The door opened revealing Richard who looked down at Craig with part confusion and part his normal grimace. Nevertheless, he invited the smaller boy inside and called for his son.
“Tweek! Craig’s here!” The two heard a small yell in response to his name being yelled, causing Craig to smile instinctually. Richard moved back to sit with his wife as they watched a show that Craig assumed to be about business structure.
Craig smiled as he heard the scattered footsteps getting faster toward the stairs. He then saw the messy yellow head of hair come down the stairs, a smile lighting the boy’s face as he saw Craig.
“Craig! Wha- what are you doing here?” Tweek asked as he walked closer to his boyfriend. Craig smiled as he answered in his monotonous, nasally voice.
“Well Tweek, I thought we could have a day together? Maybe play some PlayStation?” Tweek smiled in response and nodded heading into the kitchen to grab a coffee as Craig took off his shoes and followed Tweek into the kitchen.
“I don’t mean to be down your back about this but-” Craig starts to say, which scares Tweek slightly, causing him to spill the coffee. Craig quickly apologises as he quickly goes to help clean the mess and continues to speak regardless. “I just, you shouldn’t be drinking as much coffee as you do. I know your parents say it helps your twitching but it seems to do the opposite? Like you seem calmer without caffeine?”
Tweek flails in response, quickly shaking his head and drinking some of the coffee he made himself. Just to prove Craigs point wrong he forces himself to stop his twitching briefly which doesn’t last long, resulting in Tweek almost throwing the mug across the room before Craig can walk over to him and hold his hands still.
“See babe. Coffee doesn’t help your shaking. Why don’t we both take a glass of water, you can even put your water in a mug!” Craig suggested to his boyfriend, looking through the cupboards for glasses for himself.
Tweek rolled his eyes and smiled at the thought behind Craig’s sentiment. Tweek went over to help Craig find a glass and dumped his coffee down the drain, replacing the bean broth in his mug with water.
“AAH! Craig! My room… PlayStation.” Tweek got out eventually, wanting to go to his room so he was out of earshot of his parents. This wasn’t anything out of the ordinary for his boyfriend so Craig nodded and followed Tweek up to his room after pouring himself a glass of water
As the two boys walked into Tweeks room Craig absentmindedly closed the door behind him. Tweek tried not to overthink the door being closed too much and shakily set up the PlayStation for the two.
Tweek showed Craig “Dark Souls III” as if asking if the game was okay. Craig flashed a quick thumbs up, Tweek then handed Craig the remote seeing as the game was only a one person game. Tweek didn’t mind not playing though, he enjoyed watching his boyfriend play the game, he would watch how fast Craigs fingers would move in astonishment and take mental notes of how he progressed through the game.
After playing/watching Craig play the game for close to 30 minutes, Tweeks father came up and knocked on the door before opening it. Tweek jumped away from Craig - who he had been leaning on his back while he played - and quickly looked at his father.
“Tweek? Is there a reason the door was closed?” Richard asked with a hint of accusation in his voice. Tweek shook slightly as he looked at Craig then his father and shook his head, before he could answer verbally Craig spoke up to answer Richard.
“I apologise Mr. Tweak. It’s a force of habit at home. I like my privacy and wasn’t thinking about you and your wife.” Craig apologised after pausing the game and taking Tweeks hand. He rubbed small soothing circles on the back of Tweeks hand to try and soothe the boy.
“Oh. Alright that's okay then. We just like to have Tweeks door open just in case, not that we don’t trust you two we just don’t like hiding.” Richard explained as he stood in the door frame. He then looked at Tweek and spoke once again.
“Well, me and your mother are going out. Don’t be stupid, and if you need money if you want a pizza or something, use the card in my room okay Tweek?” Richard said, quickly turning and leaving after Tweek nodded in acknowledgment. After his dad left the room Tweek started twitching pretty bad and making odd noises.
“I’m sorry Tweek. You could've told me about the door. It’s just a force of habit and I wouldn't have been upset dude.” Craig said, picking the remote back up. Tweek groaned in response to Craig, he then started overthinking.
Tweek’s breathing started to speed up along with his body starting to twitch worse than normal as he started playing scenarios in his head with his parents getting mad at him. Though he knows his parents will never get physical with him and he knows he doesn’t have to fear his parents… that doesn’t stop his thoughts from racing.
Tweek stood and started pacing around his room, picking the odd thing up and shaking violently before trying to gently set it properly in its place. Craig had taken note of his boyfriend’s actions after the first violent outburst and paused the game to watch Tweek and gauge how bad the situation was.
Tweek went to grab the mug on his dresser, knowing his coffee usually gives him slight peace of mind. As he took a gulp and realised it wasn’t coffee like he had remembered, he spit the water out and threw the mug on the ground.
“Yo dude! What the fuck?” Craig said as he turned the PlayStation off and grabbed the mug from the small carpet on the floor Tweek had thrown it on. As he picked it up it broke into two and Craig tried to hide the fact the mug was broken but Tweek noticed and shrieked.
“Arrrgh They’re gonna be mad. They’re gonna be so mad Craig!! I- argh!!” Tweek panicked. Craig was used to Tweek getting anxious but he wasn’t too familiar with how to help with intense panic, he would normally just talk Tweek through his emotions and generally be there for him. This time though… The intensity of his panic seemed different.
“Hey… it’s okay babe. It was just a mug and if it makes you feel better I can even replace it. Now I know the mug isn’t why you’re freaking out, what’s wrong honey?” Craig asked with great concern for his boyfriend's overall health. Tweek shook again, grabbed the broken mug from Craig and set it on his dresser then took Craig’s hands in his own.
Tweek knew to focus on one thing at a time when he wanted to calm down from his own panic, this one thing being Craigs hand at the moment. Tweek studied the hands he was so used to, looking over the lines and cracks in the skin he loved so much.
Craig just let Tweek do what he thought was helping calm him down. From experience, Tweek would do this during his intense emotions whether positive or negative, context being a key factor. Craig shivered slightly as Tweek ghosted his fingers over Craigs palms, Tweek responding with a slight twitch.
“If you don’t think you're ready to talk about it right now, why don’t we get you some tea? It’s like coffee, just not like the kind your parents make.” Craig suggested softly, watching as Tweek’s head shot up to look at Craig, nodding cautiously.
Craig slowly laced his fingers with Tweeks and gently tugged Tweek down toward the kitchen. Once there, Tweek grabbed a mug while Craig looked for a tea bag or if there were loose leaves of tea in the cupboards. Craig found a box of chamomile tea bags while Tweek grabbed a mug and started boiling the kettle.
“I- I’m just scared. I- agh! I know they won’t hurt me. I just don’t like them mad.” Tweek finally said as the kettle boiled. Craig hummed in acknowledgment before answering.
“If you think it’d help, I can stay until they come home. I really wasn’t thinking when I closed the door dude.” Craig sighed. The kettle started screaming causing Tweek to jump and shake in response. Craig took the kettle and poured it into the mug, adding the tea bag, leaving it to brew.
Tweek hummed in response to Craigs offer. He took Craigs hands back and continued studying them. Craig’s heart was doing flips as he watched Tweeks eyes roam over his own skin he was slightly self conscious about. Tweek had seemed to calm himself down quite a lot from Craig’s hands surprisingly.
Once the tea had cooled down a bit, Craig took a spoon and stirred the liquid before handing it to Tweek with a smile. Tweek smiled the best he could at Craig as he took the mug and blew on it, carefully taking a sip as to not burn his mouth too bad.
“Nngaa! It’s not bad babe. It’s not strong!” Tweek said after debating on whether he liked the drink or not, deciding he was on the fence. Craig smiled, kissing Tweeks forehead as the latter put the mug on the counter.
As things started to calm and Tweek actually seemed to not be his normal twitchy self after drinking the mug of tea, Craig couldn’t help but find himself swooning over his boyfriend. Tweek noticed the incessant staring from his monotonous boyfriend and turned to him giving him a look.
“What’s up babe? You’re- you're staring.” Tweek asked, looking up from his almost empty mug. Craig seemed to almost “snap out of it” as if he was in a trance, smiling as he looked into his boyfriend's eyes.
“You’re so beautiful honey. I’m kinda glad those Asian girls drew that yaoi of us, as weird as that may seem.” Craig said quickly looking down, not wanting Tweek to see his bright blush. The latter smiled after putting down the mug and going over to Craig and wrapping his arms around his neck.
“You’re so sweet. Hhng! I love you Craig.” Tweek tried to speak softly into his boyfriend's ear as he gave him a hug. Craig didn’t mind the little slightly loud noise in his ear and kissed Tweek’s temple.
“I love you too Tweek.”
