Chapter Text
The Joker threw another knife at the picture of Batman on his wall, thousands of small holes around it with ripped up pictures stuck on the walls. The newest picture was a below shot of the caped crusader as he jumped down from a roof. His caped was billowing out to make it look like bat wings as he descended.
His latest duel with the Batman was anti-climactic and it made the Joker feel angry. He had gone to such an effort to set up a situation where he had to choose between his Robin and the lives of an entire building of people. Curse his luck but this Robin was particularly feral and got himself out the trap.
All the effort to hurt Batman – down the drain.
Joker huffed in disappointment. Another knife flew from his hand and stabbed into an old picture of Batman and Robin – the first robin and Joker’s favorite – arriving on the scene of a fight. Things were so much easier back then and the Batman would struggle between choosing between the child and a civilian when push came to shove. Of course, it never ended the way the Joker would have preferred but he loved seeing Batman squirm at the choice.
A figurative smile went off in Joker’s head and he lowered his head with a smile growing on his face. Harley Quinn, from the side as she feed her hyenas, noticed the change in his demeanor.
“You’re surprisingly perky, Mista J,” Harley Quinn noted.
“Oh, Harley, I just got the greatest idea,” the Joker said with a large and cruel smile.
“Oh?” Harley’s lips quirked up in interest. “And what is that, pumpkin?”
“I know the best way to hurt the batsy,” Joker laughed and threw his knife at the board. It hit its mark and settled deep into a picture of Nightwing and Starfire back-to-back in one of their fights in Jump city. “And that’s through his favorite birdie.”
