- so to summarize what's going on I'll give you the rundown. The devs around the time it started it’s slow path to shutdown tryed to save the game by coming up with the idea of making the guild leaders of powerful guilds that had plot adaptability or more popular ones would become world enemies in their domains, Ainz Ooal Gown was at the top of the list for being impenetrable and vary adaptable to lore thanks to obsessiveness of its members. so they gave Momanga the abilities separating them from the ones that would stay active outside the guild. he was given the level one hundred fifty with the possibility of growing to two hundred, a mana regen that would quickly fill right back up even after super tear magic, the ability deaths guidance it allows the caster to resurrect one person or a mass of people once a day with the only requirement being you know something that resonates with their vary soul (the spell worked in tandem with his create greater undead having to pick between the options) plus a few other special ability's going with the title of lord of death and Being Over the Void, along with the ability to not use up a world item when activating it, and finally, thanks to one of the Ainz Ooal Gown members mentioning when the devs were giving him his powers he really was the king of the guild all he needed was an heir now, the devs gave him a free 100 level npc who because he's his "son" could go higher as long as it applied to the same rule as Momonga, and was given the permanent title of prince of magics void (whatever that meant. -Ainz) and he head to stay out of combat having given him for more of a lore reason.
Ainz's son not given a name because his father kept being indecisive, (will inherit his human name when he changes it,) the guild member who made Albedo decided help Momonga with the design and secretly going back through Albedos code making her love Momoga and being the mother of this child and not a b****, before surprising everyone with the joke much to Momonga's embarrassment and secret delight. The rest of the guild apparently loved the idea so much they made an extra space near the treasury called the royal suite, with a lavish dining room living room four bedrooms including the master and its own private hot spring. - Now onto the kid He has mastered Cosmic magic allowing him to send stars down upon his foes and pull apart reality to create eldritch abominations forming them to his own imagination, he also doesn't like wearing shoes. (Note, he is too pure for any world, He also is younger than Mare and his sister are mentally, age around late six early seven.) He has also created an eleventh-floor designated the forbidden realm where cosmic energy gathers scorching the flouting mountains suspended in space and time where all the abominations he has created roam with his castle aka his room sits above on the tallest peak its access points are located on floor ten royal suite as well as anywhere the kid pleases. The realm is separated into two parts the garden castle structure connected to Nazarick and the rest of it designed by the devs as a dlc where Momonga could take the place of his son's boss fight since no one could get inside Ainz Ooal Gown's base.
- He has six mini bosses acting as lower gods of the realm loyal to him that to the planed lore fear him but still fear his father more than anything with them seeing him as death incarnate capable of dragging them down into the endless sleep of mortals.
I'm giving Ainz jr two sets of these colored wings and I was not going to be able to describe them accurately. (art pulled from Pinterest.)
His staff will change in size and appearance depending on the spells he casts or the weapon he wants, form one celestial wand (spells under level four,) form two celestial mace (spells from five to seven, its blunt unlike the axe basically a weird hammer with spikes) form three celestial axe (spells eight to nine,) and final form true celestial chaos (ten and super tier spells. P.S RUN!!! or beg for mercy, depends.

Even though Ainz is a higher level he needed to be able to be a world enemy and last in his boss fight against forty plus full level players so I'll say his stats where maxed because his species only his skills and abilities will be affected by his level. So yeah, he will still be about Ainz's level of strength when he doses reach Lv 200.
Now back to Ainz he now has these extra abilities.

additional skills Ainz has as a world enemy other than his really high stats and regeneration of health and mana
- deaths guide (Works in tandem with his overlord advanced undead summoning, he can either create upper tier undead four per day, create middle-tier undead twelve per day, create lower tear undead twenty per day, and the final ability is to cast resurrection on one or multiple people once a day costing nothing.) (whether the creation of each tier of undead is tied together I can't remember so I'll just assume it is for now and change it later if I find out differently)
- Stead of corruption/Carriers of Death (summons a max level bicorn, soul eater, Slepneir hybrid capable of crossing a continent in an hour.)
- Devine aura (as if dark halo combined with a true darkness letting all the world fade away leaving only Ainz visible and the overwhelming pressure that makes you question if the darkness is a glimpse of his true form and the skeleton just a vessel)
- Voice of God, causes his voice to echo through reality itself causing the very foundation of magic to shake, all who hear it shall feel it reverberate in their soul.
- A lords blessing (a blessing to strengthen allies raising their level up to five, ten for faith casters with a bit of your do temporary in Yggdrasil but not in the new world especially with faith casters) spells cast within the next hour are weaker by 15% as it's cost, will cost a small bit of xp if targit is over level 78.
- Gods sight (to see a person to their vary soul can only use in person, it's blocked if looking through a magic item but otherwise it can’t be fooled.)
- The first sinners/the cursed lords (calls forth the twenty-four undead prisoners of Momonga six Overlord wisemen, six Overlord Generals, six Overlord Cronos Masters, six Overlord Reapers/Executioners (attached to the lore the Devs of Yggdrasil gave him when he became a world enemy.) Op I know but that's what this fic is going for.
- Memorys of the lost. (Calls upon the fond memories and souls of people he met through his characters long life giving him a boost in strength and resistance allowing him to easily beat Rubado in seconds and his spell cost and casting time are halved totaling to seventy-five percent with his world enemies normal fifteen. lasts for two hours a day)
- Void's true nature, (a form given to him by the devs as a caveat basically just makes him a bigger target but gives him the Memorys of the lost and a lord's blessing for all nearby allies, as long as he's in it. Basically, picture a massive skeletron from terraria with the divine aura around him although it would look more like a cloud instead of tendrils of liquid. For scale a human could stand on the tip of his finger.
- Specialized world enemy spells that only they can cast unlike their skills require mana: Skeletal remanent, summons spears made of an accent being's bones that hum with primordial energy that absorb the life force of other still living beings turning them to ash and stone. Arch soul rending drains an opponent's life force healing double of your own. Deaths Call a spell on level with super tier taking almost twice as long to cast to counter his lesser casting time it was used to extract the souls from armies and can't be blocked and causes instant death only way to block is with an immediate resurrection item grants Ainz there xp. Death's wrath summons all of the dead the opponent recently killed in hordes helping take them down. Times passed a spell meant to age items or gear forward in time turning anything with durability to dust, far more versatile in new world. Deaths embrace a spell on level with tier ten that causes instant death on contact or any melee attack. (More to be added in fic)

Chapter Text
Momonga the first undead, waited in a grand circular room known as the limitation with many golems lining the wall, as the grand throne room doors opened to reveal the even grander hall lined with massive flags and pillars with a grand carpet leading to the throne. Releasing a sigh Momonga started down the path to the throne thankful none of his guild mates ever trapped the door. The footsteps of the Pleiades and Sebus reverberated through the room as they fallowed.
As he walked he thought about herohero having stopped by only to leave just as quickly. His attention however was pulled from his thoughts as he got closer to the throne, he was notified of a world item being nearby checking its location finding it on one of the two figures by the throne. Albedo who stood unmoving near the throne only bowing when he got near as most of the npc’s were programmed to do. He thought about removing the world item but knowing a friend of his put it there he thought better of it.
He then turned to the other who was sitting next to his throne, his son, or so everyone had said having programmed in a backstory and everything with Albedo as his mother, Momonga's consort ‘ha as if I could get a girl like that.’ The boy was barefoot wearing the most simplistic white robe and pants with black hair and blood red eyes, and two sets of feathered draconic wings. His clothes simple as they were glistened silver having been made of the most precious metals they had in store ‘can’t give the young prince any old gear now could we,’ was touchme's teasing response when he brought up the waist of materials for a npc who couldn’t participate in combat.
Momonga unable to argue or even find the will to be upset, having realized that even pretending, they made an effort to have pride for his son. So with that in mind he made him a purple scarf allowing the wearer to move through solid objects. The boy now staring up at him the same blank expression as always pained his heart reminding him of how lonely he felt. Suppressing the thoughts of 'if only this world lasted a bit longer,' he turned to the npcs following him ordering them wait here before they still fallowed as he took a step.
Oh right, “what was the command again, stand by,” to which the npcs went to the side and kneeled in what was probably programmed reverence. Momonga then continued to the throne sitting down the staff of Ainz opal gown in hand and regretting he hadn’t been able to level up the prince more gave him a pat on the head having switched off the negative effect of an undead touch. He then started naming off his friends and reminiscing while looking at their individual crests.
‘We truly had a wonderful time here didn’t we’ he thought as he closed his eyes content to play his part as world enemy being over the void ruler of Nazarick as the clock went to midnight expecting the forced log out noise to play. But it didn’t, he quickly opened his eyes to find himself still in the game “…what’s going on.” He found himself saying, ‘was the shutdown postponed’ he thought as he checked the time before trying to pull up the gm menu. Trying and failing, he tried to remain calm thinking on why he couldn’t open it, did I get stuck in the game because it’s collapsing code.
“What’s going on,” his voice irate echoed through the throne room. This was supposed to be the end of this glorious world the perfect end are the devs messing with us. He hadn’t expected a response but one came, “Is something wrong lord Momonga?” He turned to the direction of the one who spoke finding himself shocked seeing Albedo as the source. A moment passed before she repeated the question and to his shock her mouth moved with her words.
His brain practically short circuited as she got closer saying “please excuse me, but is something the matter?” He found himself enough to respond, “No, I’m fine… Thank you.” He frantically remembers an old saying of the guild, ‘panic breads disaster.’ So, calming his heart he breathed in before realizing he could smell a floral sent coming from albedo. ‘That shouldn’t be possible even if they secretly made a transition to a new game basically kidnapped him which would be impossible to get away with, they couldn’t upgrade his headset to something that doesn’t exist yet.’
‘Ok calm yourself Momonga broaden your mind, don’t let your thoughts take you prisoner.’ He thought to himself as Albedo got closer threatening the calm he just regained before asking again, “are you sure my lord you’re alright you sound quite upset.” Momonga trying not to squirm in albedos gaze thinking sense she acted so real it would be weird to order her to back off so he answered, “I can’t access the gm call.” Momonga took a second realizing how beautiful the woman in front of him was before she answered sounding ashamed, “Forgive me my lord but I do not know of this gm magic you speak of. Please allow me to wipe the stain of this failure away…”
‘Where having a conversation is it just Albedo,’ he thought before another voice pulled him from his thoughts as well as interrupting Albedo with youth clear in his voice, “Mom you're being dramatic.” Momonga’s head snapped to his right to see the dark-haired boy still sitting crisscrossed next to the throne looking all too real as he brushed some hair out of his eye. He found himself panicking again before he felt the emotions easing down already, ‘Wait how am I already calming down, no not important right now, what is important is the fact Albedos not the only one and there talking to each other as well.’
‘If they’re doing that then,’ “Sebus, Maids!” Momonga called to them having Albedo move to the side in front of the kid, his kid, no their programs he said to himself as he refocused on Maids and Sebus who had looked up from there bow saying in unison, “Yes my lord?”
“Come to the foot of the throne.”
“Yes sir!” They replied before springing up and walking over with what only could be perfect posture before entering into another deep bow at the first step leading to the throne despite him not using any command phrases.
Momonga noticing this turned back to Albedo feeling something else was also off. Albedo however having noticed his gaze asked, “yes my lord have I done something to displease you?” He felt a small noise escape his mouth at being caught staring before realizing what was off. He reached his right hand up feeling his jaw as he mouthed the word impossible feeling his jaw now with the word the entire reason they needed emotes was the fact their faces wouldn’t move. As he pondered this revelation along with the realization of being able to feel the individual grooves oh his face, he was only partially aware of the conversation happening next to him.
"Mom why would dad be upset? You didn’t do anything.”
“Maybe that’s it I’m not anticipating his thoughts as I should as the head of the floor guardians and his consort!”
“uuggg Mom… what dose anticipating, and consort even mean again?” The boy asked sounding exhausted but still tilting his head in confusion at her words before Momonga interrupted having decided he needed more information than just behavior and new functions, “Sebus!”
"Yes my lord,” came his immediate response looking up mating Momonga’s gaze with an expression that seemed to be the embodiment of the word earnest. “Leave the tomb and observe the terrain in a half a mile radius around us, and if you run into intelligent life negotiate on friendly terms to bring them here.” Momonga said after debating whether he was able to issue commands deciding they should still be loyal. “Yes sir, I leave right away.” The butler replied bowing his head again proving that even though npcs shouldn’t be able to leave the guild in Yggdrasil for the moment it seemed to not be the case.
Momonga then looked back to his son who had gotten up from the floor now using his wings to hover an inch above the ground unnaturally silent next to Albedo probably not wanting to touch the marble floor with his bare feet. He silently regretted never giving him a proper name before focusing back on the task at hand, he needed help. He would contact the admins, but the gm call was down so what was left of his options was the spell message. ‘Does magic still work,’ he thought before dismissing it seeing the floating kid and his impossible quiet wings before him. The question of whether or not he could still do so without a saved hotbar of spells was another matter entirely.
He needed to test that not wanting to think about the possibility of being so defenseless in this crisis. If the npcs are loyal to me how long would it stay if I’m that confined. Realizing he needed to not show weakness he turned back to Sebus and the Pleiades giving them an order in a tone that hopefully seemed like one a ruler would use, "Sebus take one of the Pleiades with you and have her retreat the second you get attacked that way we can still get whatever information you managed to gather. The rest return to your duty’s on the ninth floor.” His words were met with the words, “yes lord Momonga.”
“Now go immediately.”
He watched silently as they left the huge door opening and closing for them before turning to Albedo who had stayed who was waiting patiently with a soft smile, her eyes slightly wandering to her son who was now looking at him as well. ‘Is this truly still a game,’ he thought to himself seeing his reflection in Momonga’s son’s eyes. The game had been detailed even slightly to close to reality, with the only tells being the unmoving faces, slightly off reflections and the smallest amount of fuzz around objects. There was no fuzz around the child, the child his guild mates called his son, the reflection in his eyes wasn’t off there wasn’t even a flaw in them.
"Now my lord Momonga, what may I do for you,” Albedo asked pulling his attention back to her. “Oh… right,” he said before looking her over remembering what would be impossible to get away with without getting banned realizing he had the perfect way to know if they were even in the game anymore the idea both terrifying and exiting even if it was completely impossible. So settling on his actions he said, “come here.”
“Yes of course,” she replied sounding overjoyed as she quickly came to him making him worry about the wand in her hand for a moment before pushing the worry away as she got to him leaning in leaving barely a few inches between them. Feeling slightly flustered he reached for her free hand touching it. “…Ngh.”
“Hm,” Albedo had winced causing Momonga to pull his hand back in worry quickly realizing after worrying if he grossed her out it was the undead skill negative touch which also made him realized friendly fire was on which had never been an option in Yggdrasil. “Sorry I forgot to suppress negative touch,” he said feeling awful for hurting her while trying to mentally turn off the ability. Before laughing mentally realizing any overlord power should know be as natural as breathing.
“Never you mind, Lord Momonga. That level of damage wasn’t even really damage. Besides, I would suffer any agony for you…” Albedo replied breathing heavily as Momonga felt like he would be blushing if he had skin. “Oh… um still I’m sorry.” He said remembering she had been programmed to love him as Tabula’s joke with the rest of the guild joining in on commenting on the fact, he hadn’t visited the Mrs. in a while or taken her to the royal suite the memory nearly causing another mind breaking panic realizing they technically had to sleep together. However, he swallowed the thought for now about to reach for her hand again when something made a noise to his right, “Ummm.”
Momonga and Albedo both turned to see the flouting world enemy second only to him in power in all of Nazarick. Hiding his face looking anywhere but at them. ‘Right kids don’t really like having their parents be lovey dovey at his age.’ But ignoring the fact he just admitted to being Albedos lover in a way, addressed him, “Uh… why don’t you head up to the sixth floor and hang out with Aura and Mare.” The six-year-old quickly nodded before disappearing instantly from sight with the feeling of someone teleporting popping into his mind seeming to parallel the alert he would receive if everything was working as it was supposed to, he had most likely teleported with the guild ring Touch had insisted on giving him.
So glad to know that still worked apparently, he and Albedo turned back to each other. “May I touch you?” Momonga asked nervously with Albedo responding smiling eagerly, “Yes nothing would give me greater pleasure.” Momonga swallowed nonexistent spit while reaching for her hand taking it in his own. Finding her hand small and smooth to the touch he insisted tried pushing those thoughts away instead feeling her warmth and to his real surprise a pulse. He looked her over seeing her breath heavily and her face flush he couldn’t help but think, ‘she’s supposed to be code how could code even hope to come close to this. His mind finally broke past his reservations of rationality thinking ‘she’s real there real this can’t be coded.’
However, his mind still asked what if I’m wrong. He then got an idea that would tell him without a shadow of a doubt. Mainly because it would get him banned instantly. Now however was the hard part actually doing it because if they were alive, he would feel awful taking advantage of her like that. ‘She would be basically Tabula’s daughter I can’t do that,’ he thought to himself before the memory of Tabula pushing Albedo to him laughing tried, “she’s all yours now Momonga, even programmed her to be the prince’s mother.” So, realizing if she was real, he was married to her or at least had made love to her in her memories, so his mind now in quite the panicked state managed to stammer out, “May I… touch… your chest?”
The hall felt ten times quieter than before the silence passed Albedo eagerly answered seeming to drool slightly, “Yes my lord I relish the chance to let you have your way with me.” She quickly raised her chest up to his face where he thought whatever he did to deserve this wasn’t good enough, before raising a hand using all his will to keep it still felt her up. Albedo’s breathing increased as she let out a sigh apparently vary happy with him with Momonga trying to focus on the fact that he did it and was still here. He pulled back after a moment pulling whatever was left of his thoughts now thinking this can’t be real how the hell could this be real. “It’s probably an update or the new game they… no the bandwidth alone would be impossible.” He gulped down another nonexistent saliva at the realization that the world he and his friends had made was now real.
“My lord, shall we make a sibling for the young prince,” Albedo said pulling is attention back to her, her words slowly sinking into what was the undead equivalent of a brain causing him to immediately panic stuttering out, “there is no need to do that right now we don’t have the time.” Albedo quickly backed away kneeling on both knees saying sounding apoplectic, “my humblest apologies. I shouldn’t prioritize my feelings of desires when we are having an emergency.” Momonga immediately felt bad having instigated the situation even though he had needed to know what was going on, ‘Ah crap I’m supposed to be her husband aren’t I, what would a husband say!’
“The fault is mine Albedo… I find you quite captivating… at times.” Momonga said miraculously, keeping his voice level while he clenched his armrest and staff to keep his hands from shaking. Albedo’s wings happily flapped frantically at his words while sitting up still on her knees before he continued, “Now as for the task I have for you.”
“Yes of course, your wishes are my command,” She replied bowing again her wings coming closed against her back.
“Go gather the other floor guardians with the exception of the floor guardian of the eighth floor.”
“Yes lord Momonga I’ll leave right away,” she said with him gesturing for her to go before she turned making her way out of the grand hall. As the doors closed behind her, he released a groan saying to himself, “Dam it Tabula you were just having fun but, I can’t even flirt with a girl how am I supposed to be married to one…” or raise a child with one.’ His thoughts finished the sentence with him immediately thinking back to the boy that just left. A boy who was now real and was his. ‘No, I’ll think about that later first I need to make sure I have some back up if any of the npcs are planning against me.’ So deciding to start with the golems in the next room he got up from the throne making his way to the door feeling the great distance of the room for the first time needing to use his actual legs instead of a controller.
Momonga ordered the last of the golems to go back into place having made sure they only obey him. Even if the npcs he saw before were loyal he was not about to take chances. So having the guards back in place he looked to his hands seeing the ten rings on his fingers, ‘I wonder if I can wear more on each finger now that I’m not in a game,’ but pulling himself out of that thought for later he summoned the staff of Ainz Opal Gown from hovering a few feet away glad it still seemed to be working properly. “Ok please work for me,” he said to himself trying to use the guild rings teleportation willing the image in his mind into being.
Then to his relief the scene in front of him shifted to a dim stone corridor an iron gate up ahead where children’s laughter emanated from beyond it. He approached already suspecting the source of the laughter looking down into the amphitheater to find the floor guardian Mare being chased by his son apparently playing tag while Mare’s sister sat on the upper floor ledge looking down watching them play in the massive colosseum providing most of the laughter. As the iron gate opened for him announcing his presence to the three, they stopped looking towards him before Mare bowed with Aura quickly jumping down fallowing suit. His son however smiled and flew up to him while giggling stopping just before him. “Dad you want to play tag with us?” The child asked setting himself on the ground before him smiling up at him in what can be only absolute adoration. He had taken this kid around the tomb many times trying to get him to level up in fact he had only just recently stopped when the shutdown was announced, but those eyes now pierced his soul more then he new possible.
Having taken into account that the kid Infront of him was real he had planned to pat him on the head as a father would. What one person plans is often different than what they can bring them self to do or in this case holding one's self-back. He had seen those eyes now knowing they were actually filled with real life, and he broke seeing a child made by him and his friends he had spent hours with him, having managed to get him to level one-hundred and fifteen. He found himself falling onto his knees pulling his son into a huge cradling the back of his head as he realized just how small he really was. The boy took a second to process the sudden hug before returning it in full force smiling as he barred his face into Momonga’s robe. Momonga then pulled away slightly standing up but keeping a hand on his son's head said, "Perhaps another time, I'm actually here to test something. Oh uuhh Mare, Aura there's no need for that right now, and I hope you forgive me for intruding upon your fun." Remembering they had company he had turned to the two still bowing a good distance away calling to them. They both got up Mare holding his staff in a shy manner while walking over to the stairs with Aura seemingly confident as she jumped coming before Momonga in a single leap before saying, "You must be joking lord Momonga you are the absolute ruler of Nazerik, no guardian could ever consider you an intruder least of all me and Mare."
Mare then appeared at Momonga's side apparently having taken the stairs before the cross-dressing dark elf said, "sorry for making you wait lord Momonga." He turned to mare smiling slightly or felt himself smiling given he had no skin to do so with, before he replied before moving his staff slightly turning to it, "It's fine, now I'd like for the two of you to help me with something." His moment caught all three of the kid's attention with Aura asking in awe, "Is that the staff of Ainz Ooal Gown that only bends to your will lord Momonga?"
"The vary same, this staff was created by the efforts of the guild members a testament to are dedication, the staff of Ainz Ooal Gown. Each stone in the mouth of the seven snakes is a god level artifact, on top of that the power in the staff itself transcends god level on pare with a world item. In fact, its dps damage alone could one shot a-, well anyways id like the three of you to help me run some tests with it." Aura and Mare began bouncing on their heels before Aura replied, "really that would be amazing, I'll set up dummies right away."
Aura then whistled with a roar responding in the distance with two large lizard men climbed over the Ampitheater walls a few seconds later and stopping before them and kneeling. "Grab some dummies form storage for lord Momonga," Aura ordered the lizard men with them leaving immediately. As the lizards left Momonga and the others fallowing him headed down to the stadium below with him remembering who else was coming trying to remember the other floor guardian's names, "Aura, Mare the other floor guardians will also be arriving shortly."
"Does that mean Shaltear is coming?"
"Yes, I believe she is Aura," Momonga said wondering why she seem off put by the fact but brushed it off. Instead thinking of all the spells, he could use before settling on summoning a primal fire elemental as they got to the middle of the stadium with the others stopping a few feet behind him. 'It should work like the ring, right? No button to press just concentrate,' he said to himself as he extended the staff out in front of him pointing towards the straw dummies before saying, "Summon Primal Fire Elemental!" Fire immediately erupted burning the dummies away instantly surprising Momonga realizing that since everything is real, damage would happen even from what would have been purely visual effects instead of an attack needing to be initiated.
Turning back to the three unbelievably powerful children he said, "It should be around level 80 it should give you three an interesting sparing session if you want to fight it that is."
"I just remembered, I have a few errands I need to tend to bye..."
"Mare you aren't backing out of this. We'll love to spar with it!"
"Thanks dad, this is going to be awesome!' His son said as Aura kept Mare from backing out of it casing him to let out a timid wine. As they got into position Momonga made his way to the side before turning to watch. "Attack the three before you," he ordered the elemental prompting the first attack. Aura immediately started using her whip to cut into the monster before it regenerated its body, Mare quickly coming in to shield his sister from an attack. Momongas son however had pulled out his wand in axe form and slashing at the summoned creature as he flew past it leaving a tear of reality leading to a realm of what looked to be collapsing stars before closing back up the summand monster taking a good chunk of damage.
'It looked realistic in the game, but this is something else entirely I can actually feel the heat,' Momonga thought to himself as he watched the battle unfold before him, 'well I guess now would be a good time to test message after all my other magic works, it feels like I can feel the amount of spells I know there ranges, what they can do how much mana they need.'
"Message," but after a moment nothing happened, 'Dam it nobody seems to be out their player or gm, or is the spell faulty here let me try,' he cast it again with it connecting only after a second, "I'm here, is there something you need lord Momonga." Sebus' voice answered proving the spell works so trying not to dwell on the fact he might be the only person here decided to gather information, "Sebus how is everything outside."
"There is a slight problem My lord."
"Hmmm I've called all the guardians to gather come to the Ampitheater on the sixth floor at once. You can report what you saw once you're here." Momonga decided met with Sebus agreeing and disconnecting from the spell as the fight before Momonga ended the primordial elemental turning into a spire of flames before dissipating. "That was fun lord Momonga we haven't exercised that much in a while," Aura said as the three approached him. "Then you three must be thirsty," he said pulling a pitcher of water and three glasses from his inventory poring them each a glass.
The two dark elf siblings seemed surprised at the gesture before drinking while his son gulped it down without a thought. "I have to say lord Momonga I thought you'd be much scarier."
"Oh is that so, I could do so if you wish."
"No, I like you this way it's the best!" Aura said Mare nodding in agreement with the prince of Nazerik jumping in walking next to him, "I don't think dad could ever really be scary." Momonga turned to look over the amphitheater getting lost in his thoughts, 'It seems like the npcs are all loyal to me, and my son however wasn't programmed to be loyal not like the others at least, we just had him idolize me, dam that's another reason I need to keep up the stoic leader facade, how am I going to keep that up? Well, no matter dwelling on anything but the present, if we are in another would I need to learn all I can about it, I wonder how strong I'll be here. I was a max level world enemy in Yggdrasil so I should be at least a heavy hitter hear. Should I try going back, I didn't really have a life there other than Yggdrasil so this might actually be perfect for me, Although I certainly hope I'm not the only one."
He was pulled from his thoughts when he felt a gate beginning to open, turning to it he found a white-haired and deathly pale girl clearly a vampire only slightly then the children. "My, my, it would seem I'm the first to arrive," Shaltear a true vampire guardian of the second and first floors of Nazerik said. "Oh my, Lord Momonga the one man I could never rule above my eternal beloved," the girl dropping her parcel it dissolving as it hit the floor, ran up to him grabbing at the hem of his robes pulling him to look down slight.
"Hay... I'm already married right? Plus, my sons right there,' he thought as Aura apparently sensing his discomfort said, "stop that Shaltear you're starting to slobber on him."
"Hello, half pint I didn't realize you were here. Having such a foolish older sister must be difficult Mare, however do you manage it?" Shaltear said pulling away from Momonga to talk.
"Miss fake tits."
"WHAT!"
"Just as I thought, that's why you went through the trouble of using a gate, you were in a hurry but sense you overstuffed your top so much you worried they would shift if you ran here," Aura said sounding quite proud at figuring it out with the prince apparently holding in a laugh at the accusation. "Wach it elf you've got nothing but a boy chest," Shaltear exclaimed hiding her chest by crossing her arms while Aura seemed to take her insult with pried giving her a smug smile. "Well, I'm still growing unlike you being trapped in that Undead body of yours maybe you should learn to except those bug bits," Aura said prompting Shaltear to run up to her and started bickering, "How dare you I'll make sure you regret that..."
Momonga however barley paid attention to the two instead thinking back to when there sibling creators fought like that all the time. "Stop this ruckus," the voice coming from a massive blue insect like monster with four large arms, "Stop acting like children in front of the master and the young prince." Cocytus the guardian of the fifth floor and a virtual personification of the word warrior. "I'll stop when this elf bitch pays for her lies," Shaltear said apparently not relenting before Cocytus started freezing the floor seeing as the two were about to get physical.
"Thats enough, Aura Shaltear we don't have time to be playing around" Momonga said realizing he needed to put a stop to this while accidently activating his godly aura while trying to appear intimidating and in control of the situation. Darkness slithered out from him coating his surroundings behind him into a void with dark tendrils slinking out from it going close but not quite touching the five before him, 'why are there... Oh well I did want them to listen, it would be awkward to deactivate it, plus I now know my world enemy statis is unchanged.' The two he addressed bowed low saying their apologies before he turned to Cocytus and saying, "Thank you for coming Cocytus."
"I will always come when you call."
"Sorry everyone, I hope you weren't waiting too long," came another voice interrupting Momonga, the voice belonged to a tall man wearing a red suit and tie. Demiurge the insanely powerful demon responsible for the seventh floor and leading the other npcs in a crisis got in the line that had started to form naturally. Albedo then got in front of the other guardians and bowing with the rest fallowing suit before she spoke, "My lord we the guardians pledge are fidelity."
"Raise your heads, I am very pleased you all have come," Momonga said feeling a like he looked depressed as he leaned into to his aura more. "Your thanks are wasted on us we've pledged ourselves to you and your heir and live to obey you, my lord. I fear that are abilities might not meet your expectations, despite this we'll strive to meet them in the honor of the lost supreme beings, this we vow," Albedo responded with all the guardians joining in on the vow leaving Momonga's thinking, 'what do I say to that, why isn't there a manual for this!'
"Most excellent my guardians, I have no doubt that you'll fulfil your duty's without fail," the guardians smiled as he outstretched his arms in what he hoped was a regale demeanor before letting them rest at his sides again before continuing, "Now then, the situation outside the great tomb is at present entirely unknown to us. With this in mind I had Sebus survey the surrounding area." Momonga turned to his left to see Sebus waiting nearby who bowed slightly at being addressed before coming before him and the guardians kneeling between them maintaining his proper deminer while doing so.
Momonga's aura of void pulling back slightly from where Sebus was, instead going around him leaving a patch of floor visible unlike Moronga's son who while easy to see with his multicolored wings the darkness didn't avoid surrounding him, whether it was the fact of his heritage or the fact he was standing next to himself, Momonga couldn't say. Momonga tucked that thought away for now giving his full attention to Sebus as he began to speak, "My lord I'm afraid the swamps that once surrounded the great tomb of Nazerik are gone replaced by grass land fields. Furthermore, I can't confirm a single building human or other species within one kilometer it would seem we are isolated for the moment."
"Thank you Sebus you've served me well, as I suspected the great tomb of Nazerik has been transported to an unknown land by equally mysteries means. Floor guardian leader Albedo and defensive leader Demiurge I have a task for you." -Momonga
"Lord." -Demiurge and Albedo
"Fortify are defenses, and work on a way to start gathering information. The rest of you follow their lead, now Mare is there any way to conceal the tomb." -Momonga
"Yes lord Momonga, although using only magic would be difficult if all we use is magic, but if we use dirt and vegetation to cover the walls it should protect us from intruders." -Mare
"You want to taint the sacred walls of Nazarik with dirt?!" -Abedo
"Albedo don't make needles remarks." -Momonga
"Yes, forgive me lord." -Albedo
"Are you confident dirt would be sufficient Mare." -Momonga
"If you allow it yes, except..." -Mare
"Right one random mound would look unnatural. Sebus are there any random hill around us that we can blend in with, if not then we will have to make some of our own. We can then use magic to hide what we simply can't cover." Momnga said turning to Sebus.
"It is as you say My lord the land might as well be farmland with how flat it is, dummy hills however should be sufficient," Sebus said seeming to glance at Mare in what was probably a comforting gaze before Momonga said with Mare nodding in agreement, "Excellent then that is what we'll do... Now onto my final question I'll have each of you to answer." 'Now would be a good time to check if Death's judgment works how it would lore wise instead of just showing me the inventory of my target,' He thought to himself before turning to Shaltear and asking, "First Shaltear, in your own words tell me what kind of person I am to you."
"Beauty incarnate there is nothing living or undead that can compare to your radiance," 'If only I could get Albedo away from you, you'd forget about that salty bi-.'
"Cocytus," Momonga said moving on knowing he could now read their thoughts whether it was a good thing to do with Shaltear was another matter.
"A man whose strength is unrivaled by any guardian, you are truly worthy of rulings the great tomb of Nazarik." 'It would truly be my honor to help you guide the young prince in life so he may truly be just as great.'
"Aura," Momonga turned to her while making a mental not to put Cocytus as the first choice of training his son and possibly babysitting not that he'd need it much.
"Compassionate and your always three steps ahead of any game." 'And could probably shatter the world in a thought.'
"Mare." 'Do they all have that high of an opinion of me, how am I supposed to live up to that!'
"You're our leader who is kind as well as merciful." 'I still can't believe he poured us water with his own hands.'
"Demiurge." 'Aww thank you mare, but still, I'm definitely not that great.'
"A man who makes wise decisions and acts on them accordingly without hesitation. Also, your enigmatic nature makes it nigh impossible to predict you." 'To even believe for a moment that one knows your unfathomable thoughts is the highest form of sacrilege.'
"Sebus." 'Nooooo Aura at least had my strength down I can barely play chess.'
"You are the head of the forty-one supreme beings and even though the others left us you stayed with us to the very end." 'Your character alone makes it an honor to serve you.'
"And lastly Albedo." 'At least Sebus has somewhat accurate image of me.'
"You are the highest-ranking member of the subprime beings, the one who resides over the void. Our ultimate master and the ruler of Nazarik, as well as the man my heart belongs to who so graciously allowed me to bare your heir who stands alongside you," 'May you show me such an honor once more.' Momonga slightly caught off guard by the praise and the images that had been passing through Albedos head stumbled slightly in his reply, "gh- uh, yes I see, I have heard your thoughts and have given you your orders go, work faithfully in my name."
"Lord," the guardians replied and Momonga not being able to stand there seriousness much longer teleported to one of the many hallways on floor 9, however realizing to late he had forgotten to address his son before leaving, 'dam it should I have brought him with aggg, I'm already a crap parent.'
As Momonga teleported away the guardians felt the enormous presence that was their master leave as the darkness there master projected dissipated. Demiurge new better than that however having long suspected that that darkness was but a glimpse of their master's true self. He had heard rumors from the other servants about how their creators used this vary coliseum to test their own might against lord Momonga and it had been close, but the world enemy master of the tomb stood victorious. Demiurge repressed a shiver as he turned to the young prince who stood looking at the ground where his father had been only seconds before. Demiurge went to get his attention before Mare beat him to speaking as Albedo stood up signaling them to do the same.
"That was terrifying it felt like one word would wipe us from existence, I nearly passed out," Mare said followed by Aura saying, "Seriously I thought the presser would crush us."
"To think, his power is truly greater than we can understand." Cocytus said standing up with albedo finally speaking, "when he shows his true power and authority, he's even more glorious than I imagined." Demiurge got up fixing his glasses position before saying, "Indeed, the young prince truly has a father to be proud of."
To Demiurge's delight this seemed to bring the young master out of his thoughts casing him to look up at the guardians with Cocytus stiffening ever so slightly. "Forgive me young master I failed in asking if you need any assistance," Cocytus said bowing again now towards the prince of Nazarik. The prince looked surprised raising his hands and waving them in front of him as he said, "What no, I... was just wondering why my dad didn't ask me to do anything." Demiurge gave what he hoped was a reassuring smile saying as he took a few steps towards the kid, "I'm sure he just didn't wish to trouble you. It is also a failing on are part to have your father troubling himself with these events."
"Demiurge is right sweety, let us take care of things for now I'm sure your father is just concerned about your and the tombs safety," Albedo said walking to the young prince and scooping him up, holding him with her left arm with him wrapping his arms around her neck. Albedo turned to the others with the prince turning his head to look at the guardians before Sebus joined in saying, "If there is nothing more, I would like to return to my duty's. I do not know where our lord has gone within Nazarik but wherever he is it is my job to stay by his side."
"Very well Sebus, perhaps you can take the young master along with you," Albedo said setting her son down as they faced Sebus. Sebus gave them a nod in response before saying, "Of course, if the young master wishes to come, I would have no right to protest." The winged kid gave a nerves nod before walking up to Sebus before they both turned to leave the room leaving the guardians with the heir of Nazarik waving timidly as they left. The guardians had a moment of silence before Demiurge broke it having herd faint whimpers coming off Shaltear, "Is there something wrong Shaltear?"
"Are you hurt, ill?" Cocytus asked sounding worried before Shaltear looked up blush clear on her face as she answered, "No, I'm fine just a little overstimulated is all. His power was so intense my underwear went through a small crisis." This earned a grown from the other guardians fallowed by Albedo shouting still however facing away from her, "Disgusting bitch, in front of my and our lord's son and heir, and you dare get off on his father?!!"
"Don't pretend you think he will be the only heir our lord sighers, you were simply chosen to bare the first. As for the gift he gave us, sharing a glimpse at his untold power, if something that incredible doesn't make you wet you must be rancid beneath that skirt!" Shaltear accused her murderous intent creating a glowing red aura around her as she insulted Albedo. Albedo did the same glowing a deep purple that projected pure rage as she responded, "You filthy parasite, I should rip you in two for that!" "I'd like to see a bigmouth gorilla like you try," came Shaltear's response as the two got closer in there screaming match.
"Right, Aura, I'll let you work on calming them down, you're probably better suited to handle issues with other woman," Demiurge walking a few yards away fallowed by the other male guardians giving the feral woman space as Aura protested, "What!! Don't dump this on me."
"I'll intervene if it starts to get bloody, good luck," was all he said leaving her to deal with it. "At least they waited till the young prince left, it's hard to imagen he would take Shaltear's comments well," Cocytus said as they stopped walking. Demiurge's smile lessened slightly as the disasters image played through his mind before saying, "yes I believe it would be a true disaster the young heir would definitely not be pleased and his father even more so if we upset his son." the guardians all nodded silently before falling into another long silence with the only noise being the two-bickering woman in the background. "I know it is not my place, but do you think lord Momonga would allow me to train the young prince?"
"Hmmm, so far I believe his training has been from are lord himself and I doubt even I could scratch the surface of the lessons imparted to him," Demiurge said while Cocytus began to sulk before he continued, "Although with how busy we will probably be getting with this new world he might ask us to pitch in on his training."
"Oh, I see, then I shall happily suggest it when I get the chance."
Demiurge smiled at his fellow guardian before turning back to the three females and asking, "Aura have things calmed down enough?"
"The cat fights pretty much over there basically ignoring each other though," Aura said turning around and pointing behind herself with her thumb, the other two guardians however stood facing away from each other with their arms crossed. Demiurge grimaced slightly before speaking at first softly to himself before raising his voice to grab every one's attention, "that will have to suffice for now then. Ok we all have are orders let us not delay in fulfilling them as floor guardians of Nazarik, we mustn't fail are master."
"Right, for lord Momonga!" everyone said in unison before heading out to their tasks.
Notes:
Sorry if it seemed stiff in places the beginning of overlord has Ainz all confused about what's going on and I didn't account for that fact. I promise it will get better in future chapters when he has a little more control of things, and we move away from cannon. Trust me it will get better, also I will be updating the information in the first chapter having fined tuned my ideas for the fic.
Chapter 3: Time spent with those you cherish and protecting what you love.
Notes:
Heads up if you are coming from the anime, I'm incorporating additional details from the book, and maybe a few from the web novel (not that I've read anything more than its summary's) so if you don't recognize something that's why. Also, sorry I realized I could have summarized most of this, but I already had most of it down by then hopefully you like the little moments of Momonga's son I managed to squeeze in. Trust me there will be more cannon divergence in the coming chapters but most likely season two. Also, I'm updating the first chapter again so if you want a few extra details and changes, they'll be there. Also, I don't plan on this to be as... well as heartless as the anime is a few more memorable figures I intend to have live (Aka Gazef, Arche, along with the swords of darkness) and probably rewrite the 14th volume entirely thanks to the fact Momonga/Ainz will have a bright-eyed boy looking up to him who curious as he is will ask a few more questions that really throw a wrench into some of Demiurge's massacres.
Chapter Text
It had been three days since he arrived here, Momonga had discovered a few things already. Mainly the reason for his unreasonable calmness, he was now undead which now came with no need for food or sleep and his emotions getting suppressed any time they got too high whether it was a good thing or not was however another question. Still, what was suppressing them however was another matter worth looking into, the next thing he learned was every npc admired him each bowing low to him as he past them. He had also started looking over the npcs programing almost immediately making sure they were all loyal, as well as checking their knowledge on him wondering if any knew the backstory the devs gave him or any other personal details involving him, dedicating himself to not mess up there view of Momonga when he talked to them in person. Most however being as he remembered none actually knowing the story he and the devs created although his titles seemed to be added, however Albedos was a major exception. Momonga having never looked at the changes Tabula made having just assumed he had added one line of code to say she loved him, he was very, very wrong finding four paragraphs detailing the succubus' adoration of him.
'Tabula why, I know you're a perfectionist for detail but come on,' Momonga thought to himself before bringing himself back to the present standing in his dressing room adjacent to his and albedos privet quarts within the royal suit. The room itself was quite cluttered with a mess of robes and Albedo's dresses strung about the place with staffs and weapons placed in no particular order in racks along the wall with him having just pulled out a semi weak long sword the blade seeming to buzz straggly in his hand and was now currently about to test whether class restrictions applied here. Releasing a sigh he made to swing before the blade clattered to the ground. He sensed his son that stood next to him jump back slightly as it clanged onto the floor with Momonga giving a low hum before speaking, "So it's the same. Create greater item." A suit of black armor as Momonga in-visioned it appeared around him his robs seeming to disappear under them.
His son had followed him for most of the time during the three days occasionally getting sent away to play with Mare or Aura if one was free, with Momonga wanting the kid to have a normal childhood instead of having to only hang around his father. He also sent him to bed much to his protest saying he didn't require sleep, but Momonga insisted pointing out how mental exhaustion was still a factor with the added bonus of letting your mind wake up refreshed. That hadn't worked ether, instead having to resort to guilt tripping, pointing out how he had personally helped design that fl- realm and for him to not us it... that worked instantly with his kid immediately rushing off to sleep, Momonga happy he hadn't caught his slip up in calling his room a floor with it technically holding the classification of outer realm and really it was, just sort of separate from his room.
The realm had actually been mostly created by the devs with the only real part they worked on was the garden that located at the top of the islands highest peak. When they had given Momonga the world enemy npc they didn't quite want to waste an original idea, so they had created a story of a shattered realm where players could enter through realm brakes that opened randomly around Yggdrasil although they were kept from getting to the highest peak with it being attached to the tomb and all. The official story was that on the night the dormient primordial eldritch magic found a host the first undead, the mind that first conceived of death casting it into existence when the realms where still new and mailable, (aka Momonga) decided to bare a son the primordial magic forming getting pulled from the void sensing the new god, a new kind of being unlike his mother the lowly succubus or father the overlord death it's self or the gods of Yggdrasil pulling magic from the remanent peace's of realms in the void creating its own existence of magic separate from both divine and demon alike, a true Eldritch deity, the nameless god of madness and reality his father quickly taming the realm for a birthday present to his son. The devs had loved it (and the guild had teased him relentlessly about it), the devs had filled the large flouting land mass with mind flares and other such creatures they had been waiting to implement into the game, his son while not supposed to enter combat with him did have the exception of fighting the players who activated his world enemy boss fight. The only real downside to it was... the fact that the members of the guild couldn't participate in the quests located in the new realm because well it wouldn't do well to have the guild attacking the heir of the guild although they did get some of the drop items with them spawning occasionally in his son's inventory. Momonga also sometimes took the place of the boss fight wanting to actually use his powers since the tomb was impregnable and the devs knowing that, allowed it although in such a cause of his defeat which happened rarely through the years the game had been active, he would just drop the usual quest drops of his son since he wasn't technically the real boss.
Momonga had cheeked it first after meeting the guardians his jaw dropping having been expecting it to be missing and even more shocking was from the minions to the other high level beings his son 'oversaw' bowed and trembled before him shouting their allegiance to their masters father or apologies for not preparing him a calibration in his honor, with Momonga however politely refusing as well as neglecting to visit the six outer world npc gods that where mini bosses that acted as eldritch horror guardian knights not wanting to go over his sons head even if he was still the prince of Nazarick. Now onto the boy himself a being who commanded an entire realm or one quarter compared to the other realms of Yggdrasil which still meant it was far larger than the other floors, had, upon entering the dressing room earlier let out a laugh at the mess causing Momonga to realize he should have cleaned the place before hand as his shame was automatically repressed. Nabe who had been attending them all day didn't seem to mind immediately getting to work tiding the place.
Reaching down again for the sword finding it gone before turning to his son who was now holding it, "Thank you," he said as he took the sword from the boy's hands with the kid smiling up at him in return. Raising the sword up noticing the blade no longer buzzed before bringing it down with such speed it created a gust of wind that caused his red cape to flap behind him before stopping just before the glass cupboard in front of him. 'yep, just as in Yggdrasil if a magic item allow it, I can bypass class restrictions. But what's with the buzzing? Maybe its a result of the worlds natural laws, I mean there must be some explanation as to why anyone despite class can't wield a sword,' Momonga thought to himself as he turned to the mirror that basically took up the hole wall on his left admiring the armor he created. 'No one could mistake me for a caster in this I could get some fresh air while stepping out unnoticed,' He thought to himself as he turned towards the boy who was still looking up at him with his ruby eyes sparkling as they met his gaze.
"We're going outside for a bit," Momonga said turning to Nabe as he repressed a sigh already knowing what she was about to say as a reply, "The guard is ready for you." Momonga let a silent sigh escape his lips or teeth really, he had gotten tired of the constant attendants from his subordinates although feeling bad about it he could barely keep up the ruler's personality ending with him getting mental fatigue probably a side effect of whatever remained of his human likeness since his new body couldn't actually feel tiered. "That will not be necessary we shall leave on our own," Momonga said catching his son's attention clearly surprised.
"My lord I must protest if something where to happen to you while ether of you were out, we couldn't act as your shields and die for you."
"There... is something that I must do that requires secrecy I won't allow any escorts," his reply slightly delayed as he came up with the lie panging his heart slightly knowing they meant well but not wanting to get smothered went with it. Nabe paused for a moment before hanging her head as he handed her the sword he had been testing before relenting after the brief silence, "Understood. be careful, My lord, the same to you my young Lord." Momonga's son nodded while smiling before Momonga abruptly teleported them to a large rectangular room on floor one catching the boy off guard.
The room was lined with tall and slim stone slabs along the longer walls for laying the dead on, not that there were any now. With a staircase behind them leading down to the tombs entrance behind grand double doors, the sconces that lined the white marble room remained unlit with the only light coming from up ahead from the night sky peaking its way through the entry way of the central mausoleum. All he had to do was walk forward and head be outside but what stood before caused him to pause, three demons with him quickly recognizing them, Jealousy had the appearance of a woman with a crows head, Averis a masked man with red hair, bat wings, and horns, with Wrath being the strongest looking his body basically all muscle with an orc like face and horns that curved downwards, 'the three demon generals under Demiurge where supposed to be guarding the red hot shrine demiurges residence near the gate to floor eight, there basically his body guards so what are they doing here.'
After a moment of the demons staring stunned at their arrival with Momonga feeling vary sheepish at the attention he got the answer to his question as Demiurge stepped out from in-between them causing the name to slip from Moronga's mouth, "Demiurge..." the arch devil looked immediately puzzled as his name probably wondering why his master was here with it being kind of obvious who he was with his child standing next to him his wings giving off a faint multi colored glow. Knowing it would be suspicious to keep standing around he began walking forward taking extreme effort to not look at his feet in shame at getting seen having wanted to slip out unnoticed with that plan dashed to pieces now.
As he closed the distance the demons as if it was rehearsed bowed with Demiurge at the front looking refined in his moments as if he had been a nobleman before he spoke his voice equally as refined thanks to his passive skill that would make anyone under level forty vulnerable to his commands becoming his puppet however not many in Nazarick had to worry about that, "Lord Momonga, what in the world are you and the young heir doing out here without your honor guards? And if I may ask, why are you dressed in armor?"
"Hm well... I do have my reasons. And the armor, I'm positive you already know," demiurge proceeded to show various stages of thought as he took in Momonga's words before answering after a few moments, "Forgive me but I can't fathom your thought process behind this lord Moman-." "You may call me dark warrior... for the time being," Momonga interrupted him not wanting the other minions coming through to hear from the three underlings that he had just passed through, although he added the last bit sensing his son's confusion. Demiurge went silent again going back to his thoughts after hearing the embarrassingly generic name before realization shown across his face before saying, "I see... so that's why."
'See what,' Momonga nearly said out loud as Demiurge apparently found deeper meaning to what was really just him not wanting to have all the underlings calling him lord Momonga. Demiurge then continued his voice and face showing absolute grace as he spoke, "Lord Mo- Dark Warrior I managed to grasp a fragment of your profound intensions. It is currently a show of your consideration befitting a ruler as great as you, however I cannot overlook you or the heir of Nazarick being unprotected. Understanding the bother this must be, but I beg you pity me in this request and allow me to accompany you."
"I suppose I have no choice. I will allow you alone Demiurge."
An elegant smile spread across the Arch Devils face as he said bowing his head low again, "I appreciate you granting this selfish request of mine, Lord Dark Warrior, I will not fail you."
"You do not need to add lord with the name..."
"Surely you can't be serious my lord! It would be unforgivable of me to neglect your title, unless such a thing would compromise Nazarick on a mission or directly ordered. Other from that none in Nazarick could dare refer to you lord Momonga-I mean, Lord Dark Warrior without 'Lord'." Demiurge finished his speech leaving Momonga overwhelmed at the demon's seeming sincerity at his title nodding along only hesitating slightly wondering if Demiurge was poking fun emphasizing the name. 'Why couldn't I come up with something better.'
"How rude of me. I am taking up your precious time lord Mo- Dark Warrior..." Demiurge continued before standing and turning back to his demon generals and addressing them, "Now stand by here and explain where I've gone." The demons all stepped to the side before bowing again saying, "Understood Master Demiurge."
"Your minions have agreed Demiurge, shall we be off then," Momonga said at first to demiurge before turning to his son who nodded and said, "Yes." They then made their way out of the tomb with Momonga glancing at the minions thinking on how intercut Nazarick actually was having been surprised to learn they even had a system for communication between floors over seen by Demiurge. How they had such systems he couldn't say chocking it up to minor self-awareness when they were just npcs them even interpreting some decisions he and his guild members made in their own unique way. The main evidence to this being Albedo thinking the ninth and tenth floors where a sort of holy ground the lesser minions had no right entering when in reality, they hadn't put any minions there because anyone who made it that far would have been able to brush even high-ranking minions away with ease.
"Why do you think are lord was dressed like that?" One of the demon generals said after the three left with another joining in, "There must be a reason obviously, although if it took master Demiurge a bit to figure it out, we have little chance." As they voiced their opinions, they felt another floor guardian approaching Nazarick's entrance down the stairs. This being the true reason they had recognized Lord Momonga even if he had come alone and strolled through instead of teleporting the minions that belonged to Ainz Ooal Gown all gave off a certain presence allowing the rest to distinguish friend from fo with the supreme ones feeling like a power that rended one's soul, a fact Momonga was unaware of. As the grand doors leading to the first floor of Nazarick opened at the bottom of the stairs they felt the presence more clearly realizing it was lady Abedo only having to wait a few seconds to see her as she ascended the stairs.
They bowed as she closed the distance, her voice sounding as sweat as ever but still holding an undertone of annoyance, "I came here to see Demiurge please tell me where he might be?"
"He um... Went to accompany Lord Dak Warrior when he passed through just a little while ago. The prince was also with him."
Lord Dark Warrior? I know no minion by that name, and for Demiurge a guardian to have accompanied him along with my son, heir of all of Nazarick, how absurd?" The minions nervously glanced at each other not sure of what to say before Albedo seeing their odd behaver asked a threat edging her beautiful voice, "Might a bunch of minions be daring to hide something from me?" The three felt themselves go as still as stone unable to think of an answer before Wrath spoke up hesitantly, "Master Demiurge judged that Lord Dark Warrior was the one whom we all serve."
"Lord Momonga was here?!" Albedo said becoming slightly frantic. The three felt their nerves calm before Averis answered her, "He refired to himself as Lord Dark Warrior, but..." He however couldn't finish his sentence with Albedo quickly asking getting slightly more frantic than before, "What about his guard? Did they know he was coming here? Demiurge must have known he was going to be here since he had me meat him hear. Ug he couldn't have warned me, I need to make myself presentable." Albedo having been busy for the last three days had slowly gotten messy with bits of dirt on her dress and a few stray feathers here and there on her wings, but before she could leave to change Jealousy spoke up getting her attention, perhaps if you don't mind me suggesting but if you went to him as you are... He would see how much work you have done for him, would he not?"
The general had paused as Albedos wings bristled as she crossed her arms her eyes glaring daggers before softening as she continued. "You think so?" Albedo asked still watching the kneeling demon before another demon answered, "Yes, and if you went off to get ready you might miss him." Albedo seeing their logic groaned slightly before saying, "That makes sense... It seems it's been too long since I've seen Lord Momonga that I'm not thinking straight. It's been... eighteen hours twenty-five minuets and thirty-three seconds, isn't that to long of time to be apart from him?"
The three quickly nodded saying, "That definitely seems long," before Albedo continued, "well then I'll just add it to the list of benefits for when I'm done setting the groundwork for are operations. I can then start guarding him personally, now however slight annoyances aside where did Lord Momonga go off to?"
"He just left the tomb a moment ago lady Albedo."
"Well then I'll be off. Do you really think he really would appreciate seeing how much work I've done for him even if I'm a tad bit messy." With the minions quickly nodding after recovering from the shock at seeing her timid side or the fact that she had a timid side, she practically flew the rest of the way outside.
Nazarick had been originally located in the swamps of Helheim where there was little light with the dark clouds blocking what little there was, now however the sky glimmered with all sorts of color and stars a luminating the entrances surroundings. Momonga let out a silent gasp upon seeing it having never seen such a clear night sky before causing his mind to except just a little bit more that this was a world different from his own having never before seen such a clear night sky thanks to pollution. He sighed while shaking his head a couple of times as if he couldn't believe it before looking down to see the rest of Nazarick's outside, the outer wall and other mausoleums that circled the main one were bathed in the star light the white bricks twinkling ever so slightly. It was the same with the white stone stairs and pathways leading to the front entrance through the neatly trimmed undergrowth that surrounded the many graves that depicted angels or goddesses.
As a single large drooping tree cast eerie shadows across the ground, he went to activate a spell before hesitating realizing there was one problem. The skill that allowed magic casting in armor had been one of his extra world enemy level skills leading into his next thoughts, "Well I can just grab the flying charm or... Can I use them outside of the tomb?" Taking a moment Momonga couldn't help but feel nervus as he cast the spell, "Fly," he felt suddenly weightless as the spell took effect causing a phantom smile to form on his skull he felt himself go giddy before it was suppressed serval times as he proved he had access to his extra one hundred levels outside the tomb. He willed himself up freed from gravity partially aware of his son flying just behind him to his left as he picked up speed. Demiurge also after a moment fallowed after them having changed forms, Momonga however didn't pay it any mind instead continuing to fly up stopping as he saw the world start to curve below him.
He through of his helmet wanting to see better to fine the world bathed in the pale night sky's light with what was probably this worlds moon hanging over the world, he was left speechless unable to form words as the flowing grass in the wind caused it to almost sparkle. "Stunning, no that's to cliché it can't begin to describe this. Blue planet would have probably sold his soul to see this..." Momonga recalled his friend who had loved nature having made the night sky on the fifth floor, he had always loved nature regretting the stat of the world's pollution. 'He would have absolutely gushed over this place,' he thought before getting pulled from his thoughts by the laughter of his son as he whooshed passed overshooting Momonga as the boy said, "Whoaa it's so cool, I've never been outside the tomb before."
Momonga felt himself get slightly irritated as the boy interrupted his thoughts of his friends before reminding himself, he was just a kid and wouldn't have known what he's thinking. "Many in Nazarick haven't, although it was a far gloomier location. This however is far grander, to see this by the light from the night sky alone, it almost doesn't seem real. As if everything sparkled like a box of jewels below us."
His son let out a small laugh with Momonga feeling himself smile as he turned to the boy as he continued to flap his wings keeping him afloat, Momonga wondering how tiring it must be decided to scoop him up shocking the boy for a moment before his wide-eyed face cracked a wholesome grin and looking back to the sky in wonder as his father cradled him in his right arm. The moment, however long it had lasted was interrupted as demiurge's elegant voice reached their ears, "Perhaps it is a box of jewels. This world must be beautiful because it contains jewels you are meant to adorn yourself with lord Mo- Dark warrior and to adorn the prince with as well." Momonga turned back to demiurge finding him in his frog demon form wondering if he was trying to flatter him, before turning back to the view before him and responding, "It truly is beautiful, perhaps these untouched jewels exist to be mine for the taking. You may also stop calling me that name the now."
As he joked he held out his free hand making a fist blocking out the sky as if he had grabbed all the stars in the heavens, even though it was just blocked from sight. Finding his action childish he shrugged as his son let out the quietest laugh before he continued, "No to hoard such things would be the height of selfishness. I should use them to adorn the great tomb of Nazarick, and those who are loyal to Ainz Ooal Gown."
"You are to kind my lord. If it is your wish, I would happily mobilize Nazarick's full force and take those jewels for you. It would bring me great pride to present them to you."
Momonga chuckled softly his son joining in as he thought, 'He must be caught up in this ambiance to, Lucifer would be even more so having been the guild member most obsessed with their "evil" guild states.' Momonga however replied, "It is however a little early for a quest. We know very little about this world, we don't even know how powerful the beings hear are, we could be considered weak... then again, the most enjoyable thing now might be taking over the world."
He had said it as a joke nothing more finding it funny knowing full well that taking over the world let alone managing it after would be a pain. He laughed along with his son unaware that had he been looking at Demiurge he would know the demon had entirely different kind of smile then one of jokes. (He really should have looked back.) 'ha jokes aside am I really the only player here from Yggdrasil, the message spell didn't connect me to anyone... but the effect of the magic could have changed, if that's the case I should at least try to spread the name of Ainz Ooal Gown throughout this world," He thought before something caught his eye far below him. What would have been impossible for a human eye to pick up was clear before him as he watched the earth move in waves to surround the tomb.
'Earth surge huh, seems like Mare is using a skill to help his rage and his class to boost its effectiveness, Well done,' Momonga thought silently before Demiurge spoke up breaking the comfortable silence that had settled over the group, "Lord Momonga, May I ask what you plan to do?"
"I want to thank Mare for his hard work. What do you think I should give him as a reward?"
"I'm sure that he'd be happy just to have you speak to him My lord," Demiurge replied giving a kind smile that contradicted his demon nature to Momonga who remade his helmet with magic as he sighed. Before he could decide what to give him however having not become conceded enough to take demiurges advice his son flew out of his grasp apparently wanting to fly on his own 'aww he probably doesn't want to be embarrassed' before the boy said as they descended, "You could ask him."
"Hm perhaps although then it would feel like more of a favor and less so a gift, I could..." Momonga trailed off getting an idea of what to give Mare when another problem aroused in his head as he saw the guild ring on Momonga jr's hand. Nazarick's inhabitance had seemed to have their own basic assumptions on the stuff he and his guild mates decided to do, for example the fact that only they had guild rings. 'I could give him a guild ring, but how would he take it? How would my son take it, he's technically the only npc who has one, they'd probably think it's because he's the son of a supreme being. Well, we kind of did give him that for that reason but the reason no one else is because it would be useless to give to guards who can't leave the floors there on, now however they'll be traveling around Nazarick, it would save time...'
With his cores of action decided he continued down to Mare on the outer wall of Nazarick as he finished up and turned probably feeling their presence before speaking nervously as he ran over to them, "Oh lord Momonga. Why are you here? Oh no, did I make a mistake already?"
"Not at all Mare. The work you're doing is of the utmost importance. It will protect Nazarick from intruders and more."
"Right."
"I wanted you to know just how satisfied I am, your performance thus far has been exemplary."
"Thank you lord Momonga," Mare said seemingly growing shyer at the praise before Momonga added, "I would like to give you a gift." The cross-dressed elf looked startled immediately protesting before Momonga waved him off, "Lord Momonga It is only natural that I give my all for a supreme being, a reward isn't nece-..."
"Then it is only natural that a good ruler rewards continued loyalty," His voice was calm as he spoke however having guessed his reasoning wouldn't be enough, he added the faintest edge to his voice to keep the argument short. Mare simply nodded before a ring appeared in Momonga's outstretched hand earning a gasp from his son and Mare with the dark elf quickly stammering out, "My lord you must have taken out the wrong thing, that's a ring of Ainz Ooal Gown... but... Only supreme beings are allowed to where an item like this. I can't possibly except!"
"There's no need to panic Mare, moving between Nazarick's floors can be difficult, this will allow you to do so unimpeded and easily complete your work. Now take this ring and serve Nazarick well... I also plan to give them to the other guardians as well once their work shows me their dedication."
Mare hearing his reasoning but still hesitant reached out his hand shaking as he took the ring from Momonga's outstretched hand and quickly putting it on, the ring shrinking to fit his hand as he did so. He seemed to almost bounce in excitement as he said, "Thank you so very much Lord Momonga. I'll be sure to work extra hard for you in the honor of Nazarick I swear it, I'll be worthy of this gift."
"Good I'm depending on you, Mare."
"Yes of course... um, my lord, if I may ask? Why are you wearing armor?"
"Uh, well... I- um," Momonga searched for a reasonable explanation finding none other than wanting to sneak away for a few moments of quiet and partially because he wanted to run away not knowing how long he could actually keep the act of absolute ruler up for. Mare's eyes staring up at him as they sparked did not help his guilt before a voice cut in, quickly recognizing it to be Albedo he turned finding her landing next to the group before taking a few steps closer to him, "It's simple Mare, the reason lord Momonga is wearing armor and went by another name according to the demon generals as to not disturb our work. If he were to have noticed him right away everyone would have dropped what they were doing to pay homage to their lord as is their duty, but our lord is far more understanding than we deserve and wishes for us to complete are work before such acts of fealty."
'You couldn't have said it less flowery, geez I almost wish you were being sarcastic, wait, is she?' Momonga thought internally as he also used gods sight to put his fears to rest finding her genuine before responding, "you understand my intentions perfectly Albedo, as expected..."
"As captain of the floor guardians it is only natural, I anticipate your needs. Although even if that wasn't the case Id still know your heart," Albedo replied Momonga not knowing what else to say saw Demiurge's expression change a look of what could be indifference or light irritation playing across his face, Momonga's ability still active from before quickly displayed the demon's thoughts, 'sigh* Albedo I know your just trying to be of use to lord Momonga, but do you really need to insult his unknowable mind by claiming to comprehend his thoughts...' Momonga turning the ability off decided against saying anything else happy Albedo gave him the out with Mare.
"Oh, so that's why," Mare said as he looked back to Momonga with renewed wonder in his eyes before Momonga's son asked, "You're not covering the entirety of Nazarick and making the dummy hills by yourself are you?"
"Oh, no there's golems and minions helping with the hills and gathering more dirt to move," As the two boys talked the three adults turned to watch Momonga noticing Albedo's eyes widening in shock as if they would fall from her skull at seeing Mare's hand before her expression calmed as if nothing happened. Momonga did a double take before thinking after wondering if it was just his imagination, 'she might have noticed his ring, well I'll deal with that in a minute, now as to Mare overworking himself.'
"Mare sorry again for interrupting your work, once you finish up with this section, please remember to rest even for a guardian overworking doesn't do anyone good," Momonga said interrupting whatever his son had been about to say. Mare turned back to him looking surprised before nodding saying, "of course lord Momonga I won't let you down, thank you." The dark elf then ran of seeming to be eager in completing his work.
With the rest of the group staying behind to watching the dark elf moving down the wall before continuing his work. Momonga after a moment turns to albedo saying, "Albedo I should give you one as well... It really is an oversight that you don't already have one."
"One what My lord?"
"It will make your work as administrator of the guardians a little easier," Momonga said as he pulled out another guild ring from his inventory earning a small gasp from the succubus, but she took it without protesting unlike Mare. 'Probably because she saw Mare with it,' Momonga thought before Albedo replied slightly shaking as she grasped the ring, "Thank you very much my Lord... Might I also apologies for coming to you in such a state."
Momonga at hearing this gave Albedo a more detailed once over then the one he did earlier, finding her hair barley frizzy and her feathers on her wings only slightly askew in places other than that she seemed to be fine. His son being the first to point it out, "Mom you look fine, dads been having you work, he wouldn't expect you to look perfect." Momonga couldn't help but smile internally at the exchange hesitantly before adding placing his left hand on his sons back, "Our son is right Albedo, I am sorry to be having to put so much work on your shoulders. However, the dust and a few ruffled feathers dose little to hamper your beauty."
"I... thank you my lord your words are too much," Albedo said seeming to shake at the parse as Momonga ignoring that continued to try and wrap his head around the fact that the raven-haired beauty in front of him was his wife, 'should I hug her. Kiss her... wait I don't have lips how would that work.' Momonga growing increasingly uncomfortable with his own thoughts tried distracting himself, "ahem, speaking of your work, how is you and Demiurge's information network coming along?"
"We already have some of our groundwork laid out... we have also finished setting up an early warning system, we'll know if any living or non-living creature gets within five miles radius from the tomb," Demiurge said stepping forward bowing slightly as Momonga turned back to him.
Momonga paused for a moment before asking, "...Are you using minions in this network?"
"Yes..." Albedo replied.
"There's a spell I think will help reduce the number of minions, the mirror of remote viewing, I'd like you to implement it into the system," Momonga said prompting Demiurge and Albedo to debate on what minion to have watch through the spell or if it should be a guardian to do so while also calling themselves fools for not thinking of it before hand much to Momonga's reassurances that they weren't and they had no way of knowing about it. As they finished Momonga found himself unable to think of anything else to talk about said, "Your work is greatly appreciated, I am also sorry for taking you from your work I have done what I came here to do. I'll be in my... study if ether of you need me. Oh, and I shall prepare a guild ring for you Demiurge another time."
"Of course, and Lord Momonga your apogees should not be wasted on us; it is our purpose to serve you," Albedo said.
"Albedo speaks true my Lord, we are happy to assist you anyway we can. And I can only hope to work hard to be worthy of such gift," Demiurge followed in reply.
Momonga knowing better then to protest simply nodded before looking to his son finding him back at his side. With boy in sight, he concentrated on him and himself the guild ring activating and their surroundings quickly changing before them now becoming bathed in bright light opposed to the night sky's soft glow forcing the two to squint. Unaware that as they departed Albedo let out a childish squeal clutching the ring of the guild to her chest as Demiurge only sighed shaking his head at the display.
Momonga's office had been pretty grand having two floors with a balcony circling the room and a few doors that led to various sections of books as if small miniature studies. That was however until his friends had built the royal suite, the office/study they had prepared for him there was ten times as grand and elegant. The room was twice the size of the old one, the floor was made of obsidian, the walls black marble with the large three-person thick pillars made from a combination of marble, obsidian and laced with ebony. The equally grand doors that lined the three floors' walls led to either of two libraries one containing summoning scrolls and magic books the other being... well an actual library that was partially empty, Momonga wasn't really a collector of Yggdrasil lore so what ever did occupy the room was thanks to the more lore collecting members of the guild.
A long table sat in the middle of the room, lined with dozens of grand chairs you'd expect kings to sit in. A large dark wood desk sat at the end much like his old one only slightly larger to fit the room his Momonga's chair remaining the same with a door to his and Albedos bedroom to the left of the desk. Another doorway parallel to the first on the opposite side of the desk that would have led to a privet bathroom in his old office now led to a second smaller office for albedo, and by small he meant still far more eloquently decorated then earths offices ever were. The bathroom having been relocated to somewhere else in the suite, near the second entrance to their room. Momonga was however sitting at the head of the table in the center of the room, a flouting mirror hovering over it.
Sebas stood behind him observing his master seeming to be carefully moving his hands the image in the mirror shifting as he did so. His son staired intently at the mirror as Momonga continued to experiment with the mirror displaying a road far below them having ben at this for hours of trial and error. As he seemed to get the hang of it, he began moving the view dramatically earning a gasp from Momonga, Sebas beginning to applaud at his apparent success before speaking, "Congratulations my Lord. I expected nothing less." Momonga felt odd receiving praise for trial-and-error work but the genuine admiration showing on Sebas's face put his suspicion of sarcasm to rest.
"Thank you, Sebas, I'm sorry to keep you here for so long," Momonga replied thanking him.
"But My lord, Lord touch me created to serve you faithfully in any task no matter how tidies," Sebas replied bowing his head slightly.
"Still though if you need a break, I wouldn't mind I can't feel the status effect of fatigue as an undead, but I don't believe that immunity extends to your race."
"What kind of a butler would I be to leave my master to rest while you still stay awake, as for any fatigue lord touch me had given me an item to prevent such things."
"Oh, I see," Momonga said still finding it surprising that the npcs knew terms from Yggdrasil like levels, statis effects or even the fact they are npcs although that last bit didn't quite extend to his son. Happy he could issue orders using game lingo and finding it a little bit funny at the npcs talking about the gaming words with a straight and serious face he turned back to the mirror his son appearing in his peripheral vision to his right. Momonga instantly felt bad for forgetting he was there quickly turning to address him, "Although you are immune to such statis effects naturally... my son, I would still remind you that you have no obligation to stay by my side, do not bore yourself on my account."
The demon boy looked away from the mirror and back at him his ruby eyes seeming to sparkle boring into his own eyeless sockets as he said, "but I'm not bored, you're my dad I like spending time with you, plus the mirrors cool can I try." Momonga not knowing how to respond to that turned back from his son his four multicolored wings glowing slightly brighter as Momonga replied, "Oh, I like spending time with you to. And you can try in a second, I still would like to find out more about this strange new world." His son nodded as Momonga began observing the world outside looking for any other structures nearby, soon finding a village about seven miles away from the tomb the buildings simple but still detailed enough to recognize as architecture from the Middle Ages not quite like Yggdrasil's Nordic themed buildings although it did prove this world wasn't as advanced as earth. Looking down he noticed dozens of people running about every which was odd for this early in the morning earning a question from Momonga, "A festival?
"No, definitely not," Sebus said leaning in slightly as the only change to his steely expression being the noticeable squint in his eyes trying to get a better look his brow furrowing slightly. Momonga quickly zoomed in finding what could only be described as a massacre. Men in plate armor running after villagers wearying simple clothing slaughtering them where they stood Momonga felt surprised realizing the sight didn't make him feel sick or disturbed before however he could contemplate his emotions he noticed a man in the mirror who had been fighting two knights fall to the ground having been stabbed, Momonga could swear he made eye contact him despite the fact one would need anti intelligence magic to do that but before he could dismiss it he saw the man mouth as blood dripped from his lips, "please my daughters."
"Your orders my lord?" Sebas asked.
'What should I say, I don't feel the urge to help them, it wouldn't benefit the tomb... and I don't want to anger any kingdom when I still don't know how strong the people of this world are," Momonga thought before replying still uneasy about his cold reasoning, "leave them be I see no good reason to intervene in their affairs."
"As you wish my lord," Sebas bowed closing his eyes as he did so Momonga felt a weird feeling pass over him, turning to Sebas almost wondering if the man was upset or at least uneasy about the decision he could have sworn he saw the visage of touch me startling him his friends first words to him coming to the front of his mind, 'because saving those in trouble is always the right thing to do.' Momonga had well found the corniness of the line hilarious however soon found out how much Touch me had abided by that principle, the memory caused him to laugh they hummer however staying bellow repression levels before he noticed his son looking shocked and slightly concerned as he laughed. The realization came to him, like Sebas he had high karma statis despite being classified as a demon even if the title was just in name, 'he probably didn't like the fact I was practically saying let them die, sigh* and touch would have jumped to be the first to save them I wonder if he remembers him at all. Guess now's a good time to test my strength in this world I'd have to do it eventually anyway.'
The mirror then showed two girls running away from the village probably the man's daughters the oldest of the two receiving a cut along her back after stopping to help up the younger girl. Momonga wanting to reassure his sons belief in him got up from his chair before saying giving a small laugh before saying, "Ha, here I am forgetting myself, Touch would be appalled by such brutal violence. I should strive to live by his example Touch Me even as an undead I should strive to do no undeserved harm. Sebas raise Nazarick's security level to maximum while I'm away and have albedo meet me there armed and ready for battle then prepare reserve troops proficient in stealth or capable of the invisibility spell ready to move in at a moment's notice."
Sebas bowed low saying, "Consider it done my lord. And if you'd allow me to say, I would think Lord Touch Me be honored you hold his beliefs so highly." Momonga not knowing how to respond to that simply nodded before a quiet almost timid voice drew his attention, "Um can I help." Momonga paused trying to figure out what to say not wanting to put him in dangerous but seeing how he definitely wanted to come from the tone of his voice, but knowing he was pressed for time he summoned his staff from his inventory as he said, "Arm yourself, along with your mother and be prepared to run at the first sign of danger." His son hesitantly nodded still however smiling greatly as Momonga cast a spell, "Gate."
Nemu could only cry as her sister hugged her to her chest blocking the armored men from her view, Nemu feeling her sister's grip slacken slightly as the knights who had been laughing at them as they ran fell silent. Nemu slowly looked up wondering what happened seeing the armored man's sword having been mid swing above her sister before it fell to the man's side as the horrible man staired passed them. Nemu turned to look finding what looked like red light pulling in darkness around it forming a floating wall. The knights in apparent shock cried out, "what is that." Nemu felt her eyes glue to the strange object before she wished she could look away; a skeleton clothed in infinitely dark robes its eye sockets filled with red light burning their way into her soul a red orb hovering in his exposed rib, while holding cage golden staff the metal twisting and turning topped with several snakes each holding a different colored jewel stabbing into the dirt as the monster stepped out of the apparent nonexistent dark shifting wall.
Enri hugged her sister tighter as the figure of what could only be death loomed over them the air almost freezing over. There were no other words for the entity before them it was death manifested wearing intercut black raven robes its bones picked clean of skin and muscles now bleached white as the vacant orbs that would have been eyes blazed with fiery light. She could only hold her sister tightly realizing there was no escape and the most she could ask for is for it to be quick as death stretched out a hand before she heard its voice sounding aged and commanding, "Grasp heart." Enri hear the knight behind her fall landing to her left barley seeing it in her peripheral vision but not daring to let her eyes leave the force of nature before her didn't even spare the soldier a glance.
As the solder fell to the ground Momonga made a final realization killing the man had meant nothing to him, no sympathy no self-loathing, just empty. 'Interesting it seems I've stopped being human in the mental capacity as well as physically and emotionally. I'll think about that later though, for now I'm just glad that ninth tear undead spell worked if it hadn't, I would have had to garb the girls and retreat since grasp heart has at least a stun affect if the target has defenses against instant death spells.' Momonga then stepped around the girls shielding them from the remaining soldier as he shouted in fear, "It's- it's a monster." Momonga finding the man pathetic as he backed away raising a sword in fear replied coldly, "What kind of man could murder women and children but doesn't have the nerve to face me? Well, I'm here now, you'll help me test my power weather you want to or not."
The man finally tried running away as Momonga stretched out his right hand again pointing as he said, "dragon lightning." Momonga had chosen to use a fifth-tier spell despite its weakness and the fact he was far more proficient in ghost magic having wanted to test their strength before saying, "Pathetic, that was only a weak fifth tear spell." Momonga then turned back to check the girls he had protected finding the older of the two starring back at him still shocked and almost afraid, Momonga wondering why she was still afraid but knowing now wasn't the time for questions decided to test his overlord skill, "Let's try making an undead, Death knight." a black mist formed above before descending onto the body of the solders body he had killed first soaking into the armor before the body rose twitching before black goo started spewing from its helmet coating the rest of it before it started to change shape and size. Momonga flinched away slightly thinking, 'Whoa it's taking over a dead body, they would just spawn in Yggdrasil.'
The body was tuned into a seven-foot black spiked armor its face rotten and seemingly full of hate baring a black and tall shield and a twisted sword in his opposite hand, as the transformation completed Momonga issued an order pointing to the remaining solider on the ground, "Death Knight go and kill anyone in the village wearing that armor leave the others alone." The death knight then ran off letting out a roar not hesitation on the orders Momonga reaching after it realizing he should think out his orders more clearly before issuing them since unlike in Yggdrasil summoned monsters cand go where you tell them to instead of just sticking close to you, 'Why summon a defensive monster if I'm just going to send it away?" Before however contemplating summoning another having the ability to summon at least eleven more, three before he couldn't cast deaths guide with his skills and then he also realized he could probably just summon one of the twenty-four first criminals, he heard two new sets of footprints behind him as the gate closed.
Turning Momonga found Albedo and his son had arrived Albedo wearing demonic black full plate armor her wings hidden probable beneath holding what was probably a very heavy axe that seemed lighter than air in Albedos grasp her pure white horns to were covered by the helmets own dark gray armor which could have been seen as decretive to anyone unaware she actually had horns her helmet even hiding her eyes behind a dark slit in the armor. His son however seemed to be the complete opposite, wearing pure white plate armor elegant in design his blood red eyes visible through the holes in his helmet modeled slightly like touch me's. with armor around his horns like his mother, his wings to hidden within the armor with a cape displaying the night sky now hanging over his shoulders as if a window to another world existed in the fabric. Momonga recognized it as the armor he would wear in the first stage of his boss fight, his staff in celestial axe configuration in his right hand.
The sight was only slightly amusing with the boy being only a few inches taller than the girl currently being shielded in her older sister's arms but holding in the chuckle knowing the boy before him would definitely give him a run for his money despite the 75-level gap his world enemy levels where the ones to count along with his special skills not even including unique world enemy spells on level with supper tier spells. "Forgive me my lord it took me longer than expected to get ready," Albedo said after a moment.
"My forgiveness is not needed Albedo, you arrived perfectly on time," Momonga replied.
"Thank you for saying so my lord. Now then, how would you like me to deal with these pathetic lower life forms?" Albedo said turning to look at the kneeling girls who whimpered slightly.
"Didn't Sebas tell you... never mind we're here to save the village from the ransacking soldiers," Momonga said turning to look at the girls he rescued as Albedo inclined her head showing she understood before Momonga continued, "Let's see... it looks like your bleeding, here drink this." Momonga then pulled out a low-level healing potion from his inventory having them only really to give them away since they didn't work on undead, so extending his hand to give her it he noticed the older girl grimaced and younger flinch away slightly before the older one finally spook reaching for the elegantly crafted bottle, "If you insist but please don't make my lit-."
She was however interrupted by her younger sister grabbing her arm pulling it back shouting, "No don't drink it Enri, please don't drink it." Momonga was startled at the sudden action thinking, 'come on I just saved your lives what gives.' However, before he could calm them down, he heard Abedo's beautiful voice now filled with wrath, "How dare you insult your savior." She had raised her axe above her head ready to cut the siblings down, Momonga found himself instantly shouting with his son at the same time as he stepped closer to his father looking to his mother, "Albedo don't lower your weapon at once."
"Mom there scared!"
"Of- of course forgive me I was carless," Albedo replied hesitantly seeing as both he and his son had told her not to. Momonga then turned back to comfort the two girls finding his son had stepped in-between his mother and them during Albedo's planed killing. The boy knelt to the ground now almost at eye level with the younger one saying, "Were going to help. Why- why are you scared?" His question was answered when the girls glanced back to Momonga, his son followed their gaze looking probably confused under the helmet realizing they found his dad terrifying. Momonga sensing the opening quickly said, "Oh, yes, I forgot humans tend to find my appearance... off putting." Momonga then leaning down handed the older girl the potion as he said, "This is a healing potion, not blood please forgive the misunderstanding."
The older girl blond girl who he now knew as Enri took the vial gulping down the potion the scrapes and bruises along her skin vanishing probably along with the nasty gash on her back. "I assume the pain is gone now?" Momonga said standing back up.
"Yes, it is," Enri replied still surprised.
"Hmm, tell me, have you ever heard of magic before?" Momonga asked wondering if they had been also freaked out about that, 'If that's the case I definitely can't blame them for being scared after what I just did. Also, if that's the case that's one less thing to worry about although I'll have to keep even a lower profile if that's the cause.'
"Um, yes. I have a friend who frequents our village. He's a pharmacist who practices magic." Enri replied.
"Perfect, then it's not hard to understand. I am a magical caster as well. Anti-life cocoon, protection from arrows wall." Momonga said casting two spells a large green glowing clear dome surrounding the two his son having stepped back to his father as he had been talking. "I just cast to protection spells around you. You both should be safe as long as you stay inside. But, just in case take these," Momonga continued pulling out two small horns from his inventory tossing them into the bubble, "If you blow the horns an army of goblins will appear to do your bidding. Do not hesitate to use them if needed." Momonga then turned to the village to help with whatever remained of the soldiers with Albedo and his son turning to follow when he heard Enri call out, "Excuse me."
Momonga stopped waiting for her to continue with his son actually turning to pay attention, "Thank you so much for saving us. We are forever grateful." The red-haired girl then said her voice clearly that of a toddler high in pitch Momonga realizing now that he had a moment to think about it that she was probably only a year younger than his son, "Thank you very much, mister!"
"It was no problem," Momonga replied still turned away.
"Uh, wait! May we please Have the name of the man who saved us?" Enri asked before Momonga could start walking again.
Momonga for some reason passed on this before realizing what he must do, "My name?" 'Yes, they all should know.' "You shall remember it well. and tell everyone of my great powers. I am Ainz Ooal Gown!" (Yes!!! I finally get to say Ainz Instead of Momonga) Momon- Ainz turned around at this point finding the two girls bowing side by side looking up at him in wonder and gratitude. After a moment passed Ainz noticing his son look to him in surprise at the name change before shaking it off as Ainz said, "Now stay safe till I or one of us comes back to get you, it should only be a moment." With that the group made their way to the village Ainz realizing covering up his skeletal features might be a good idea.
Ainz found the death knight in the center of the village where the soldiers had gathered many of the villagers for a mass execution. The death knight however had put that on halt having killed a good chunk of them with the rest of them looking ready to run for the hills. Having made his introduction and forcing the remaining soldiers to run to tell their boss of his 'kindness', he then reassured the villagers he was here to help despite their unease he put their mistrust to rest claiming to want compensation earning their acceptance of his help. Having put on a mask he had received for staying logged in over the holidays and mettle gantlets he had told his son to go and fetch the two girls but to see if he could use his magic to alter their memory of his appearance.
The village chief after seeing that the rest of the villagers were set to work helping temporarily fixing stuff around the village the attackers had damaged as some gathered there dead for a funeral the chief invited him into his home to discuss his payment for his deeds. The chief becoming surprised when Ainz asked for information rather than money, Ainz had claimed to be a hermit who spent his life studding magic, so he was out of the loop with the world at large. They were eager to educate me about the surrounding area to repay me for saving them although he wondered, 'What kind of people use magic in this world that these presents would trust my story without a second thought.' Ainz had even used Gods sight to check if they really believed him along with seeing if he could use it like how it operated in Yggdrasil finding the man before him and most other in the village where around level 10 most levels regarded in agriculture however it seemed to feel as if some where already caped but as if feeling loosely caped if that made sense with the elderly chief capped at level fifteen.
Ainz chocked that up to something he must investigate later although considering this was real life it wouldn't be as easy for those to level up with age probably baring elderly people from growing in levels related to strength as he listened to the chief, he had learned this village was located in the border between three kingdoms that regularly fought with the soldiers having been dressed in the armor of the Baharuth empire with this being the kingdom of Re-Estize land Momonga felt happy not having stepped on the any local authority. However, they could have also easily just been from the third nation the Slane Theocracy, trying to stir up trouble between the other two, 'dam I should have taken one of the soldiers for questioning. ugh anyway its best not to dwell on the past.' Ainz had also learned that unfortunately his currency was worthless here other than the gold it was made from with the chief's wife estimating they were worth at least three of their gold coins even more so considering there fine and delicate craftsmanship of a Valkyrie and tree engraved upon its surface. With the added fact that this world had also copper and silver coins with little to no detail put into them only the symbol of the kingdom or trading guilds before the Chief seemed to notice his wandering mind.
"Is there something bothering you sir gown?" the man asked the map sitting on the table between them.
"No, anything is fine. Is there anything else of impotence that I should know about?" Ainz asked.
"Well, the closest city to our village is E-Rantel goblins ogres and other such things inhabit the surrounding area. but you shouldn't often see them if you stick to the main roads. The adventures hunt on that land and do a good job at keeping those monsters at bay." The chief continued explaining.
"Adventures?" Ainz asked.
"They're mercenaries who take care of monsters and other similar jobs in exchange for money. If you're looking to hire some of them there's a guild in E-Rantel where you can request their services," The chief said barley missing a beat probably getting used to how out of the loop Ainz was.
"An adventurers guild... And just how big of a city is E-Rantel," Ainz asked.
"I unfortunately haven't been, but it is far bigger than our village that's for sure," the Chief replied.
"I suspected as much," Ainz said before going into thought, 'If I want to find out more, I should make a name for myself in E-Rantel.' A villager then came in before anything else could be discussed telling the chief the funerial was ready. The chief turned to Ainz almost as if asking for permission, Ainz not knowing how else to reply he inclined his head in what was an affirmative response. Stepping out of the house Ainz found Albedo and his son waiting patiently by the door before wordlessly following behind him as they made their way to the hill with now covered in freshly made graves for the fallen the stones that marked them marked with soot with there not having been enough time to carve the names onto them. Ainz stood a distance away under a lone tree thinking to himself as he fiddled with a resurrection wand under his robe, "I could use a couple of my wands of resurrection and still have many to spare or even my world enemy skill deaths guide, but... Would they be as trusting of a magic user who's as good at reversing death as he is at bringing it. I can only imagine how much trouble I'd get myself into if I cast it."
Ainz heard the girls he had saved earlier finally break down over what was their parents' graves after the chief finished his short and solum speech asking the six gods to watch over them. "For now, I'll restrain myself. They should all be content with the fact that I saved their village," Ainz continued to think as the villagers continued to grieve not failing to notice his son fidgeting unconfutable at the sight. letting the wand rest in his pocket he took his right hand placing it on his sons shoulder his left hand still holding the guild staff. Ainz's son looked up to him before looking back to the villagers the solum event soon wrapping up.
After the funerial the villagers immediately went back to work, Ainz now walking around Albedo to his right with his son opposite his mother. 'Thanks to my good dead the name of Ainz Ooal Gown saving Carn village should spread across the countryside, any players from Yggdrasil should be able to seek me out. I shouldn't kill any humans without a reason I don't want to antagonize any players, plus if a man with a reputation has a cause it'll be easier to ally myself and win the support of one of the three countries even if the soldiers are weak, they may still have someone within the countries higher than level 200 maybe even 500. Sigh* I'm exhausted,' Ainz thought as they walked before finally coming to a stop when he realized how tiring this was for his still human mind. Ainz then said wanting a nap, "Today's mission was a great success. Let's head back home."
"Right away my lord," Albedo replied.
"Ok," His son simply stated. A man carrying a large wooden bored passed them nodding to them saying hay before continuing on Albedo seeming to track the man with stiff movements catching Ainz's attention. "You seem to dislike humans." Ainz said albedo turning to look at him as he spoke.
"What's to like about them? They are weak and pathetic. Just tiny insects that exist to be crushed underfoot." She coldly replied.
Ainz noticed his son staring at his mom and then at Ainz as if waiting to hear if it were true weighing what she said against whatever he said in response. 'Geez no pressure, come on think of something good to say before he sees them as worthless,' Ainz thought before responding, "Listen to me. I want you to show them respect. Act if you need to, but I demand you treat them with kindness. Strength is a gift, and letting a gift define your actions is quite foolish when you think about it."
Albedo grunted in surprise before hesitantly saying as she sighed, "Of course, lord Momo- Ainz." He noticed his son nodding while also seeming to think about what he had said, Ainz happy to have heard many of Touch's beliefs was happy he had remembered enough bits and pieces to pull that little nugget of information together. Still, 'It feels hypocritical to ask that of her when I don't have feelings for them either I hope I can still hold onto some humanity even as an undead.' He quickly wiped away the concerning thought instead pulling his focus on the world around him seeing a group gathered around the village chief looking concerned. 'The problems keep stacking up,' Ainz ground internally as he approached before asking, "Village Chief. Is there something wrong here?"
"Lord Ainz, thank goodness your still hear. I was just told there are more soldiers heading towards the village at breakneck speed." the man replied, his worry lessening at seeing him.
"Is that so... Don't worry I can handle this situation. please gather the surviving villagers into your home. When you're done, come meet me at the town square." Ainz said raising his free hand in a calming gesture.
The crowed smiled as the chief responded, "Yes of course we'll begin right away." It took surprisingly little time to gather the survivors into the home with the chief meeting them in the town square just intime to see the squad of soldiers begin approaching the center of the village the horses' hooves thundering on the ground. Ainz however noticing the clear difference in armor then from before felt himself relax slightly although still keeping his guard up noticing the men's and horses' uneasy attitude towards his death knight with many of the men grasping their blades close. Some however pulled their gaze from it to study his son seeming to notice the cloak around his shoulders and his red crimson eye's.
As they steadied their horses that seemed to want to run from the knight the man at the lead his face a mask of calm and professionalism that could only be achieved through years of battles and experience introduced himself, "I am the Chief Royal Warrior from the kingdom of Re-Estize, Gazef Stronoff. The king has ordered me to hunt down the knights that have been attacking surrounding villages. Your people are safe now, we will do all we can to protect you."
"Thank you, general Gazef." the chief said seeming to surprise Gazef having been focused on Ainz now turning to the chief. "Are you the chief of this village? Who is this man standing beside you? he looks peculiar," Gazef asked studding Ainz closely. The village chief went to introduce him before Ainz interrupted wanting to get to the point, "No need to worry about that now. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, General. My name is Ainz Ooal Gown. I'm a simple magic user who stumbled upon this town while it was being ransacked by those knights."
The general's eyes widened slightly in surprise exclaiming, "what," as he got down from his horse, the mount moving out of the way having probably been trained to do so. Gazef then approached Ainz and the group saying, "These people would've been lost without you. Thank you, sir Gown." Ainz realized at his use of his last name that they seemed to be closer to western tradition explaining the look he had gotten from the village chief when he had requested, they call him Ainz along with the apparent auto translation this world had noticing the words not corresponding to the movement of mouths not matching up earlier. Ainz however was unable to respond with another knight coming up from the rear shouting, "General! We've spotted a large army and there surrounding the village as we speak." The group released a small groan while Ainz sighed inwardly, 'Of course.'
Chapter Text
They had moved to one of the more defendable houses on the outskirts of the village putting several of the robed men who surrounded the village in equal intervals into view. Next to them was what Ainz recognized to be something reminiscent of the archangel flames from Yggdrasil causing him to wonder how they got to this world. Ainz stood to the right of the window with Albedo and his son behind him, Gazef stood across from him, they, having told the villagers to stay close to the death knight now patrolling the center of the village where now assessing the enemy. Ainz was pulled from his thoughts as one of the knights spoke up to Gazef, "Sir, it looks like they've surrounded us in equal intervals."
"Do you have some idea of who they are?" Ainz asked turning away from the opening to Gazef who was still looking out at their enemies. Having put the staff of Ainz Ooal Gown in his inventory scolding himself slightly at brining the guild weapon outside the tomb, Ainz's hands now resting at his sides as they had been observing.
"Only the Slane theocracy could send out this many magic casters at once. And it looks like there part of a special ops unit directly under the head priest. It must be one of the six scriptures." Gazef replied, Ainz able to surmise the scriptures were most likely there more elite forces from the context.
"Then the men who attacked the village earlier...?" Ainz asked already suspecting the answer.
"Theocracy soldiers no doubt. They must have dressed in imperial armor to throw us off." Gazef replied.
"As I thought. Does this village hold some significant value?" Ainz asked. This question took the warriors attention away from the window at Ainz before saying, "If you don't know why there attacking, Then I'm assuming they're not after you, which means one thing." Ainz understood immediately saying, "It would appear you are quite despised, Chief warrior."
"Indeed. well lucky me, to think even the Slane theocracy wants me dead. I wonder if they had a hand in getting the nobles to request I leave without my normal gear well it doesn't matter now," Gazef said with a sigh as the two turned back to the window. Ainz not catching the last bit instead pondering on how these people had monsters from Yggdrasil adding onto his many questions, like how his death knight still stayed even after his time limit was spent almost ten times over by now. Although realizing the fact the spell overtook a human body could have been a factor but before he could even get more sidetrack with possible experiments to run, he was pulled back again by Gazef's voice, "Sir Gown, I would like to hire you. Name your price and I'll make sure you get it."
"Sorry, but I have to decline," Ainz replied.
Gazef grimaced slightly before saying, "Are you sure if we were to borrow the summoned undead?" Aniz paused for a moment before reasserting, "I'm afraid I still must refuse." Ainz continued to look out the window seeing Gazef turn to look at him his eyes probably filled with determination before he then made another attempt to persuaded Ainz, "And what if I invoked royal law and forcefully drafted you into my unit with my authority as Chief Royal Warrior."
Aniz felt Albedo stiffen behind him a chill running up his spine, his son even fighting Ainz sensing a small bit of anger even from him. "I'm sorry but as you can guess I would have to resist such an action," Ainz replied seeing Gazef glance at the two behind him. Ainz had raised a hand to his left signaling the two to not do anything rash. Ainz however unaware of Gazef's immediate thoughts as the short interaction played out before him, 'from the look of those two let alone Sir Gown we would be dead in seconds. The smaller one looks like a high tired summon to, if that's the case and he can control it and the undead we definitely have no conceivable power here. Although if it's not a summon then it's gear is the stuff of legends, and our odds remain the same.'
The two staired at each other intently before Gazef was the first to look away saying voicing his thoughts, "Then I would guess annihilation would be what awaited us if I tried that." This earned a chuckle from Ainz before he answered, "Ha, being annihilated might be a bit of a stretch but I'm glad you understand." Ainz bowed slightly as he finished speaking seeming to take Gazef's words as a joke, Gazef having turned back to the magic caster knew he hadn't been joking, every instinct in his body told him this was a man not to cross. 'Just who is this Ainz Ooal Gown? If he wasn't wearing that mask, would his face be one I recognize? Or...' Gazef thought as he studied his mask before Ainz seeming to sense his interest asked, "Is something wrong? Is my mask crooked?"
"No, sorry forgive me I was just thinking your mask is quite preocular," Gazef replied apologetically. Ainz let out a low hum before saying, "Yes I agree it is quite odd although, I suppose it is rather rare, it should be impossible to get another one now... It does allow quite a bit better control of the undead." Ainz lied not wanting Gazef to request he remove it. Gazef simply nodded before saying, "I see truly I am sorry I was unable to convince you to help, there is no use waiting around here so I fear it is time we must depart. Please take care and thank you again, this village and I owe you a debt of gratitude."
Gazef removed the glove from his right hand before extending it to shake his. Ainz realizing it was a show of respect felt slightly bad being unable to remove his gauntlets, but Gazef didn't seem to mind as he took his hand. "That is not necessary, I had just found them in distress and decided to help," Ainz replied simply.
"Yet I am grateful, which is why I hesitate to ask. This is a selfish request but... please lend your strength to this village once more if the theocracy remains adamant on its destruction," Gazef said his words filled with sincerity as he looked into Ainz's eyes behind the mask. Ainz was shocked at the man before him resolve, so much so he had to remind himself to speak before Gazef cut him off, "That..."
"I have nothing to offer you now but if you ever you find yourself in the capital on my honor as Gazef Stronoff..." Gazef said placing another hand over Ainz's before pulling them away as he went to kneel. Ainz however went to stop him finding the gesture to extreme having just been a regular office worker a few days ago. Placing a hand on the man's shoulder stopping him before saying as the man looked back up to him, "There is no need for you to go that far Gazef. I understand. I will be sure to protect the villagers, I will even place the name Ainz Ooal Gown on the line."
"Then I'll be ridding into this battle with nothing to fear. Instead, I shall focus on the task before me," Gazef said standing back up with a nod. "If you are going then I insist you take this with you," Ainz said pulling an item from his inventory using an overlap of his cloak to hide the fact he was doing so. The item was smooth wooden carving rounded on one side with what almost looked like a frog's face on the other near the flat end. Although Gazef didn't seem to mind its odd appearance saying, "You're giving me a gift? I gratefully accept it. Thanks."
Gazef took the object from his hand placing it in one of the pouches at his belt as he gave another respectful nod to Ainz. "I wish you luck General Stronoff," Ainz said, Gazef smiling back at him in return before making his way out followed by what solders where in there with them. Ainz silently followed him out followed by Albedo and his son, Gazef already mounting his horse as they left the building making their way over to him. Gazef turned back to them as the rest of his men mounted up getting ready to leave. "I hope your travels continue sir Gown; my home is open to you if you ever visit the capital."
"I shall look forward to that master Stronoff I can only wish you a safe journey back to the capital."
With a nod Gazef then turned to his men barking an order to move out with the unit quickly following behind the general. Ainz let out a small nonexistent breath thanks to the lack of lungs as he watched the group leave before he said voicing his thoughts, "When I first met the humans, I saw them as nothing worth saving... It was in honor of Touch Me that I helped, but the more I speak with them the fonder I grow. Like a child among helpless animals."
He could feel Albedo and his sons gaze turn to him as he spoke even as he faced away from them. "Is that the reason you were willing to promise the honor of your great name to his request, my lord," Albedo said Ainz turning slightly in her direction realizing she had been calling him her lord the entire time despite the fact it was just her and their son. 'I'll have to address that later I wouldn't want him to think his parents had no relationship outside of work. Dam it, how am I supposed to raise a kid I barley had parents myself, I'll put a pin in that for now, like everything else...'
"Perhaps... no, it was because of his resolve, he knows he faces death, yet he marches forward all the same," Ainz said as the last of the troops left. The village chief then calling out his wife next to him as the two approached, "Lord Ainz, those marauders are still out there why is the chief warrior leaving?"
"It appears he was their true target, and this village was just his bait," Ainz simply replied.
"Then should we stay here as he deals with these criminals?"
"Hmm... that would be unwise we should take shelter on the opposite side of the village as the chief warrior draws their attention. If he is unable to drive them back, we shall make our escape," Ainz said already having formed the plan earlier. The two humans smiled with the chief saying, "Of course I'll gather the others thank you again Lord Ainz." Ainz nodded as the two left before he noticed the pair pass right by a clearly inhuman creature as it approached Ainz Albedo and their son, Ainz recognized the creature as an eight-edged assassin leaving him wondering how no one else seemed to notice it when he remembered that they could turn invisible with Ainz's only able to see him thanks to his high level.
The ant like monster seemed to bow as it staired in a somewhat metalic creaking voice, "I hope you are in good spirits lord Momonga." Ainz had to stop himself from telling the creature to quit the flattery with his son standing next to him, so he simply got to business, "I assume you are one of the forces I had Sebus mobilized." The creature nodded before answering, "That is correct my lord there are four hundred stealth units under me ready to raid the village."
"Wha... there... we are not here to attack the village; the issue has already been resolved. Who is your superior?" Ainz said stumbling slightly at the sheer over kill of the units while also taking note that Sebas apparently sucks at the game telephone. "That would be lady Aura and lord Mare."
"Inform them to lessen their force to thirty as to not get in each other's way and take out any individuals that seem ready to ambush the village or the unit of solders that just departed."
The creature bowed before saying, "I'll get right to that my lord." As the eight-edge assassin left Ainz thought back to the head warrior, the man had been surprisingly level thirty clearly a warriors build but what struck him was that he seemed to have other levels overlapping, stuff like survival skills. 'I'll have to look over the villager levels again, and I should ask if Gazef is known to be one of the stronger individuals of this world," Ainz thought as they turned to make their way to the chosen shelter Ainz already starting to monitor Gazef through the item which while only a gimmick item aloud the user to override most counter intelligence spells, that is at least kept the damage they would do from reaching you.
Ainz stood with his son and Albedo with the other villagers in the building scattered about the room. While to some it looked like he was doing nothing in reality he was monitoring the situation outside with magic finding the picture of Gazef and his adversaries fighting forming inside his head as if he had two sets of eyes. The feeling was only slightly disconcerting soon getting used to it while also noting how weak the summons actually were, although considering the levels of the villagers and Gazef they were strong in this world's eyes. He had learned from the chief that Genral Gazef was considered to be the strongest warrior in the surrounding kingdoms and looking over the villagers again he found in truth they were level one or two making him realize that their earlier levels didn't count with some having cooking skills and agriculture or even reading which also gave him more information on how this world differed from Yggdrasil.
While in Yggdrasil you had to delegate levels for any provided skill or you wouldn't be able to use it, for example in Nazarick only two could cook and no matter how many times anyone else tried without the levels the meal would fall through. So Ainz added it to the ever-growing experiments list to see if it was still the case. Listening to the theocracy he found them irritating with how prideful they were being with what looked like there leader taunting Gazef before summoning more angels. Ainz watched as they slowly took down his men allowing them to focus their full attacks on Gazef, and while the attacks were weak tier three summons with a tier four angel summons buffing them, he still found it admirable that he had lasted so long against their number considering he was only level thirty.
As his men laid either injured or dead their blood soaking the grass as the sun got closer to setting, he got up one last time his attackers seeming to humor him halting their attack mocking his resolve while threatening the pointless manicure of the village pissing Ainz off having just saved them and put the name of Ainz Ooal Gown on the line for them, Although he was surprised with Gazef mentioning him telling them they didn't stand a chance. Ainz however agreed with him seeing their forces, so knowing victory was absolute he activated the item he gave Gazef saying, "looks like it's about time we switch."
....
The scene before Ainz shifted, Ainz, his son, and Albedo now standing before the theocracy the sun setting to their left the dead and injured around them vanishing with Gazef from the grassy plain. The theocracy backed away slightly in surprise their leader taking notice of the smallest of the three, 'Is that a summon, what is it? No matter I need to see what's going on.' So slightly irritated at Gazef's disappearance Nigun asked, "And just who are you supposed to be?"
"I'm pleased to meet you people of the Slane theocracy, my name is Ainz Ooal Gown, but please call me Ainz," The man replied his voice calm and almost sincere as wind bellowed around his robes sending a shiver through the army. Nigun shook of the feeling figuring the chilling wind was a coincidence as Ainz continued, "I have something of a relationship with those villagers." It was then that Nigun spoke up realizing why this man appeared, "Oh, have you come to beg for their lives or just your own?"
"No, No I believe you misunderstand me," Ainz said the wind around him picking up around him sending a chill through the army's spines as he continued his tone soon shifting irritated, "I overheard your conversation with the chief warrior. You really have a lot of balls don't you, I spent my precious time and energy saving those people, and yet you brazenly declare your intent to slaughter them. How offensive."
"Your being rather brazen yourself for a simple magic caster. So, tell me what do you plan to do about it?" Nigun asked unaware that his prideful tone annoyed Ainz.
Offer your pitiful life to me without resistance do this and they'll be no pain. However, if you refuse, I swear you shall know true agony for your foolish actions, for you have no chance against me," Ainz said extending his right hand out before clenching his fist. His words sent scoffs and gritting of teath through the sunlit scripters forces clearly angered, Nigun understanding the sentiment quickly relayed orders at this insolence, "Have the angels attack this fool at once?" Two of the many angels flew forward impaling Ainz on their sword not even moving to doge, although it felt weird to let himself get stabbed, he was proven right the swords doing nothing to him only feeling weird. The Theocracy didn't realize this their leader saying with a laugh, "Was that all you had, I expected more after a bluff like that."
However, after a moment Ainz's body didn't fall to the floor as they suspected it would but before there leader could order his men to withdraw the angels Ainz's voice beat him to it despite the swords in his chest. "Hmm, did you not hear me, I said to offer your life without resistance. By the time I'm through with you you'll wish you had listened," Ainz said the angels swords dissipating as they struggled against Ainz's grip forcing them apart from obstructing his view. Gasps of shock came from the army of mages as some shouted impossible calling it a trick that no man could survive two swords to the chest, but in truth Ainz found that the creatures weighed little to him even as they thrashed before he slammed them to the ground finding he had put a little too much strength into the blow as the arch angel flames dispersed into sparks the earth below them having cracked in all directions for a good twelve yards.
This brought two things to the front of Ainz's mind, one that his enemies were the arch angel flames from Yggdrasil, and two the settling knowledge that he still had his world enemy statis. The weight of that truly settled in his mind for the first time since he had first left the tomb, in Yggdrasil he had only been a world enemy inside the tomb after the devs realized how bad things could go with people becoming a world enemy after a player used one of the twenty world altering world items to become one, the end result was the entire server banding to gather to get them to log off forever. The devs soon told him just how right they were to limit Ainz most of all out of the other two world enemy guild leaders with his mastery of pvp tactics making him on par with the strongest world enemies in game if not stronger since he wasn't a program.
Even with the fact his build had been more for lore rather than min maxing, a problem he addressed in his levels after one hundred. Only adding to this was his unreachability within the tomb having to fight on the sixth floor to actually use his skills and only loosing once within the tomb not counting the times he's stepped in for his son's boss fight. The one time he had lost was when an army of guilds invaded the tomb forcing him to respawn in the throne room waiting with his friends cut off from his world enemy powers for twenty-four hours. He had kicked himself greatly that day thinking the fact that the enemy had gotten his boss loot manly the world item he was set to drop. The skull of the void a talisman that controlled all undead and immunity to all negative energy attacks making any necromancer useless to it, aka him... only for all of them to get wiped out on the eighth floor.
The fact he lost so little and the guild itself was already so infamous led to the devs adding in a little lore on the games main quest line about Momonga. Although he thought it was over kill denying the fact he was impressive refusing to fight one on one with his guild mates with the power active. Knowing Touch Me was far stronger when he turned off the extra hundred levels, that wasn't the case now though the feeling finally settling in his stomach knowing he had 1200 spells rather than only the seven hundred plus he memorized. Ainz almost laughed realizing the gap between him and these theocracy solders was far bigger than even he had first thought at first glance but not wanting to brake character held it in bringing his attention back to the batt... slaughter.
Nigun took a step back the man- the caster before him and his men having just destroyed two angels and cracking the vary ground below them the shockwave even shaking the dirt under them with his strength alone a feet no caster should be able to accomplish. "High tier physical nullification, it's a passive skill that negates damage from low level attacks," Ainz's voice came out calm despite the force that stood before him only sending more fear through the men. "Don't just stand their attack men!" Nigun shouted regaining himself. The next moment the Angels were sent forward surrounding the three in a dome formation the army of mages regaining there moral. Ainz remembering that allies could now take damage he quickly ordered, "Albedo... son, stand back."
The two seemingly vanished some of the army before him probably thinking they teleported unaware that they simply moved faster than any mortal could observe. Ainz however didn't give his heightened senses much thought busy countering the angels, "Negative burst." A blast of shadow erupted from Ainz blanketing the entire field stopping just before the Theocracy the angels' becoming specks of golden dust as the shadows passed over them. "This can't be," someone stated with the entire scripter silently agreeing in shock having just witnessed forty plus angels being whipped out with a single spell. 'Only a member of the black scripture could take on that many angels and live but could kill them in one hit?!?' Nigun thought reliving the moment again praying he'd been wrong and that this magic caster had simply cast a counter spell to return the summons but no to his horror he only remembered the angels turning to sparks of energy indicating their defeat.
Nigun however shook away the idea that the man before him was stronger than a black scripter member knowing that that wasn't a possibility he wanted proven. His men however found whatever hope they had in unleashing every spell they had in their arsenal from blindness to charm person only growing more desperate as they continued the barrage. Ainz Ooal Gown still stood the magic seeming to pass over him harmlessly as he made no move to block the solders blood turning to ice in their veins realizing it. Until one had tried using a sling attached to his armor to throw a stone at the caster clearly immune to magic, only for his head to burst not a second later.
The attack ceased the black armored figure now standing before them in front of Ainz apparently having deflected the attack. "Albedo you are aware that that pebble would have done me no harm," Ainz said his voice calm to the point it was unsettling on a battlefield.
"Forgive me lord, but for these pathetic cockroaches to use a clump of dirt when even their pathetic magic had failed was too high an insult to ignore. Please allow me to dirty my hands with their extermination in your place." The woman replied confirming that she wasn't a summon. Before Ainz could respond however the small child sized knight clad in white armor and a cape of the night sky appeared again next to Ainz on his right causing him to turn his head to him before it spoke shattering any idea that it was a summon its voice that of a child, "Yeah can we help dad?"
"I don't think that's what your mother had in mind when she asked. Albedo, I value you to greatly to ask you to clear a simple pebble from my path," Ainz replied setting a hand on Albedo's shoulder before she nodded backing away to Ainz's left before he turned his attention back to the battle saying, "Yes now where were we?" A new sense of fear entered Nigun realizing that the 'summon' was this man's son meaning that gear was not of a powerful summon but armor reaching in the level of the divine or national treasures at least just by the look of it. Nigun also grew irritated realizing this man was so prideful against their righteous order that he brought his family to watch, Nigun almost wanted to attack the boy to teach Ainz a lesson but with the look of the armor he decided to stick with the target with the thinnest padding at least that's what he told himself, in truth he didn't want to anger the man who casually knocked there attacks away like flies.
"Principality of observation, Attack," Nigun ordered the silent sentinel hoping to help them get them out of what felt like a nightmare as it finally moving next to him. It's positive stat boost for his ally's hence its name as it formed a two-handed mace from light out of thin air. The holy being charged forward at blinding speed bringing its mace down barreling towards Ainz only for it to stop with not even recoiling slightly. The continues dread Nigun felt while facing this man only returned in full force as Ainz caught the mace with one hand before he had the nerve to chuckle saying, "Haha, I suppose it's only fare I fight back: Hell Flame." Pointing with his free hand a small spark of red fire emerged from his figure only to erupt around the angle the heat felt even at Nigun's distance, as the fire dispersed revealing no remanent of the angle.
New dread filled their hearts at the scene, "One shot," shouts escaping the theocracy's lips as they witnessed the horror of a high-level angel getting defeated by one spell. "It can't be..." Nigun said unaware his voice was among his men's. There was no doubt this man before them was stronger than any member of the black scripter and this fact broke Nigun's composure shouting, "Who the hell are you, there is no way to destroy an elite level angel with one spell!?! What kind of monster are you, Ainz Ooal Gown how could anyone not have heard of you!?"
"Hmm, why is it impossible? Perhaps you are just that ignorant. So, allow me to enlighten you, I am Ainz Ooal Gown," Ainz said stepping forward in front of his family his voice undeniably filled with pride speaking his name showing just how proud of it he was. The answer itself gave them nothing to go off of leaving them with panicked thought's there heartbeats far too loud in their chests as the wind wiped by them the sun almost fully set. Nigun could only try and fail to consol himself taking the man's feets into account before a subordinate drew his attention, "Captain Nigun sir what should we do?"
The answer however came to him in that moment realizing the god's had not forsaken him remembering the miracle of the gods the Cardinals had gifted him. 'Had they planned for me to face this monster, no mater, even this man can't win against the might of the gods,' Nigun thought to himself before reaching into his robes for the blessing. "Fear not men, for we have the highest level of angels none may stand against it," Nigun shouted raising a glowing blue crystal in the air pulling it from his pocket.
Ainz's quickly realized what their leader had pulled out recognizing the item as a sealing crystal, 'They even have items from Yggdrasil, with the way it glows it shouldn't be able to hold past tier eight, and super tier is out of the question. Still, it could be magic unique to this world, I can't rule it out.' With the man's clams settling unease in his lack of stomach, 'I doubt they are refiring to the ten Archangels of the Sephira considering they were a world enemy so that leaves us with the Seraph Class of angels. Any of the first sphere angels would be trouble, I'll tell Albedo... Wait I'm still a world enemy, all extra damage I'd receive as an undead is nullified, even with my gear set to protect me from fire damage my extra stats should make this manageable, even if it's the Seraph Empyrean.'
Albedo however seemed to sense his unease shifting her stance for battle before he placed his hand back on her shoulder causing her to look back most likely surprised. As he prepared himself for whatever angel they had he felt more nervous than he thought his emotion suppression would allow before realizing it was his son next to him his emotions coming of in waves. Ainz removed his hand from Albedo placing his other hand on his head calming the boy wondering if projecting emotions had to do with being a world enemy. Weather their enemies seemed to pick up on the boy's unease growing in confidants or the hope in their captain's words Ainz couldn't say as Nigun proclaimed the crystal shining brighter as he activated, "Now bear witness to the most holy of angels! Dominion Authority!"
Light blazed out forming into a creature made from dozens of pure white wings with the only other describable feature being its arms holding a golden scepter in both hands. The wind stilled as the air became cleansed in the holy light the sun now fully setting leaving only a dim twilight. The theocracy's hope flared at the sight of the heavenly creature Nigun making one last statement before their foes imminent demise, "It is a shame one with your skills must die here, had are priority's not been at odds you would have been a great asset to the theocracy. Ainz Ooal Gown take pride that you were worthy enough to warrant its use."
Ainz could only stare unable to comprehend what was before him until it clicked, laughter escaping his mouth even having to clutch his sides his act as a ruler slipping at the absurdity of their clams. This earned scowls from the theocracy Nigun gritting his teeth realizing the man before them was so undeserving of his power laughing in the face of the divine. 'No, he must have gone insane at it's might,' Nigun thought before the child next to him burst out laughing as well even falling onto his back. Ainz however finally spoke up raising his right hand as he said his emotions getting slightly suppressed, "Forgive the outburst, I had taken you seriously for a moment. Is this truly all you had?"
"You... you dare laugh in the face of the gods! No, you shall know fear, Cast Divine smite!" Nigun practically seethed as he ordered the holy being to attack. 'He is a fool dose he not know this is a being capable of casting seventh tear spells. Such a feat would usually take a ritual, yet Dominion Authority is capable of such as a feet as is it's right as the highest-level angel. He shall know his folly,' Nigun thought as the angel's scepter shattered its peace's hovering around it. Ainz however became interested observing its actions, 'If I remember correctly it's using a onetime ability boost hmmm, I wonder...'
Ainz however cut his musings short as the angel started its attack, symbols lighting up around where the angels head would be before a blinding white light with a blue tint slammed to the earth hitting Ainz dead center. The light covering Ainz completely the army's moral skyrocketing until a laugh echoed from within the blinding light. "HAHAHA, so this is all I feel, this is the pain you can cause," Ainz observed feeling little more than a buzzing and maybe a harmless jolt here and there as the light covered him. Horror twisted the faces of the theocracy as they witnessed Ainz's form within the light his clothes not even tearing under the holy attack.
As the light covered the battlefield a voice spoke up sounding slow with their words but there could be no doubt that rage coated every letter of them, "You shall know agony. I promise you there will be no pain that you do not recognize for bringing pain to the father of my child, my lord... There is no mercy for one as pathetic as you." Nigun turned finding voice to be the woman in black armor next to the unholy monster that was Ainz shaking as she spoke. The attack having stopped Ainz placed a hand on Albedo's shoulder in what was now a familiar motion as he said, "I appreciate the thought Albedo, but it was of little conscience, nothing to swear an oath of hatred over."
"I... Of course, my lord," Albedo replied turning back to Ainz bowing her head in what looked to be shame. "Now I believe it's my turn again," Ainz stated pulling his hand away from Albedo and raising his right hand. Nigun went to bark another order to the angel trying to ignore the terror in every fiber of his being, the fact that Ainz had felt anything becoming a last ember of hope, but he was too late to order another attack. Ainz's calm voice carried over the field as the army prepared to witness horror unappareled unaware that what was to come would beyond anything they could comprehend, "Know despair, Black hole."
A void appeared before the angel, the holy being twisting inwards seemingly struggling against the force before becoming consumed by the void it's light vanishing leaving only that of the night sky and the slightest bit of twilight over the horizon. Nigun his body long passed terror his mind broken to the point it didn't even register as he spoke, "What even are you? Even- even the evil spirits don't have this power." Ainz felt like chuckling before responding, "Ainz Ooal Gown, in the past there wasn't a man alive who didn't fear this name."
Wind whipped across the plane before the eerie silence was shattered literally with the sound of glass braking from above. Looking up Ainz saw a massive crack in the sky before it vanished into nothing. "What- what was that?" Nigun asked startled.
"It seems someone was using recognizance magic to watch you from afar. I'm guessing the Theocracy, pity though if I had known we would be observed I would have tied a stronger attack spell in with my defense barrier. Still I doubt they saw much." Ainz replied wondering if his defense spell was enough to kill the person peaking in while also finding Nigun's surprise amusing. "My country wase watching me..." Nigun said more of a statement then a question. Ainz however didn't care wanting to wrap things up he said in his best cold and indifferent voice he could manage, "If that's all you had it's time to end this..."
The effect was near instantaneous terror registering with in the army realizing that the same entity that could wipe out a miracle of the gods in one hit now had his focus on dealing with them. "No- Nono, please wait?! I beg of you sir Ainz- I mean lord Ainz spare my life the rest of these men have no value. I'll give you anything you wish! just name it. I'll do whatever it takes to appease you..." Nigun sputtered out franticly as cries of outrage came from his men, his disregard for their loyalty causing Ainz to sneer in disgust under his mask. It was however Albedo who answered the man's begging, "I believe your confused, lord Ainz has no need for pathetic lower lifeforms. Humans like yourself should bow their heads and give thanks to him for ending their miserable lives."
"What's that mean, humans like me?" Nigun asked clearly disturbed at what Ainz thought was a bit overkill on Albedos part. He however didn't correct her instead focused on the leader now exposed as nothing but a coward remembering how unwavering Gazef acted when facing defeat giving him the perfect thing to say, "Ah yes, what was it you said to Gazef, cease your futile resistance and lie down like a good dog, as an act of mercy I'll make sure your death is painless." And the sunlit scripture could only stare as Ainz removed his masked their minds telling them to run but their bodies refused to respond instead shaking in terror as they realized it was death that stood before them, probably knowing deep down there where none who could outrun it.
In the realm of shattered dreams and madness energy gathered in glowing multicolored vortexes before there magic slammed towards the timeless lands suspended within the unending Aether, it's gathered force dispersing as it went. To mortals some would call it rather cool lightning, though it would be a crude term it would be this realms equivalent to it, still however it drew little attention from the realm's inhabitance. The lands were littered with trees there leaves of crystal and tendril like vines that had a mind all their own. The three land masses their gaps bridged by grand ivory bridges; five structures decorated the island as monuments with there always being one within sight for those on the surface.
in the planes of one of the smaller land masses sat a great city where beings of memory and dreams lived. Near to that stood a mountain with four grate monoliths carved into the rock seeming to crown the mountain where within the circle the mountain stood shattered chunks suspended in air keeping the semblance of the mountain as blue and purple energy was vented through the gaps. The source of its energy being the celestial forge below where the heat of dying stars met metal sacred and unyielding. Then to another island stood seven great towers shaped like spear heads circling a grand spire, symbols behind the scope of mortal understanding circled what was known as the library of the forgotten realms.
There volumes protected by the Beholders of the forbidden, charged with the upkeep of this sacred library and its tombs that would send any mere mortal into madness. Looking back to the main island two structures were visible, one a grand stronghold nestled in-between two mountains where the six eldritch horrors of this realm held council, and in the center of the island towering over the other mountains sat atop its peek was there master's palace. Pillars in Greek architecture carved from the mountain circled it holding up the eternal garden decorated with statues of angels and demons the waterways carved into the floors flowing with liquid stars with all manner of plants inhabiting its sacred soil. and at the center of it all where all the ivory and marble pathways led to the nameless one's bed carved from a stone long forgotten from a realm long destroyed.
The realm had sat forever like this it's power never wavering, its invaders, no surprises, until the cracks from which those invaders and travelers came sealed. Now the forces of chaos of this great realm gathered. Alden of forbidden knowledge, keeper of the library and secrets. Teltorain of the forgotten dream, father of madness inducing nightmares and illusions. Gilmat the forbidden craftsmen, forge master of the celestial forge and forbidden crafts. Silcleirn binder of army's, stealer of one's own will. Mayathin trader of story's, tell him yours and you won't exist, and Valerie goddess of forbidden battle techniques guardian of madness's keep.
Now however they sat debating there charge absent under the care of his father leaving them to reflect on recent events, although some might call it bickering. "For the last time I think we should send a messengered to our Lord Momonga, whether or not the rifts closing is of his design we cannot risk the connection to his great castle to become severed," A purple robed creature said having repeated this point a few times through its lipless mouth it's sharp needily teeth unmoving it's four glowing green eyes' peering out above, his thorny stone like tendril feet hovering a foot off the polished floor as it crossed its arms seemingly formed from the same tendrils into something humanoid.
"You mean to insult our great master Mayathin. Our servants witnessed his arrival in our realm just a few hours after the mortal realms were sealed shut, we would only be pestering the master, and after we failed too great him at that," Came a raged and almost chained reply from one of the four actually using the stone chairs surrounding the round table. The owner of this voice being Silcleirn his skin leathery, gray, and almost like mold draped in tattered robes dyed with blood. His cracked lips sown with silver rope barley allowing his words to escape his mouth with two clouded eyes being the only features on his bald head.
"If it was to show concern for his son's realm he would take no offence. Or may I remind you that his son is our charge, and his safety is our task the great one has seen fit to give us despite our foolishness," Mayathin bit back almost as a challenge. Silcleirn went to spit back grumbling emitting from his throat bound with leather digging into his disgusting skin before there bickering was interrupted. An ancient rasping voice escaping from a mound of old fabric colored like old parchment symbols of long forgotten languages sown into it leaving no waisted space. The only thing giving evidence to life under the robe being the thin frail ivory-colored hands resting on the chairs armrest and the six silver eyes peering out from under the hood.
"Please we all know of your two opinions. I say both are valid here my friends, why don't we watch over the celestial garden for our ward or his father," Alden's wise and ancient voice advised. Mayathin looked pleased with the suggestion if a lipless face could look pleased, while Silcleirn looked perturbed and definitely unconvinced but seemed to know better than to argue.
The silence lasted for a moment before it was broken again a new voice metallic in nature now filling the silence, "If that is all we must discus then I suggest we adjourn this meeting fore we have our duties to carry out. With or without the rifts." The other five turned to find Gilmat the voices owner his voice matching his looks, his arms made of cracked white stone suspended in air the same energy the great forge emitted flowing through them allowing him to form any tool from them. his hair seemingly made of molten gold with burning red eyes sparks flying off his beard, with a robe crafted from the strongest of metals.
"I shall have to agree, that would be the best cores of action. I shall monitor the great garden in place of my watch over the rifts," Valerie added her voice spectral beneath silver armor seemingly welded together sloppily with an extra two arms below the first two. Her eye's missing replaced with crystal shards a white light blazing from within. None protested like before Teltorain deciding to finally speak up his voice echoing, "Then I am happy we have finally tabled this discussion it only took three days, but we got there." His body a reflection of his humored voice humanoid in shape leaving behind after image after every slight movement some even appearing from what he might do creating a gray ever shifting shadow in his place.
His humor seeming to irritate Silcleirn who stood from his seat ready to argue when they felt the power of the realm shift to a single point within the room. All stood there faces growing solum as they turned to the seventh seat the tallest around the table before bowing. Standing in front of the great seat was their charge, his black hair a slight mess his simple yet elegant white robe spotless with his blood red eyes bright and happy. "My lord," the six said in unison their voices mixing rather violently.
"Hey guys, um dad told me to come get you, everyone else is gathering to," the boy said seemingly unaware that his words sent a shiver of fear through the six gods. The six gods of the forbidden realm searching their memories for anything they did anything to displease lord Momonga, or to warrant a large gathering as the young prince put it. They prepared themselves to enter the home of the ruler of the void and leader of the great Ainz Ooal Gown.
Ainz let out a tired sigh as he closed the door to his room the massive bed all to welcoming only bringing him anguish knowing there was still more to do. 'ugggg, I don't know how I'm going to keep this up,' he thought exhausted from having to act all regale in front of his son and albedo... his wife. 'Why did you have to make her so god dam hot Tabula. It's like you just passed your attractive daughter off to me,' Ainz continued in thought starting to pace the room when he heard the other door in the room. He quickly stiffened from slouching regaining what he hoped to be a regale stance as he turned to find the vary succubus he was thinking about in nothing but a towel apparently having finished cleaning off from there recent adventure.
Ainz felt himself turn to look away before he begrudgingly remembered he wasn't necessarily invading her privacy considering this was actually their shared room before the demoness let out a cute yelp. Turning his gaze square on the woman he found her blushing heavily before stammering out, "Lord-lord Ainz forgive me I would have asked permission to enter if I knew you were here. I can only apoli..." Ainz caught off guard at seeing her sporadic apology wondered why she was apologizing in the first place considering this was their shared room before shouting forgetting his regale demeaner for a moment, "Albedo wait..."
The captivating beauty falling silent seeming to wait for him to continue and after composing himself he did, "You have no reason to be sorry Albedo... why should you need to ask to enter our room?" Albedo seemed to be stunned for a moment before answering brushing some of her still damp hair from her shoulder nervously, "I just seemed to forget myself, it has been such a long time since we last shared a bed... only natural of course considering you are above the need for sleep."
Ainz felt guilt deep in his stomach realizing it was partially true considering in Yggdrasil he rarely visited his room having no real need to. The jabs his friends made at not joining albedo in the royal suite coming back in a roundabout way to bite him. He also remembered what he had already noticed that she was her own being no longer just code, and her feelings were very real and being Tabula's creation or not she wasn't his actual child but the npc's were by far there most dedicated projects within the tomb. His eye's closed for a moment before thinking, 'Ok what would a husband do if he realized he was neglecting his wife... other than that,' before he began forward closing the distance between them before placing his boney hand on her soft bare shoulder as he brought his free hand to her cheek.
The effect was immediate Albedo leaning into his touch reminding him of a cat before he said as gently as his new voice could, "Forgive me for not having joined you, in rest that is, more often. I regret not doing so more." The look she returned him was that of aw and shock before saying, "My lord you shouldn't apoli..." Ainz saw where this was going removing his hand from her shoulder raising it to signal he wasn't done speaking. "Albedo I am not talking to you as a lord... I am talking to you as the father of your son. I am not okay with you going out of your way to make me comfortable when you are not. Please if you wish for me to be more attentive just ask, as an undead I my emotional capacity is a little different in nature then others," Ainz said being a little bit more careful with his wording then probably needed, but it was better safe than sorry.
The look she however gave him made his nonexistent heart melt her eye's becoming slightly glossy before she finally spoke bringing her hands to her chest and clutching her towel only slightly worrying Ainz before he saw she was just hugging it closer, "You... you are to kind my lord, you have already given me more then I or any guardian deserves allowing me to bring your child into the world. I will hold your promise closer than my own heart, thank you." It was here that tears started to fall Ainz carefully wiping them away with the sleave of his cloak before enveloping her in a hug careful not to let her towel fall.
Ainz felt Albedo sigh as she nuzzled deeper into his robes seemingly dedicated to trying to get whatever comfort his new body could provide. Ainz felt himself enjoy her own softness before he realized she had given him the perfect segway to another topic, "Albedo I know you will protest... but I ask that you do not refer to me as lord, only when we our alone of course or with our son." Ainz had said his tone shifting to that of an unyielding will when the demon pulled away her eyes wide with shock immediately ready to protest but he left her no room to. Deciding this needed an extra push he quietly added, "Please."
She stood there for a moment seeming unable to speak before seeming to relax stepping closer to Ainz again meeting his gaze with nothing but kindness in her eyes. "How could I ever refuse you, my wonderful Ainz." Ainz was caught slightly off guard with how her voice filled with love and admiration only bringing his hand up brushing her cheek before pulling her into his embrace staying like that for a few moments. 'I promise I'll keep her safe and happy Tabula; I'll keep them all safe,' Ainz thought to himself the memories of his friends flashing before his eye's before he returned to the present pulling away from albedo after a moment more.
"gmh well I shouldn't keep you longer now with you gathering the others," Ainz said clearing his throat. "Ah yes, of course I'll go make myself presentable to help Demiurge organize everyone," Albedo said with a slight giggle.
"hmmm I hope you are remembering to include some of Nazaricks stronger minions," Ainz said knowing that the npcs thought of the throne room as the most sacred of grounds although considering the fact it was designed as where the members of Ainz Ooal Gown would take there last stand not mentioning the throne was a world item, it sort of was. Albedo simply smiled before replying almost giddy when she used his name at the end, "Of course, Demiurge and I discussed which to allow in before I came here to freshen up from our trip to that human settlement, while he went to gather them... Darling Ainz."
To his surprise she didn't even grimace slightly when mentioning Crane village whether it was from what he said before or she was just that happy with his attention right now to notice he couldn't say. He however enjoyed the smile she gave him as he nodded seemingly signaling for her to go get ready taking a few steps to the closet before stopping and turning back to him a puzzled look. Ainz perked his head up more slightly preparing to listen when she asked, "Forgive me but... we were unaware on where we should place the great guardians you entrusted our son's protection to?"
Ainz immediately felt the headache coming on before willing himself to think, 'From what I remember and have gone over they should answer to me, that's why I sent my son to get them. Are they absolutely loyal though, should I put them closer than the floor guardians, No. but if I put them behind, they might take insult to being placed behind weaker beings...' The main problem being the extra ten levels they had over the npcs. Which might not seem like much compared to Ainz's extra hundred but when each level gives you more benefits as you gain them it would add up. 'Perhaps with, I mean the floor guardians technically protect me, so their tasks are essentially the same,' Ainz continued thinking before finally answering, "Place them amongst the other floor guardians, they've protected our son within his realm, and you protect him and me within the great tomb. It is only fair, as for their exact titles..."
Ainz tried to remember what he knew about them; he really did but to his dismay he couldn't remember any other titles then there titles as minor deities. That was until he remembered the first bit of lore you'd get about them in game if you were going about the quest line. "You may refer to them as the pillars, after all they are tied to their realm in much the same way that same realm of chaos and madness is tied to our son, eternal pillars in a matter of speaking," Ainz said realizing that there automatic respawning might still work and if that was the case did his.
Ainz however not knowing if Albedo would like their placement or title turned on his gods sight to be sure of her thoughts, "thank you for telling me, I would hate to have repay a fellow servant of a supreme one with ignorance of their place, I also thought as much as for their placement I just wished to confirm. Now I better get ready to great them in a more respectful garment." Ainz nodded as her words rang true before she nodded more of slightly bowed back before heading back to the walk-in closet/armory before pausing to turn back to him looking conflicted. 'Oh no what now,' Ainz thought starting to panic before Abedo began her voice clearly being cautious, "I know it is not my place... however I could feel your heart as if it were my own, and I pray that you would entrust me with your thoughts."
Ainz recognized the expression she made reminding him of the face one would make when facing a frightened puppy. She had made such an expression if only for a moment a few hours ago when she had saved his butt by giving Mare a believable explanation. 'Dam it even without facial expressions I'm obvious. ugh what do I say here, I can't tell her I'm in way over my head, maybe I can play it off as the tomb's sudden appearance in this new world giving me stress, but if she could tell I'm fighting off the urge to run away and hide then she might know I'm still hiding something... although she isn't exactly the usual Npc, she was created with loyalty to the guild and specific devotion to me unlike the others who are loyal to the guild as a whole. Perhaps I can be a bit more relaxed around her still I can't get too comfortable,' He thought before going to answer.
"You know me well Albedo, I find in my comrades absents and the sudden transportation of the tomb that things have spiraled out of control, leaving me with little to nothing to go on." He explained slowly her eyes somehow only becoming more caring boring into his soul. Albedo simply smiled as he finished tilting her head in a rather innocent sweet way before replying, "No matter what happens, I am sure you will lead Nazarick through it, Ainz." Ainz took notice that her voice raised an octave whenever she said his name.
Aiz had to swallow the pressure that sentence gave him instead focusing on the comfort she meant to give him, "Thank you for believing so. Ahem now I would hate to have to tell Demiurge why he had to arrange the inhabitance of Nazarick on his own..."
"Oh of course I'll be getting ready now," Albedo replied before hurriedly turning to leave a loving smile on her face with slight blush. As the door closed behind her, he let out a long sigh before saying to himself, "a great day one as a loving husband survived, now all I have to do is act the part of omniscient god king in front of the entire tomb and the six extremely powerful gods that are sworn to protect my son... No pressure right?"
Demiurge straitened his tie the doors of the throne room closing behind with the demon standing in the center of grand circular room lined with golems. Albedo standing next to him watching the doors even after the last of the assembly was assigned their place. Demiurge however didn't say anything instead simply deciding to wait, knowing it wouldn't be long now, he had always wondered what the other guardians his glorious master had entrusted to the prince's protection. "Albedo, may I ask but what do you know of the guardians lord Momonga entrusted the young prince's safety?" He said turning squarely to the demoness who finally turned from the door to meet his diamond gaze.
"Hmmm all that I know is that they are fragments tied to chaos and when my darling prince pulled the realm from its slumber so too did he pull them into the physical realm," Albedo replied concealing her joy at knowing her masters new name while demiurge remained oblivious. Demiurge looked puzzled for a moment before his usual calm expression masked his face, Albedo however inquired after the look, "what is it Demiurge, is something giving you unease?"
He simply straightened his tie again being a quirk of his design the supreme beings gave him before answering, "no, forgive me I have been curious as to the realm the price rules over and how it came to be with his birth for some time." When he finished talking, he finally felt the satisfaction radiate of the leader of the floor guardians before she replied, "Oh, forgive me but I do have some insight as to that." She paused as Demiurge pulled his full attention to her and away from the few plans, he's worked out so far from his master's wisdom. Albedo as if sensing she had his full attention continued, "The night my son was to be born lord A-Momonga had placed every form of protection and healing around me. The reason as to why I doubt it would be hard to guess considering the prince's potential with his father as powerful as he is."
Demiurge nodded surprising a small shiver unable to keep himself from imagining the strain a subprime one's offspring would place on any being's body before she continued, "To say I would have died that day would be far more a pleasant of a thing. I would have been shredded into non-existence, you or any other guardian has yet to see what I saw the day I got to hold my precious prince; his presence was eternal, tied to the laws of the world to the point he could bend them. The presence he brings now is that of a shred of what he truly is, because while I held him barley able to understand his presence, I felt the law defying force of eternity that was my son get forced into the form I know and love today by something far more then all that I could understand, but I would be a fool not to recognize it."
It was at this point Demiurge shivered realizing what she was implying as his face went pale. "You stood before Lord Momonga's true power," Demiurge said astonished a new form of respect forming for the guardian allowed to bare the supreme one's offspring. "It could have only been him and even then, it was only the surface. As for the realm of my son, Lord Momonga mentioned that as his child he was the perfect vessel for the remnants of unused magic from when the realms were new, his first breath was enough to pull the dormant magic from sleep and form a realm of its own binding it to him, of course I believe the supreme ones also helped organize the after math, I imagine it would have been quite a mess having just been jettisoned into existence. I'm afraid I know little more than that though, as for the structure of its domain or the number of pillars charged with protecting it, I felt were too foolish a thing to ask Lord ai- Momonga about. Me and my son had also little conversation about it with him spending little time in his realm, staying by his father side as you know," Albedo had said almost bursting with pride at describing the results of her child's birth only to grow solemn in the end.
A feeling Demiurge found he understood finding himself grinning at the new information was added to his existing knowledge of the supreme one although there were two places that caused him confusion. "I am grateful, you've given me much needed insight I hope I can use to understand our lords will better. Although I pray you enlighten me but what did you mean by pillars?"
"Oh, yes forgive me but lord Ai- Momonga just informed me of my sons guardians titles. They are in away tied to my son's realm, so I would guess their powers and lives are tied to it in some way," Albedo simply replied seeming to grow a little bit prouder that she had to explain to Demiurge.
"Ah, I see," Demiurge replied not necessarily getting ticked off but still found the difference in knowledge disconcerting before continuing with unfortunately another question, "By the way you seem to be almost saying something else before the supreme on-." His question was however cut of as the air in the room seemed to shiver a feeling the two seemed to recognize as a multicolored gate appeared in the center of the room. Although unlike most gates this was far more jagged and torn with bright color reflecting within it.
Demiurge felt the pit that would be his soul stirred as his bones shivered with the first of seven figures immerged from the gate. The fact he had missed such a presence before only crediting Lord Momonga's power that would allow the princes presence to hide within it.
...
Mayathin felt his ivory tendrils shiver as the multicolored wall peeled away revealing a grand room lined with three layers of floors statues on every level with a grand staircase cutting through one side leading to even grander doors. He could feel his fellow gods subtle dread and anxiety hidden behind what would have been otherwise perfect masks had he not known them. He quickly took note of the two figures before them both radiating a demonic presence with the female in the white dress that hugged her rather well and black downy feathered wings drawing more of the groups interest then the demon in a fine red suit diamond eyes and metalic tail tipped with spikes.
The specific reason being completely obvious to Mayathin with her hair and pale horns crowning her head all too familiar, their suspicions only confirmed when the prince picked up his speed before jumping into her arms. The demoness seemed to scoop the boy up with ease a smile that of only a mothers spread across her face. It was rather serial to see the being that all of chaos tied itself to, being carried by a simple demon, although considering just who this demon was, she was far from the usual demon.
"Hay mom, where's dad," the young demon asked as he looked up at his mother as she held him up just under his legs.
"Your father is in our room waiting for us to finish gathering the tomb," She replied to the boy's face dropping slightly. Mayathin's eyes widened with the same most likely happening to his comrades after hearing the demoness say she shared a room with the supreme one. 'It seems she is more than just the demon entrusted to birth the prince, of course it would be foolish for us to have assumed otherwise. We have to show respect, not that we weren't going to, but considering she was probably the most trusted ally of lord Momonga,' Maythin thought as he continued to watch the primordial embodiment of the realm they were sworn and boned to protect nuzzle closer to his mom.
"Oh okay," The boy said slightly disappointed. She however not wanting to except that said bouncing him slightly in her arms, "Why don't you go wait with him and I'll be there shortly to get you." The boy's mood seemed to pick up immediately his multicolored feathers seeming to fluff up slightly before his mother set him down. He immediately started rocking on his heals as he said, "Yeah maybe he'll tell me what surprise he's going to announce." The boy then vanished teleporting away without another second leaving the eight powerful beings alone.
Only a mere moment passed before the silence was broken by the demon dressed in red inclining his head slightly to them as he finished, "Even though it was a summons from the supreme one I thank you for coming, I have been rather interested in getting to meet you. I am Demiurge floor guardian of the seventh floor of Nazarick, and this is Albedo head overseerer of the guardians and as you saw the mother of the young prince." The six primordial entities bowed their heads slightly lower than the demon before Alden's ancient voice was the first to reply, "A sentiment I'm sure we share. It is an honor to enter the great castle of the supreme one, and to meet the mother of the prince is truly a pleasure Lady Albedo. I am Alden keeper of the library of madness"
Alden had ended turning more to Albedo bowing deeper an action the others were quick to follow. This earned a smile from the demons with Albedo speaking next inclining her head in gratitude, "It is also a pleasure to meet you Alden, one of the six pillars of my son's realm." It was then after she finished the others realized they had yet to introduce themselves with Mayathin being the next to speak up after it became clear Albedo was done, "Forgive me the rest of us have forgotten ourselves have yet to introduce us properly, I am Mayathin trader of stories and tales."
It was then that the others followed suit. "Teltorain master of illusions and dreams," went the endless echos of Teltorain's voice.
"Gilmat craftsmen of the celestial forge," Came Gilmat's matalic voice.
"Silcleirn maker of traitors and binder of free will," Came Silcleirn's strained and hoarse voice.
"Valerie teacher of forbidden techniques of blade or stone and guardian of the gates of the realm. Again, forgive us for not introducing ourselves sooner," came Valerie's aethereal voice from beneath her armor.
"It was of little consequence there is no need to apologize, I believe we have already waisted too much time here already. I would hate to keep my son and Lord Momonga waiting much longer," Albedo said genuine kindness in her voice with only slight distress at the idea of keeping her sons father waiting a sentiment all being in the room shared. All six of the eldritch entities nodded before Demiurge spoke up turning to walk up the stairs as he finished, "Then we should make our way up, if you would follow us."
The group began their way up the steps the difference in leg appendages creating a rather strange echo around the room. They had made it halfway up the steps before Alden decided to voice a question, "Forgive me but I find myself curios how many of the great members of Ainz Ooal Gown will be in attendance." The question while innocent enough seemed to freeze the two guardians for a moment causing the following six eldritch entities to stumble slightly before the demons picked back up.
Mayathin knew of the being's lord Momonga counted among his most trusted allies despite their power difference he had aloud others to share the title of lords among the guild he had formed. That knowledge however filled him with dread having seen two servants of that guild freeze at the mention of their other masters. Demiurge however put his fears and the fears of the group to rest if only slightly saying as they got closer to the grand doors, "They left the tomb quite a while ago, for whatever tasks that required them. Lord Momonga and the young prince are all who remained."
The stiff entities relaxed slightly as they felt sympathy enter their theoretical hearts sensing the sorrow in the male Demons voice. Albedo on the other hand seemed almost cold with her sorrow as they made it to the door in silence the six unable to think of any words to give comfort other than Valerie muttering almost imperceptibly quiet, "Sorry." It seemed to be enough with the faintest hint of a smile being seen on the demons faces as they glanced slightly back.
Ainz felt tense the fact his son burst through the doors with no warning only a few minutes after albedo had left and he had flopped onto the extremely comfortable bed did nothing for said nerves. What did help was finding himself sitting up in bed with his son sitting on his lap as he looked up into his empty eye sockets with his own bright and kind eye's. "Come on, Pleaaaasssseeeee," The boy begged for what was probably the hundredth time in short time he'd been in here.
"Only if your patient, I promise I'll tell you when everyone's ready in the throne room," Ainz replied slightly regretting having mentioned a surprise for the boy when he sent him off to get the eldritch guardians of the eleventh floor. The boy was seemingly unconvinced an adorable pout covering his face slumping slightly. "You can tell me now; I can act surprised again. They wouldn't know," he said having apparently missed the point of a surprise. Ainz however lightly chuckled finding it adorable despite his new undead nature before he felt the feeling edging dangerously close to suppression. Wanting to keep the feeling he decided to distract himself and his son giving them a change of subject, really killing two birds with one stone.
"I think your mother would know; she has proven to be vary perceptive of my mood so far as I'm aware. Now how did gathering your protectors go?" He asked placing his right hand on his son's back.
"Umm good, they were all in the council room, so I didn't have to look long. They seemed tense but there always tense," The boy said with a smile oblivious to the fact that according to lore the Eldritch Pillers feared him considering he was the full embodiment of their individual essence. To put it rather simply it would be like a candle flame looking at a forest engulfed in flames, how they viewed him however Ainz didn't exactly know but if they feared his son then he should make it clear betraying him would be even more futile.
It was then that there was a knock on the door prompting Ainz to get up from sitting on the edge of the bed after carefully setting the boy down. Smoothing out the light wrinkles in his robe he said calling to the door, "Come in."
The door opened Albedo stepping inside with a smile, "The whole of Nazarick is waiting L- Ainz."
"Thank you, Albedo, it is time then," Ainz said preparing himself for the pressure of standing before impossibly strong beings and be there even stronger and smarter ruler. He looked down to his son for whatever reason finding the boy look back up at him before nodding. Taking that as a reassurance he activated the ring of Ainz Ooal Gown teleporting the three away instantly.
...
The throne room was quiet no not even that, the quiet itself was its own sound with the silence that existed in the room seemed unnatural with how many beings filled the grand hall. The only noise breaking the silence being the bare footsteps of Ainz's son, the soft thud of Albedo and Ainz's shoes and the clack of the staff of Ainz Ooal Gown on the floor. Albedo stopped at the foot of the stairs to the throne her son glancing back to her before continuing on with Ainz stopping next to the throne as Ainz took his seat in what he hoped was a regal manner considering he never really had to sit down with robes before.
Ainz felt the ghost of his face drop despite the lack of skin that thankfully hid his nerves. 'Okay you can do this, show no weakness,' he thought as he staired out at the see of bowed heads consisting of high-ranking monsters no doubt painstakingly selected to enter the throne room, the tombs npcs and other demonic entities in the mix and even with the number there was still a great bit of room in the grand chamber. The six semi familiar beings mixed in with the floor guardians causing him the most concern he felt himself activate gods sight before deciding to use his divine aura. The effect was immediate the entire room of bowed heads seemingly going stiff the weaker maids seeming to shiver to almost the point of collapse as even most of the Pleiades seemed to twitch slightly.
The few eyes that had been glancing up at him now remained firmly glued to the floor as absolute darkness traveled over the room. It stayed relatively close for the moment before he wondered if he could cover the entire room, and after trying he found the darkness burst forward coating the massive throne room in absolute darkness. Even the area that had stayed untouched near the guardians had vanished leaving all standing in a shapeless void the only things indicating they were still in the throne room were the massive pillars holding up the guild's banners, the obsidian crystal spikes that surrounded the throne, and the throne itself remaining untouched.
He heard a few slight yelps when he accomplished this his son even flinching as he turned to Ainz in surprise. What he however didn't realize was exactly why the effect was so strong for even his son to feel it, even earlier when he displayed this power to the guardians it wouldn't have had the same effect as it would with the guild weapon in his hands. The guild weapon the staff of Ainz Ooal Gown was specifically designed for him giving his already world enemy boosted stats an even bigger output making his auras stronger and effect higher level beings. The fact the throne also provided a boost only enhanced the effect to the point even his son felt it.
Had he been aware of this he might not have used gods voice to spare the weaker npcs in the room who were now already fighting back silent screams as to his own surprise a deep echoing voice came from the depths of the world rather than his own throut, "Denizens of Nazarick I thank you for coming here for my call. I extend specific thanks to Alden of knowledge, Gilmat of the forge, Silcleirn of the binding will, Mayathin of bards, Teltorain of Illusions, and lastly Valerie of strategy. You have all done great serves protecting the forbidden realm from those who wished to control it." Ainz finding himself rather happy to have been reading up own their lore to address them properly, he however held back the urge to shout yes in calibration as the six new faces in the tomb slowly looked up.
His eye's trained on their faces as he willed his gods sight to study them finding both terror and aw in their thoughts weather it was reflected on any of their faces was hard to tell however. After a moment passed one seemed to finally take his que and speak the one with thorny ivory tendrils and razor sharp teach spoke his mouth remaining shut, "It is a-a great- honor to be in the great house of Ainz Ooal Gown High Lord Momonga. An even greater an honor it has been to help defend the house of your son."
If Ainz was to guess it was probably Mayathin who spoke his words ringing absolutely true in Ainz's head although he mostly got his meaning of house from context assuming he meant guild or great kingdom. He then checked the others thankfully to his relief their thoughts nodded in agreement at least offering him some relaxation as to their loyalty. 'Just need to not mess this up here then,' Ainz thought before he continued, "I am happy to hear that, now tell me what of the rips in your domains, have they remained closed?"
His question seemed to echo with in his enhanced voice Ainz taking notice that the guardians even shivered with every word. "They have My Lord," A being covered in heavy and ancient robes that matched his voice replied. "Excellent, then I would like to welcome your realm as a floor of Nazarick, if you have any objections raise them here and now." The six then practically shouted in surprise but in unison, "None at all My lord It Is the greatest honor" Ainz found there thoughts even more enthusiastic at the idea. Taking that in stride he glanced at the boy beside him who seemed to be beaming at the idea as well before he focused back on task. Then we will connect you in-between the ninth and eighth floor and officially merge the nineth and tenth floors," Ainz said letting the void begin receding to the point it only reached the bottom steps.
"Now on to more immediate matters, Greater brake Item," Ainz continued turning off gods voice as he drew in the last of the void. Although that was of little notice after he extended out one hand pointing to his tapestry before it dissolved in flames a deafening gasp ringing out through the throne room. "I have decided to change my name, from this moment onward I will be known as," Ainz continued finding the excitement to much and standing before lightly clanging the staff of Ainz Ooal Gown to the ground for emphasis before he finished, "Ainz Ooal Gown, you may call me Ainz. If you have any objections stand and voice them."
To his relief none stood, and he sensed no displeasure at him taking on the name of the guild. Instead, the mass of heads bowed low before Albedo spoke, "We have heard your sacred name Lord, and we devote ourselves to it with unwavering loyalty, Glory to Lord Ainz Ooal Gown!"
"Glory to Lord Ainz Ooal Gown, all hail," The whole hall proclaimed seeming to grow abuzz.
"We give ourselves to you with no hesitation," Shaltear called out.
"To the most powerful supreme being," Aura and Mare shouted.
"Everyone in this world will know of your greatness and fear your undying wrath," Demiurge declared.
"Our king who rules over all forever," Cocytus.
"Glory to the Overking, Ruler of death and your unimaginable power," Albedo ended it off.
Ainz then taped his staff once again on the ground before speaking again, "This is an absolute order make the name Ainz Ooal Gown an eternal legend." The gathered erupted in cheers as Ainz found his thoughts growing, "Across any lands and through skys and over and under the sea I will spread the names Ainz Ooal Gown to every corner of this strange new world. If any of my friends have arrived here as well, they will know they aren't alone and find me.' It was also then that he was pulled from his thoughts seeing his son practically bounce in place from excitement, 'Crap I got carried away with what I was doing and forgot to mention it, I really am a crap parent."
Ainz taped his staff again the clang calming the denizens of Nazarick as he stumbled to find a good segway to his other news, "Now in light of the changing of my name, I have found it is long past do for my son prince of Nazarick to hold a name as well." This immediately caught the rooms attention whatever noise created by their slight movements ceasing instantly. Ainz turned to his right finding the boy meeting his gaze turned fully to him and radiating excitement. He felt himself smile down at the boy, a being he and his friends spent hours designing and, in a way, there final gift to him allowing him to truly not be alone among beings who saw him as greater than them.
He had wanted his name to mean something and when he remembered how he had clearly been unconfutable with the loss of life the answer came to him. As an eternal reminder of Touch Me's philosophy and the humanity he apparently lost his name was clear to him. "I Ainz Ooal Gown father of the prince of Nazarick heir to my throne and powers should I cease, Name you Satoru Ooal Suzuki Gown. A name I once knew well long ago." The effect was immediate and by effect he meant Satoru practically tackled him in a hug only causing him to stumble slightly before returning it. The speech which he had stitched partially from lore mainly just Satoru's title in Nazarick seemed to also have the appropriate effect the summoned crowd shouting, "All hail lord Satoru Ooal Suzuki Gown great prince of Nazarick."
His eyes met Albedo's finding tears of joy unmatched in them as her emotions radiated pure joy forcing Ainz to turn off his gods sight to keep himself from phantom crying. Before long he called the meeting to rest and instructed them to follow their tasks with care before teleporting away with Satoru. (Author: Dear lord I am so happy I can refer to the kid with a name. Bending over backwards to refer to him was a pain believe me.)
...
Demiurge could only smile realizing Albedo had known about the masters change in name before this having slipped up a few times before. For now, however he took note of her composing herself as the throne room remained abuzz. She however was the first to stand the others quick to fall silent as she addressed them, "Everyone raise your heads, to any who received a direct order take it and follow it humbly. Now I believe we have another important matter to relate, Demiurge please tell everyone what the great lord Ainz Ooal Gown imparted to you."
Demiurge gave the sincerest wicked grin any being human or inhuman could muster before answering his voice smooth as silk, "Of course, it would be an honor to relay the supreme ones will..."
Notes:
Hope you all enjoyed the chapter, hope you liked the changes to albedo, I figured since tabula reprogramed her rather than Ainz changing one line she's a lot more stable than in the anime. She's still madly in love with Ainz but now it's not driving her to the brink of madness by clashing with her other settings. Also, the reason I added the last two tags was because in the light novel there's a bit more implied and well some of the relationships, I'm planning on adding do to a slightly higher survival rate will be hard not to imply considering the npcs personalities. Also to re iterate what I said before this is still going to be brutal overlord just with Ainz not having to be depressed having the ability to socialize with others outside the tomb. Cough* Cough* Nyna and Gazef.
Also, I've made up my mind-Spells will be in slanted text-Cocytus will be in bold-and Ainz's world enemy skill will be in both.
Any mind control speech will just be specified in the chapter. Also, I updated the first chapter again and I think I got it the way I want so hopefully I don't end up going back to retcon anymore details. Also, any more lore will now take place in the fic so no more going back to the first chapter anyway.
