Daisy loved the new brewpub that had opened up in the neighborhood were she worked. It was so much better than the last one in that space. This one was being run by people that actually seemed to care about the food. The last owners hadn't and so unless you wanted beer there was no point in going. It had become her favorite lunch spot.
And not just because of the food. But the drama of the owner and his life. Alec was a good guy from what she had seen which had made seeing him cheat on his girlfriend all the more surprising. Parker deserved better than that. Even worse it was with Eliot, the chef, that Daisy knew was friends with Parker. She had seen them talk regularly.
At first all had seemed normal. Alec did most of the managing and Eliot ran the kitchen. A pair of friends that went into business together. And Parker was there a lot because she was dating Alec.
But then one day when Daisy was heading to the bathroom she had spotted Alec and Eliot standing way too close for anything good to be happening. She was worried she was going to be calling for help until they had started kissing instead.
If she hadn't been so curious to find out what was going on she would have stopped coming to the brewpub. But between that and the top tier food she kept on going there for lunch.
She was sitting at her usual table with a bowl of excellent chili. It was an odd time it seemed and she was the only customer. Eliot was running the bar by himself. With Parker at the counter.
Watching her lean over the counter made Daisy decide maybe it wasn't cheating after all.
