Work Text:
Will woke up in the Hades cabin. He tried to get up, but he barely had the energy to.
It was dark, but the small bit of light coming through the window let him see. Nico wasn’t here.
A wave of sadness and emptiness came over him, and Will recognized this feeling.
Him and Nico made little codes and names for how they’re feeling. One tap of a finger meant you were doing good. Two meant you were doing just Fine. Three meant you were doing awful. Some bonuses were a circle drawn with a finger meant self harm thoughts/actions, and a square meant suicidal ones.
Will was doing quite awful today. He knows he just woke up, but the sadness and hopelessness that filled his mind was strong.
He felt so bad. He just wanted to sleep all day, or cuddle Nico, or just something, anything, to distract him.
Will doesn’t know where Nico is right now. He’s probably training or teaching younger campers sword fighting, seeing as it was a Wednesday afternoon. That’s usually when he’s busy doing that stuff.
Will wanted to take a shower. His hair was a greasy mess and he felt so gross and dirty. He didn’t have the energy to get up and take one, though.
Will laid there for a bit, staring at the ceiling. There was a galaxy tapestry on the ceiling above the bed that Will had given Nico a while back.
Suddenly, the door to the cabin creaked open, and light spilled into the room.
Nico emerged from the light and shut the door, making Will’s eyes adjust to the dark again.
Nico saw Will lying there and set his sword down. He walked over and sat on the bed next to Will.
“Hey. I just got done teaching the little ones. This Hermes kid is really getting the hang of it already-”
Nico stopped, analyzing Will’s face.
“Sunshine, is today a bad one?” He said softly, taking Will’s hand.
“Yes.” Will mumbled.
Nico helped Will sit up, holding his back.
Will tapped Nico’s sweater sleeve three times. He then drew a circle on Nico’s forearm.
Nico hugged him, holding him close.
“Anything you want me to do for you?” Nico asked.
“Bath.” Is all Will could manage to say.
“You want me to get a bath ready for you?”
Will nodded.
“Bathbomb? Candle?”
“Yeah. The blue bathbomb. The sparkly one, please.” Will replied.
“Okay. I’ll get you some clothes too. Be right back.” Nico kissed Will’s cheek and got up.
Will had his own drawer in Nico’s dresser, since he stayed in Nico’s cabin so much. He saw Nico pull out an oversized camp shirt and some soft comfy pajama pants.
He then walked into the bathroom, and Will was left alone again.
Will heard the sound of the bathtub being filled.
Nico came back, and the bath was most likely ready.
“It’s ready.” Nico said, helping Will out of bed.
Will walked into the bathroom, and the bathwater was blue and sparkly like he asked. There was also a nice smelling candle lit on the counter.
“I got you clothes and everything. Yell if you need me, okay?” Nico said.
“Wait. Can you, uhm, help me wash my hair?” Will asked quietly.
“Sure, of course. Want me to turn around for a sec?”
Will appreciated that Nico asked that. He was very ashamed of the scars that littered his hips and upper thighs. Nico had already seen them, when they had a long conversation about his self harm, but Will was still nervous with others seeing them.
He stripped and got into the bath. “You can turn around.”
Nico turned around and grabbed a cup, filling it with water. “Tilt your head back for me?” He asked.
Will tilted his head back, feeling the warm water run through his hair.
Nico’s shampoo smelled like pomegranates. It was nice.
Nico conditioned Will’s hair and rinsed it out. Will felt better already.
“Hair is done. Want to wash your body?” Nico asked, holding out a loofa.
“Yes. I can do that.” Will replied.

Will was out of the bath, and the comfy pants he wore were so soft. He felt so much better, but the feeling was still lingering. It doesn’t just magically go away, but the bath did help.
Will laid back down in the bed. Nico had put on pyjamas also.
“Can we cuddle?” Will asked.
“Of course, Love.”
After a while of cuddling, Will was asleep again. Who knows how he’ll feel when he wakes up, but whatever happens, he’ll be able to get through it. He always does.
