I Am Marvel
Nick's Poem

I am Captain America
I am strength personified
The world and everything I know turns on its head but I survive
I can not let this break me
I have to survive
I am Captain America

I am Spider Man
With great power comes great responsibility
I hold this deep in my heart
I take on the weight of the world
It is my duty to protect
I am Spider Man

I am The Hulk
Bottling up my emotions
Hiding my feelings
and the destruction inherent within them
I must hide who I am
I am The Hulk

I am Wolverine
Each slice, each cut causes rips through me
As the adamantium tears my skin
But I know I always heal
I carry on, I ignore the pain
I am Wolverine

 I am not Nick Nelson
I am not a scared, tired, hurt 16 year old
I will not allow myself to break
I do not need to ask for help
I will not feel this pain
I can carry on
I can be his superhero

Each day I put on this mask
I forget about Steve Rogers
I forget about Peter Parker and Bruce Banner
About Scott Lang and Logan Howlett
That they were people under their masks as well
People with needs and wants and desires

Because once the mask is off
I no longer know who I am
without him
