Summary

When Tara Markov and Jace Wilson al Ghul (Respawn) enter the Tower, the Titans recognize the shape of the trap, even if they cannot yet see its teeth. Slade Wilson is nearing the end of his war. Stripped of illusion and patience, he is no longer chasing victory—only proof. Proof that the Titans do not outgrow their flaws. _The rise of the superhero age on Earth has brought forth a lot of questions regarding the ethics and legalities of what it means to be Earth’s last defense. The establishment of the Justice League of America brings these conversations to light, and gets the public used to the ideas of Batman and Wonder Woman being seen on the street. Sometimes it’s useful, Superman stops the destruction of Metropolis at least once a week. Most people trust and depend on the new foundation of heroes. Unless you find yourself to be in the Robin trying to talk to civilians and get them out of dangerous situations. Or Speedy trying to get into a club to chase down a pickpocket. Even Wonder Girl isn’t immune to a bad math test at 10 am after a night of patrol. No one really knows what to do with young heroes. Without guidance or proper nurturing, the teens will find ways to have the life experiences that they need to develop into proper members of society, weather as civilians or as the new heroes of tomorrow.

His working theory was that she was nonverbal. At first he had thought she was deaf, but she could definitely hear him, so nonverbal was his next guess. He ended up trying to teach her ASL, but that proved difficult—mostly because he only knew the alphabet and the pledge of allegiance—but he was determined, so he went to his favorite place…the LIBRARY.
