Bruce picked Danny up from the living room floor. He had fallen asleep there doing homework by the looks of it and he looked quite uncomfortable. So, Bruce decided to take it upon himself to get Danny up to his room.
It warmed his heart that Danny barely even stirred at being picked up and carried by him. It was so different than only months ago when he would jump when someone entered the room if he hadn't heard them walk up. But over time he had learned to trust the family he was staying with. One that was likely to become permanent if all the paperwork went as it should. Bruce had gotten Danny's permission to file the adoption papers and it was just a matter of making sure everything was in order.
Danny shifted a bit in his arms as he started his way up the main staircase. Bruce murmured a few reassurances and he settled again, shifting slightly. Had it been one of his other kids that shifting would have made it harder for him to keep a grip. But Danny weighed less than the others. He was skinny and even getting a lot of food into him didn't seem to change that fact. Though his doctor hadn't been worried once it kept up for months. The tests that were ran said he was healthy and some kids Danny's age were just naturally thin. It didn't help that Bruce was used to his sons that were all pure muscle from their nightly activities.
They made it up to Danny's room without any further issues. Bruce gently set him on the unmade bed and pulled the blankets over his sleeping teen. Before heading for the door he gently brushed the hair off Danny's face, taking one last look.
