Chapter Text

As Yuu heard the birdbrain Crowley slam the door behind her, she realized what kind of mess she was in. The seven voices in her head (who she learned later were Disney villains and apparently worshipped in this world) did nothing to calm her nerves. The disorienting blend of cackles, sinister murmurs, and theatrical declarations felt like a cacophony. She clutched her head, trying to make sense of the madness.

"Well, well, well, what have we here?" a voice purred, dripping with malice. Yuu recognized it as Ursula's. "A little lost soul, aren't we?"

"Calm down, dear," Maleficent's voice interjected, surprisingly soothing yet authoritative. "Panicking won't help you. Assess your situation."

Yuu took a deep breath, heeding the advice. She looked around the dimly lit room she had been thrust into. It seemed to be a grand office, lined with dark wood bookshelves filled with ancient tomes. The decor was gothic, with candelabras casting eerie shadows on the walls. This was Ramshakle she assumed.

"Focus, girl," Jafar's voice hissed. "You need to figure out how to survive here. This is no ordinary world."

"No kidding," Yuu muttered under her breath.

"This world is based on the essence of our powers," the Evil Queen's voice explained. "Magic, darkness, and ambition rule here."

Yuu walked over to a large, ornate desk in the center of the room. Papers were scattered across its surface, detailing various aspects of Night Raven College. She picked up one that caught her eye: a map of the campus. It was sprawling and labyrinthine, with various buildings labeled ominously.

"Study that well," Scar's voice growled. "Knowing your terrain is half the battle."

"Great," Yuu sighed, folding the map and tucking it into her pocket. "So I'm supposed to navigate a school designed by maniacs, guided by the voices of villains. Wonderful."

"Think of it as a unique education," Hades' voice chimed in with a sardonic chuckle. "Embrace the chaos, kid."

Yuu took another deep breath, trying to center herself. The voices had been with her since she could remember, a strange and unsettling presence that had somehow become familiar. But all that was familiar was just an eternal black void... But now, in this world, they seemed more active, more engaged. It was as if the magic of this place had amplified their presence.

"Alright," she said, squaring her shoulders. "Where do I start?"

"Good," Maleficent's voice purred. "Embrace the challenge. Power is within your grasp."

Yuu looked around the building once more and spotted a thick, leather-bound book on a nearby shelf. It was titled "Introduction to Magic, Volume I" She pulled it down, feeling the weight of it in her hands. The cover was intricately designed with runes and symbols she couldn't yet understand.

"This is your first step," the Evil Queen's voice advised. "Knowledge is power. Study it well."

Yuu took the book and sat down at the desk, opening it to the first page. The text was dense and archaic, filled with spells, potions, and a history of the great villains. It was daunting, but also fascinating. She felt a strange connection to this world, as if she belonged here, despite the madness.

As she delved into the book, the voices offered guidance and commentary. They shared insights on the spells, corrected her mistakes, and even argued over interpretations. Despite their sinister nature, they were a wellspring of knowledge.

________

Yuu was walking in the halls of the less-than-pristine building Crowley had left her in. The dim light cast long shadows across the cracked walls and worn floors, and she could hear the distant echo of her footsteps, a reminder of the eerie solitude of her new surroundings. As she rounded a corner, she spotted a familiar, mischievous face.

"You...," she muttered, narrowing her eyes. The small, blue flame-like creature had snuck into Night Raven College again. His eyes widened when he saw her, and for a moment, they both stood still, caught in a silent standoff.

"You!" Grim exclaimed, his voice a mix of surprise and annoyance. "What are you doing here?"

"I could ask you the same thing," Yuu replied, her voice tinged with suspicion. The last time she had seen Grim, he had tried to burn her during the entrance ceremony. It had taken everything she had to dodge his fiery attack.

"Get out of my way, human," Grim growled, his fiery tail flickering with irritation. "I have important things to do."

"Important things?" Yuu scoffed. "Like what? Setting more things on fire?"

Grim puffed out his chest, trying to look dignified. "I’m destined to be the greatest mage ever! I don’t have time for your nonsense."

Yuu crossed her arms, standing her ground. "You tried to burn me, remember? Why should I trust you?"

"Trust?" Ursula’s voice purred in her mind. "Trust is for the weak. Power is all that matters."

"Calm down, dear," Maleficent's voice interjected. "You need to be strategic. This creature might be of use."

Yuu took a deep breath, trying to calm the emotions inside her. "Look, Grim. This place is dangerous, and neither of us can handle it alone. We don’t have to trust each other, but we can at least not get in each other’s way."

Grim eyed her warily. "You’re not going to try and kick me out?"

"I’m not your enemy," Yuu said, though she wasn’t entirely sure if that was true... "But we both need a place to stay, and it looks like we’re stuck in this rickety dorm together."

Grim seemed to consider this for a moment before nodding reluctantly. "Fine. But if you try anything funny, I won’t hesitate to burn you again."

Yuu suppressed a shiver. "Deal. Just stay out of my way, and I’ll stay out of yours."

They made their way back to the flimsy living room, a decrepit room. The walls were peeling, and the floorboards creaked ominously with every step. It was far from ideal, but it was the only place they had.

Grim slunk off to a corner, curling up with a huff. Yuu found a spot on the other side of the room, setting down her belongings. The voices in her head murmured in a mix of approval and caution.

"Watch him closely," Jafar’s voice warned. "He could be useful, but he’s still a potential threat."

"You have allies," Hades’ voice remarked, almost amused. "That’s a start."

Yuu leaned against the wall, feeling the weight of the day settle on her shoulders. This world was nothing like what she had known, and the presence of the villainous voices in her head only added to the confusion. But despite the distrust and the danger, she felt a strange sense of determination. She wasn’t alone, not entirely. She had Grim, for better or worse, and the knowledge and power of the villains guiding her.

As the night wore on, Yuu kept a wary eye on Grim, who seemed to have fallen asleep, his fiery tail flickering gently. She knew better than to fully trust him, but for now, they had a tenuous truce. And in this dark, magical world, that was more than she could have hoped for.

With a sigh, she opened the thick, leather-bound book she had taken from Crowley’s office earlier. The pages were filled with intricate illustrations and detailed instructions on spells and potions. It was daunting but fascinating. She immersed herself in her studies, the voices in her head offering guidance and corrections. This was her new reality, and she would face it head-on, one step at a time.

Maybe... It would be okay.
