Divine Intervention- BUT ITS GAY!?

Summary:

Skizz may be an Angel like any other in many ways, but he sure wasn’t perfect like most of them were. Maybe he deserved to fall for this trait of his.

But could having a large heart really not be that okay?

(Or, Skizz looks over two ranchers, and save them when a fire nearly claims their lives)

Notes:

HOLY RANCHERS PROPOGANDA!! RAHHH!!

Work Text:

Skizz’s wings shot out from his back, as he felt himself plummet down, down, down.

He imagined this is what Falling felt like. Except probably a lot worse.

He kept his eyes trained on the ranch- his humans weren’t coming up to join him so soon. Maybe it was immature of him to call them HIS humans, to get so attached. But he would act childish if it meant saving their lives.

He swooped into the burning building, snatching the two where they had been desperately trying to work together to put out the flames from inside, flying them out to a far away place, and dropping them. He stumbled to a halt too, despite it not being a very angelic looking thing to do.

Jimmy coughed, Tango wheezing as he patted his partner’s back. “It’s okay Jim, we made it out alive, we..” he looked up, meeting eyes with Skizz.

“Who are you?” He seemed weary, and Skizz wouldn’t be surprised if Tango suspected the wings on his back were simply a figment of a hallucination he could’ve been experiencing.

“I’m your Angel. I… saw you in your ranch. That wasn’t fair.” Skizz replied, before hearing lightning strike nearby.

The clouds started to darken, much too quickly to be regular, and it was only the ones directly above their heads.

Skizz realised too late the consequences of his actions, he-

Pain struck out amongst his back, a fire lighting amongst the heavenly feathers that littered his wings. It was hot, scorching actually, but Skizz couldn’t put it to a stop. He knew what was happening, deep down.

He was simply in denial.

“Woah, are you okay!?” Tango seemed surprised by the sudden burst of flames.

“Ah, simply.. divine punishment, it’s…” Skizz’s voice came to a stop as he had to silence himself, as to limit risks of him screaming out from the pain.

He let himself fall to the floor, the pain overwhelming. He felt shrouded in flames, he- he..

It stopped.

But his wings.. oh dear. His wings would never be the same. Angelic, fluffy little feathers turned mangled and horrid.

Wings that used to be perfect for everything constantly, now ruined. Possibly unusable. Skizz swallowed.

“I was your Angel.” He corrected himself.
