What could go wrong?

OR, the autistic Tony Stark & The Avengers fic that we desperately needed.

Notes:

I am not autistic (I think) in anyway, so if this is offensive or inaccurate, please point it out and I’ll do my best to fix it.

Chapter 1: Prologue

Chapter Text

After the events of New York, Nick Fury found it beneficial to assemble all the avengers in one place and just debrief. Debrief everything, to be honest, the whole situation was worryingly chaotic and he was sure that the avengers needed some closure, if not therapy.

But from Tony’s perspective this was just a long and boring ‘spy talk’ that he had no reason to listen to and it really wasn’t his fault that he zoned out five minutes into the meeting, but, yeah, it was a bit of a surprise when he found that his hands were doing some kind of jig on the table, face flushed, he quickly pulled them underneath his thighs, and silently prayed that no one had saw his body betraying him. It was just his luck, when he looked up the whole team was staring at him expectantly.

“…Stark?”

“Uhm, yeah. I agree.”

“I expect you already have enough guest bedrooms to house five new occupants then?” Fury had one eyebrow raised.

The avengers moving into stark tower definitely made the most sense in terms of accommodation, but living in such close proximity to two world renowned spy-people wasn’t the best decision for someone whose livelihood depended on keeping himself - or at least a significant amount of him - secret. But then again Tony had never really had friends, he had accepted that he most likely never will a long time ago. But now teammates were the closest thing he was going to get, He surely wasn’t going to throw it away by denying them a place to stay. Plus he was feeling extra charitable after being named the saviour of New York, it should be fine, he had masked his way through MIT he just needed to tighten his reigns a bit.

“Of course I do, Captain Hook, Who do you take me for.”

The avengers living with him, easy, he can do this.
