Summary
After Afghanistan, James 'Bucky' Barnes opens a small Bakery in Brooklyn called 'Winter's Haze.' And at first, it was difficult. No one wants to work for a Veteran Amputee's bakery, yet everyone wants to buy there lunch there. Just when the stress of operating a bakery buy himself seems to become to much, a young girl by the name Kate Bishop appears on his shop doorstep. But before he can tell her 'sorry, we're closed', she reveals she's been dumped and kicked out by her abusive ex boyfriend. Not only that, but she's not even from Brooklyn- She moved here to live with that abusive ex a year prior, and now she's got no where to go. So, he takes her into his care. But somehow, after that comes plenty more traumatised strays from the streets of New York... and... the Avengers?!
Bucky sometimes wishes he was still his only employee.

Or the story of a 12 year old Tony escaping from months of torture in a cave to face his destiny as Iron Man, a little sickly 12 year old boy from Brooklyn gets taken in by the army to be experimented on and becomes a national icon having to guide his best friend - among other - through a war, a little girl turned a spy redeeming herself, a little boy with a penchant for arrows who got himself a spot in an international spy organization, a genius boy having a deadly experiment blow up in his face and surviving with devastating consequences, a prince of another realm trying to live up to expectations, another prince trying to live with the lack of expectations of him and a terrible truth. And many more stories of children faced with the burden of the safety of the world coming to rest on their shoulders despite their young age and somewhat coping - and then learning to cope as a family.

“What do you mean they don't know I'm alive, Nick?” Phil Coulsen's eyes were fixed hard on his boss, and if the tone of his voice or the way he leaned forward were perhaps a bit more threatening than was generally considered appropriate towards a superior Phil didn't really give a damn right now.
All in all, it might have been a bit more effective if he weren't still in medical, wearing a hospital gown.

Brock Rumlow was happy to die in the basement of Avengers Tower having not told them shit about the scepter, his buddies, or the Winter Soldier. He was content knowing that the Winter Soldier had escaped Hydra and that the scrambling factions of the organization would never touch him again.And then James Barnes walks into the Avengers Tower screaming at them to let Brock go and he has to wonder if he really deserves this.
He probably does.
