Nico was laying on his bed in his apartment when a sudden knock snapped him out of his sleepy state. Nico turned and looked at the time confused, it was almost midnight. Who the hell knocked on the door a quarter till midnight?
Nico stood up groggily and went to the door, he made sure to not make his roommate, Jason Grace. He knew that he’d be all up in Nico’s business if he had saw him looking through the peep hole at such a late hour. He’s seen Nico look at worse stuff so late because of not knocking on his door, but still.
He sighed and got on his tip toes to look through the peephole, the door of Nico and Jason’s apartment was almost over 9 feet, so the peep hole was pretty high up. Thankfully there was still around three feet of door above it so Nico didn’t have to worry about getting a step stool or something.
Nico took a shallow breath as he strained his eyes to see, in all honesty he needed glasses to see up close. But he would never admit that.
Nico got on the tips of his toes and looked though the peep hole again- nothing.
Nico sighed and flattened himself down onto his flat feet before pulling the door open, he kept the lock on just in case. (He might be a trained fighter, but he was tired and a bit rusty)
His eyes looked all over the surrounding area of the outside of his apartment hoping to find something that indicated someone out there, then, he saw the blonde head of hair.
Nico widened his eyes before smiling and shutting the door, unlocking it too, before opening it back up all the way.
The blonde head of hair looked at Nico and stared for a second before smiling.
“Neeks! Hey!” Will smiled, opening his arms for his boyfriend. Nico laughed as he jumped at Will and pulled him into a quick hug.
“Will, “Nico pressed his cheek into Wills shoulder, “Why didn’t you call me and tell me you were coming over?”
Will hesitated before speaking, “I can tell you, just can we please go inside first?”
Nico looked up at Will for a second longer confused before noticing the nervousness in his face. He smiled hesitated before he spoke.
“Yeah, come inside, “Nico smiled slightly before walking inside. Usually he’d hold his hand and walk with him in, or give him a kiss on the cheek and drag him in. But now he didn’t do either.
Nico sat down on the chairs in the small living space he shared with his friend. He was silent for a minute, so was Will.
“Nico-“ Will started to say after a hit before Nico cut him off.
“You’re Breaking up with me, “He looked up, “Aren’t you?”
Will’s eyes went wide as he yelled, “What? No! Nico, no! I-“ Will tried to speak in a quieter tone once he recognized his volume, but it was too late Jason’s door down the hall slammed open with a yell.
“Nico you ok?” He came running down the hall. Once he saw Will in there sitting away from Nico he stopped and stared for a minute, “What’s going on here?”
Nico started to open his mouth to say ‘Nothing, go back to bed, and please, start wearing a shirt to bed while you’re at it! Anytime Wills over he just stares at your chest and scars, I personally don’t care. But he does’ But before he could Will spoke up.
“I uh, had an important question for Nico, “Will whispered looking down Jason just to notice he was wearing simple gray sweat pants, “Nice pants.”
“It better not be what I’m thinking it is., “Jason murmured, leaning on the wall.
“Jason please go away, “Nico whispered a blush growing on his cheeks.
“I’d love to but I’m a mandated reporter for your sisters, and my sister, and all of our friends, so technically I can’t., “Jason said shrugging his shoulders with a smile.
“Don’t worry Nico it’s not that bad of a question, and He’ll have to know about it anyways, “Will laughed slightly.
Nico took a shallow breath and nodded for him to continue.
“Ok so uh- this is actually really hard to say.” Will laughed slightly.
“Probably harder with the audience you never wanted, “Nico growled while looking over at Jason who was fiddling with his bonnet.
“Hah kinda, but he needs to know., “Will laughed again before looking at Nico, taking his hand., “So uh, Nico I was wondering if you heard about the apartment building a block or so from here?”
Nico raised his eyebrow in a way of saying ‘ We’re in Manhattan New York. There’s a million apartment buildings’
Will noticed his reaction and stopped, “Right uh- the newly renovated one, like the ones that are super expensive?”
Nico nodded at that.
“Well uh- I’m getting a appartment there because it’s closer to work and school than my appartment now., “He looked and Nico and saw him nod to continue, “And uh, well I- Uhm. So I’ve been wanted to ask you this for a while, but I didn’t because I knew you’d say no, but now I think I have a 50/50 chance.”
Nico stared at him, instead of being scared now, he was nervous. And Jason out of the corner of his eye staring at the two like they were characters from one of his rom-com shows made him even more anxious.
“What I’m saying is: Nico would you like to move in with me?” Will finally finished, “And before you respond, I know it’s late. I was planning on asking you after my shift today but then I got more hours last minute and a part of me said I couldn’t wait, so here I am asking now!”
Nico looked over at Jason and saw his wide eyed, he was excited- possibly too excited. He noticed Nico’s eyes on him and gave two thumbs up quickly before running down the hall to his bedroom. Nico really started to hate the fact he was a ‘mandated reporter’ for his sisters, and friends.
Finally he looked back at Will, who looked like he was about to have an aneurism.
“Yes.” He answered short and sweet.
He visually saw Will go through all 5 stages of grief before he smiled and shot up, grabbing Nico into a hug.
“ahahah! My boyfriend is going to live with me!” He was extactic.
Nico smiled at his excitement before wrapping his arms around his neck and giving him a short sweet kiss. Will smiled once their lips disconnected before pressing them back together again.
Nico and Will ended up in Nico’s room a couple of days later, packing up his stuff. They had started to hug and kiss before they heard a loud familiar laugh echo throughout the appartment. He gave each other a look before walking out of the room filled with boxes.
Once they were in the kitchen they saw Jason by the stove with a small frying pan in hand, Leo in the fridge. Both of they walked out of the hallway, but they still weren’t noticed. Leo and Jason were too busy talking.
“What are you guys doing?” Nico asked startling both of them.
“Ah Nico, Will! I thought you guys were unpacking at your new apartment?” Jason laughed slightly his face redened, Leo’s too.
“Uh we came back to grab some of my boxes, “Nico whispered a small hint of a smile making its way onto his face., “Why’s Leo here?”
“I can’t just visit my boyfriend?” Leo muttered, as he turned his body out of the fridge holding a bottle of vegan eggs.
Nico and Will shared a brief look that said ‘right’ .
“Are you lying to two of your bestest friends?” Will asked, as he placed a hand on his chest in a accusing manner.
Leo’s face visibly warmed up as he grabbed the frying pan from Jason, “Well I uh- you know! Just want personal time… with my boyfriend. Like you guys., “He gave them a face, “So get the boxes and get your asses the hell out of here.”
“Sounds perverted to me, “Nico joked before Jason yelled.
“You can’t be mad if I tell you the truth!”
Nico stopped mid turn and looked at Will who looked just as intrigued as him. So they both turned back to Jason who was red faced, and Leo who was just as red. Jason was walking around the kitchen stove, to the other side of the island that was infront of the stove. And Leo was pushing the vegan eggs around on the pan.
Nico looked at the two demigods for a second longer than he wished.
“Ok., “Jason said after forever, “I know I might not be able to cover the full rent alone, so I thought to ask Leo since he goes to class near here and he’s been having problems from getting to his classes on time so I thought- uh…”
Jason trailed off but Nico understood what he meant.
“Thats awesome Jason, “Nico smiled before looking up at Leo who was finishing the eggs and putting them on a plate., “Friendly warning, I do see Jason as my brother, and you know that. So if there’s any problems with you living here I will come back and kick you out. Ok?”
Leo nodded his head unaffected from shovel talks. Nico remembered that when Jason and Leo started dating he had given him a shovel talk just a little too late because Thaila, Bianca, Reyna, Percy, Annabeth, Piper, Hazel, and Frank all got to him first. So by the time it was him, he was completely unaffected.
“Well congratulations to you two, “Will smiled before he lowered his tone slightly, “Are you guys planning on sharing a room… or?”
“Well I don’t know, “Leo shrugged as he walked around to Jason’s side, “You tell us what you guys plan on doing and I’ll tell you.”
“Sharing., “Nico said immediately after Leo was down speaking.
“Sharing, “Leo nodded as well with a smile.
“Well now that we know about this can we please get you stuff Neeks?” Will asked his boyfriend.
“Sure, “Nico smiled, “If we end up not seeing each other the next few days because of the pain of moving, I hope you guys have fun tonight.”
“ What! ”
“ Niccolo !”
Both boys shouted at him at once.
Nico smiled as he took Wills hand and dragged him to his old room to grab more boxes.
[A month or so later]
Nico was in the kitchen waiting for Will, they were supposed to leave fifteen minutes ago for dinner with Leo and Jason.
“Will!” Nico yelled through the appartment.
“I’m hurrying, “Will yelled before he came running out of the bathroom, still bucking his belt., “I had to pee!” Nico rolled his eyes at his boyfriend before walking out of the door, Will chasing him.
A walk around a couple blocks later, Nico and Will were at the Valdez and Grace residence. Nico took the lead as they went up the narrow stairwell and held Wills hand. Once they got there Nico gave two quick knocks before the door was thrown open.
“Hello queers, “Leo smiled nodding his head at his friends whil letting them in.
“I’m sorry, ‘Hello queers’?” Will asked his eyes narrowed, he was taking off his coat and throwing it over the back of a chair., “Where’d the hell you hear that?”
“I came up with it, “Leo lied.
Both of them gave a face before looking over at Jason who was in the living area with a couple board games around him, “Ok you guys are the winning vote, Jenga or Monopoly?”
“Who the hell votes for Monopoly?” Will asked his face going sour.
Behind him Leo yelled out a Spanish curse, “Me ya’ Idiota !” When he spoke his southern accent was strong like it was when he had just met them.
“Oh yeah well you’re a Calaca! ” Will yelled back in response, a smile on his face.
“I think I want to play Monopoly, “Nico smiled making Leo laugh and Will and Jason sigh.
“Looks like we’re playing both tonight then, “Leo smiled as he opened a pot on the stove and stirred it., “And you two can’t quit halfway through.” He said directing it at Jason and Will. Both boys sighed at that.
A while later the food was done and Nico was asking a million questions.
‘ Does this have garlic in it? ’
‘ This isnt spicy right? ’
‘ How long did you cook this for? ’
Leo answered each one easily.
‘ Yes, but don’t worry I made sure it was only a bit .’
‘ Not to me. But it was stewed in a chicken broth and banana pepper mixture . So I’d ask your brother to test it. ’
‘ Long enough. ’
Will and Jason were talking about their jobs and how they were both doing.
So in general, the dinner was nice.
Then the games came out.
It was hell
Leo was beating everyone’s ass in Jenga, then when they moved onto Monopoly and he beats everyone ass in that. Thankfully Will only rage quitted once during monopoly.
When Nico got home with Will he pulled him into the couch in a hug.
“What’s this for?” Will joked holding him back.
“I’m just so happy you asked me to live with you., “Nico whispered placing a quick kiss on his jaw., “If I never moved We wouldn’t be having this night. So thank you.”
Will smiled at his boyfriend who was just radiating a sleepy spell., “Of course darlin’ I wouldn’tve asked you if I didn’t want to be with you everyday.”
Nico smiled and a kiss to his lips, “Thanks, again.”
