Summary
In a world where women hold the power and men are expected to be soft, cossetted ornaments, Bartem Burrock is a little different, even among his own family of young men with royal aspirations and big appetites. Despite his family's standing, he doesn't have much interest in a dull marriage or any restriction on his freedom. He is far more interested in sport, be it going out riding or finding a lover for the afternoon in the local village.
When the kingdom's crown princess arrives to select one of the Burrock boys as her husband, Bartem assumes one of his curvier, more appealing brothers will be chosen. After all, who would want a thin prince? But like Bartem, Princess Ginevra is different, and far more interested in satisfying her own desires than doing what's expected of her.
