   “Who’s hungry?” asked the Sarkaz with tongs.

   “H-Hungry?” Hibiscus asked meekly. “I don’t… understand…”

   “No?” The man laughed. “Alright, baby. Let’s show you, then!”

   He clicked his tongs twice, and his mercenary companion lifted the lid of the cage as carefully as he could. Quick as a whip, the tongs-wielding Sarkaz shoved the instrument into the cage and clamped them around a particularly wrigglesome critter; an Originium slug that oozed a pus-like, foaming goop. Just the smell was enough to get Lava’s stomach turning, because it reminded her of her older twin sister’s cooking.
