed.” Ema said.
Pearl shot Ema a glare.
“What? I’m right!”
“Wright.” Trucy corrected.
“Guys! I’m not dating anyone!” Apollo insisted.
“You are. Though, I understand why you’d deny it.” Vera spoke up.
Apollo turned to Vera, his ever growing confusion growing even more. “Huh?!”
“I understand why you didn’t tell us about your relationship, Apollo. Our friends can get a little…overbearing.” Vera said, not looking away from her sketchbook.
“Hurtful.” Clay said.
“It’s true.” Vera said.
“…Yeah, it’s true.” Pearl added.
Clay frowned.
“…What?” Was all Apollo could manage.
Vera looked up from her sketchbook and at Apollo, her brow raised. “Apollo, you seriously think your relationship with him wouldn’t change anything? You’re dating someone, especially someone with his popularity status. It’s naïve to expect your friends to not at least talk about it.”
Apollo sighed in exasperation. “What the hell are you talking about?”
“I’m talking about your relationship with Klavier. What else would I be talking about?” Very said simply.
Apollo’s brain short circuited, his mouth went dry.
What did she just say?
He just misheard them, right?
…Right?
“My relationship with who, now?” Apollo squeaked out, a little dumbfounded.
“Klavier.” Everyone at the table all answered in unison.
“…What?” Was all Apollo could manage.
“You haven’t heard? Everyone at school has been talking about your relationship with Klavier.” Pearl said.
“You know, rumors and gossip and stuff! At this point I think the janitors know too.” Trucy added.
…Oh god, Apollo didn’t mishear them.
Apollo did like Klavier, and he was fine with keeping that secret to the grave, never to be seen by any entity on earth except for himself and God himself. He would have been a lot less upset if the rumors were about him liking Klavier, because that would have at least been true. But these rumors weren’t true, not a lick of truth in them at all. That was what pissed Apollo off about this, the fact that people were so willing to spread something untrue. Apollo Justice wasn’t sure of many things, but he sure as hell knew that he wasn’t dating Klavier.
“What are you guys talking about? What rumors? And I’m not dating anyone, especially Klavier.” Apollo said.
Ema snorted out a laugh. “Yeah, right. Everyone knows that you’re boning that fop.”
“Dating him.” Pearl corrected.
“What’s that now?” Ema questioned, turning to Pearl with a raised brow.
“You can be in a relationship with someone without…” Pearl shuddered, likely at the mental image of Apollo boning anyone. “…Boning them.”
“That’s the fun part of the relationship, Pearly!” Trucy said jokingly.
Clay and Pearl both gasped in horror, though Pearl’s was more genuine and Clay’s was just for a joke. Apollo just watched this all in a stunned silence.
“Trucy Wright! If your father could just hear you!” Clay teased.
“You should be ashamed of yourself, Trucy!” Pearl said, a lot less jokingly.
Trucy groaned. “I’m not the one boning someone!” She then pointed to Apollo. “He is!”
“She’s right.” Vera piped up.
Alright, Apollo had to put an end to this. “Guys! I’m not boning or dating anyone!”
Everyone at the table turned to him, confused.
“…Then why does everyone keep saying that you’re dating him?” Trucy asked, confused.
“Do you like him, at least?” Pearl asked.
“I hardly see how that matters.” Apollo said, scoffing.
Trucy grinned. “Oooooh! He has a crush!”
“That’s not important." Apollo said, then getting up. He looked to in front of them, and he saw the lunch table Klavier and his friends sat at. “All I know is that rumors are spreading about me, and I’d like to know why.”
Before anyone could say anything, Apollo had already gotten up from the table. He stormed his way through the cafeteria and then in front of the table where Klavier and his friends sat.
“Hallo, Herr Forehead.” Klavier greeted pleasantly.
“Ooooh! It’s Klav’s boyfriend!” Daryan joked.
“Hey my man! My little ‘Pollo. How are ya doing?” Wocky greeted, grinning.
“I’m literally older than you.” Apollo said.
“You’re shorter than him, too.” Daryan piped up.
Apollo glared at Daryan. “Not the time, Daryan.”
Daryan snickered.
“Why have you come here, Herr Forehead? Did you want to sit with us?” Klavier asked.
Apollo shook his head. “Nope. I actually wanted to talk to you about something. Something important.”
“Having a little dispute, eh?” Daryan said.
“Shut it.” Apollo snapped at Daryan.
Daryan snickered.
“Herr Forehead, I’m sure it can wait-“ Klavier tried, but he was cut off.
“It can not.” Apollo said through gritted teeth, grabbing Klavier’s arm and yanking him up. “We’re going to talk about this, because I’ve had the weirdest day today and I want to know why.”
Klavier could do nothing as he was dragged away by a very angry Apollo.
━━━━ ❰ · ❉ · ❱ ━━━━
If Klavier was going to be honest, he was scared for his life at this very moment. He had heard horror stories of Apollo’s anger, and now that anger was directed towards him, he was even more terrified. Though even angry, Apollo was still adorable, which Klavier wasn’t sure if it was the best or worst part about this. Klavier had no clue why Apollo was mad at him, really. They hadn’t really interacted since Friday, and it was already Wednesday. Klavier just let himself be dragged, though it was surprising to see how strong Apollo was. Thankfully most of the students were at the cafeteria or the library, not that Klavier would have been ashamed anyways.
Klavier almost stumbled to the ground when Apollo had screeched to a halt. He had to steady himself, and when he was steady he looked at Apollo. It was evident from Apollo’s face that he was pissed, and Klavier had a feeling he’d know soon enough.
“What the hell did you do?” Apollo demanded.
That did not help at all.
“What did I do?” Klavier repeated.
“Klavier, people are saying that we’re dating!” Apollo said.
“Ah. I know, I’ve heard rumors.”
Apollo rubbed at his temples, already feeling a headache form. “Do you at least know why people are saying that we’re dating?”
Klavier hesitated, and then shook his head. “Nein, I do not.”
Apollo’s bracelet tightened, which meant that Klavier lied.
“Klavier, you’re lying.” Apollo said, frowning.
“Verdammt.” Klavier cursed, and he then sighed. “I don’t know why I was trying to hide it from you, Herr Forehead. You would have figured out on your own.”
“I’d rather you tell me now.” Apollo demanded, crossing his arms over his chest.
“Ja, I will.”
Apollo nodded, urging Klavier to continue.
“Do you remember last Friday? When I was teaching you how to play the bass guitar?” Klavier asked.
Apollo raised a brow. “How is this relevant?”
“The thing is, Daryan saw you and me hanging out and he made some…wrong assumptions. He told Wocky, who then told Fräulein Alita. It escalated from there.”
Apollo listened to Klavier intently. “I see…so people wrongly assumed we were dating cause we hung out, right?”
“Well, not wrongly…” Klavier trailed off.
“What do you mean?”
Klavier hesitated. “Well, when we were practicing the guitar. I…looked at you, in a loving way. Daryan must have caught me looking at you like that, and that was what gave him the impression that we were dating.”
If Apollo was drinking water, he would have spit taked at that.
“Wait, you were looking at me lovingly?”
Klavier chuckled. “Ja…I did.”
Apollo was stunned, so stunned that he could barely breathe. It took a few moments to compose himself, a few moments too many. “You know…you’re not the only one who looked…”
Klavier’s eyes widened. “You don’t mean…”
“Yeah, I do mean that. I looked at you in a certain way.”
“…How did you look at me, Herr Forehead?” Klavier said, and Apollo could see the way he held his breath in anticipation.
Now was Apollo’s time to be romantic.
Apollo slowly smiled. “Well, I looked at you the way I look at law.”
“…Hä?”
“Ugh, I was trying to be romantic…” Apollo said, groaning. “Obviously I failed.”
“Actually…” Klavier slowly smiled. “You did not, Herr Forehead.”
Apollo couldn’t help but chuckle at that. He then said, rather bluntly. “So, you like me right?”
Klavier chuckled. “What a blunt way to put it.” He said, and he chuckled when he saw Apollo’s frown. “But to answer your question. Ja, I do. I’ve liked you for two whole years now.”
“…I’ve liked you for three.”
“Herr Forehead…”
The two’s faces inched closer to each other, and pretty soon their lips soon meeting. This wasn’t Apollo’s first kiss, and he sure as hell knew that this wasn’t Klavier’s either. Their kiss wasn’t like the passionate first kisses that were shown in the movies. Their kiss was light and soft, warm even. It wasn’t the most pleasurable kiss that could happen, but Apollo knew that he was going to remember this moment for the rest of his life.
Someone behind them gasped.
Klavier and Apollo both separated from the kiss. They turned to the source of the gasp, and they saw Trucy, her eyes so wide they could practically fly out of her sockets. She just stared at the two, flabbergasted. Finally, she found her words, though she stammered them.
“P-Polly, you- why are you…I thought you weren’t-“
“Take your time Trucy.” Apollo reassured
“Don’t rush it, Fräulein.”
Trucy continued to stammer, until she was finally able to gain some composure. Not much composure, but composure nonetheless. “I thought you guys weren’t together?!”
“We weren’t…earlier.”
Trucy was confused. “What do you mean by that?”
“Well, this relationship sort of a recent thing. We just got together, a few minutes ago.” Apollo said.
“Very recent.” Klavier added.
“Yeah. So uh, I guess we’re a couple now.” Apollo continued, then turning to Klavier for confirmation. “Right?”
Klavier smiled. “I’d love to date you, Herr Forehead.”
Apollo smiled back.
“WHAAAAT?!” Trucy burst out. “You guys got together?! In the hallway?!”
“I uh…” Apollo scratched the back of his neck sheepishly, and then he nodded. “I guess we did.”
Trucy grinned. “Polly, you sloppy sicko! I didn’t know you were so scandalous!”
“Fräulein, why are you even here?” Klavier asked.
“I was on my way to the bathroom to wash my hands!” Trucy answered.
“Oh. I see.”
“Could you have at least picked a better route?” Apollo said.
“Polly, the hallway is meant for walking, not for making out.” Trucy argued.
“Just let us have our moment, Trucy.” Apollo said.
“But-“ Trucy tried, but she was cut off.
“Go!”
Trucy grinned at the two one more time, before she skipped off into wherever she was going, to no doubt tell everyone else about her recent discovery.
“That just…happened.” Klavier commented.
Apollo snickered. “Yeah, it did.”
Klavier turned to Apollo. “You do know us dating will only make the rumors worse, ja?”
“Well, at least the rumors are true now.” Apollo said, slowly grinning.
“That they are, Herr Forehead.” Klavier said, chuckling. “That they are.”
