AZ had a certain ability to make her angel blush while also pushing her buttons. They were planning on a quiet night in at the bookshop with some tea and cake, but the demon was feeling a little stir crazy after not seeing Rafaela for a few weeks. She wanted to make up for lost time.
Maybe she should wear her red dress, the one that fitted her like skin? Or a robe with her favourite lingerie set underneath it? No, that would be too forward. Rafaela didn't always like forward.
Her phone pinged, the Archangel asking her what type of cake she wanted, preferably something to go with the tea. AZ’s eyes widened. Cake. Of course.
She snapped her fingers, miracling a large chocolate cake in the middle of the shop, one that was taller than her. AZ would think of an excuse for this later if Hell asked her about it. For now, she needed to figure out how to get in the cake…
Rafaela waltzed into the bookshop at exactly seven in the evening, the only appropriate time for an Archangel to arrive. Dressed in a pristine off-white suit with gold details, she carried a white bakery box as well as a bottle of wine as a surprise.
“AZ,” she called, placing her white leather jacket on the coat rack. “I'm here! Hope you like ginger cake. Thought it'd go the best with this new tea I got for the apothecary.”
No answer at first.
“AZ?” Rafaela called again, heels clinking as she walked down the hallway leading to the backroom. “You here? I also brought wine… ngk!”
In the center of the backroom sat a large, three-layered cake on a table. The top layer popped open while hot jazz played on the phonograph. Out of the cake stepped the demon AZ, dressed in a sparkly red dress, blonde hair in wispy waves, silver eyes lined with kohl. Rafaela’s jaw dropped as she watched her sway her full hips back and forth, slithering to the music as she climbed herself out of the cake. Then, she slowly stepped down the layers of the cake, only to slip and fall once her feet met the carpet.
“Oh dear,” Rafaela fretted, blinking out of her trance and rushing over to AZ. She lifted the demon in her arms, an impressive feat even for an Archangel, and carried her over to the settee. “You alright, sweetheart?”
AZ winced slightly as she propped her feet on the coffee table. “Yeah, think I just pulled something,” she sighed, gazing at Rafaela. “Sorry to mess up the surprise, Rafa.”
Rafaela giggled and kissed her lips. “It's alright,” she told her. “Let's relax tonight. Good thing the spices and tea have healing properties.”
They settled in for the evening with their tea and cake, then later opened the bottle of wine. As they sipped their wine, AZ asked, “Am I still wicked, angel?”
Rafaela scrunched her nose playfully. “The wickedest,” she assured her demon.
