Summary
Logan Sargeant is used to being pitied. His reputation often precedes him, earning him sympathetic looks he can't stand. Retiring from active duty at 23 after being shot on one of his first high stakes callouts does that to a man. Now he just helps out at the local animal shelter/emergency vet clinic, run by none other than Alexander Albon, and occasionally helps train new recruits how to handle firearms. It's alright, he supposes, but he can't help feeling cheated out of the life he should've led. He should be out there, serving the public and maintaining order
All he's ever wanted is to be needed, not pitied. Then pathogen X sweeps the global stage, turning everything on its head. Now people need him more than ever, but it's not the people he wants to save. Alex is in trouble. Oh, and there's some photographer they pick up along the way. A dog too, don't forget the dog.
