Work Text:

Maybe he was overreacting a little…

Okay, so Bee was overreacting a lot, but he couldn't help it! They quickly realized when team prime moved to the new base, that there was way less space then the last.

It was so small in comparison, that Optimus decided they'd all have to bunk up. Ratchet with Optimus, Bulkhead and Magnus, (it was a whole thing, Wheeljack did not want to sleep next to Magnus of all people) Wheeljack and Arcee, and….

Bumblebee wanted to curl up into a ball and hide just thinking about it…

Smokescreen and bumblebee.

Now don't get him wrong, he had no problem with the speedster by any means. No, in fact it was quite the opposite, Bee wanted to melt into a puddle because of it.

He had excused himself after Optimus had announced this change. He intended for it to be nonchalant, and casual, but of course he had to stutter as he stammered out of the base.

Maybe no one noticed, it was pretty easy to miss it when he did stutter because of his beeps, but he was sure someone noticed.

Anyway, the point is, even if it was just sleeping in the same berth, it made Bee extremely flustered.

He might have maybe, possibly got a little crush on the rowdy mech… Okay, so it wasn't little, but the point still stands.

Now he was on his way back, driving at an unhurried speed on Nevada’s windy country roads, desert passing by again and again as he drove, because unfortunately he couldn't stay out for too long.

Things like this didn't typically phase him, he was used to rolling with the punches, but Smokey was just so clueless, but charming at the same time and it- well it did things to Bee.

As the base came into view, he felt his spark skip a pulse, the only reason he went for a drive was because he was extremely nervous..

The sun was already going down, making way for the night. Bee pulled up to the hanger base and transformers into his root-mode, he tried to be quiet about it, but of course that didn't work out, when he noticed Miko running out towards him.

She had a certain look on her face.

“Hiya, Bee..” the girl looked smug in a way, as she waltzed up to Bee's leg.

Arms swinging behind her as she spoke. “I heard you uh, ran out.”

Bee panicked a little, how could she, of all people, be the only person to notice?? “[What do I have to do to get you not to tell anyone?]”

Miko didn't understand a world he just beeped, but she interpreted it in her own little way. “Please please, thank me later! Worry not loverboy, I've read enough fanfiction to know exactly how to help you!”

He couldn't believe this, he couldn't believe this.

What originally was just him being flustered, had just turned into a slagshow

The pink haired girl kept going, “I'll get you and Smokes together in no time!” She said, as she gave him finger guns.

Bee's eyes narrowed as they spun in their casings. This couldn't be happening, she knew and she was going to try and get him with Smokescreen?!

Dear Primus, help him.

His entire body drooped and his servos landed on his thighs as he focused intently on the ground.

“[This is fine, everything is fine! I'll just sleep outside from now on…]” he muttered to himself.

Miko was walking towards his legs, clapping her hands together. “First order of business, I need your translator!” Of course she was referring to Raf.

“Hey, where is Raf anyway?” She spun around, looking at the hangar doors.

She flapped a hand as she turned back around. “You know what? I don't need to translate you, I'll just set you and Smokes up on a date!”

Bee froze, his doorwings going rigid due to stress “[Miko! You don't need to do that, it's fine really-”] his servos went up as he stepped towards the small child.

“I know, I know, I'm a genius right?” Frag, she couldn't understand him. Oh no. Bee was panicking even more inside as Miko kept talking, wondering how they would have a date to begin with.

Of course Bumblebee had other things in his processor right now..

What if he doesn't like him back? Then he'll probably just be awkward and their friendship will be ruined forever! Or what if he doesn't show? Every outcome that came to mind ended with Bee having to share a berth with him and be forever awkward.

This was exhausting.

Miko’s hands clapping together again brought him out of his thoughts. “I know! You guys can go star gazing! Oooh, alone..!” She wiggled her eyebrows at him.

Then of course, to make everything worse…

“What are we talking about?” Bee wanted to die.

Where did he even come from!?!

Smokescreen had his arms crossed as he stopped, just shy of Miko.“Oh hey Bee!”

That stupid smile was not helping his resolve right now. “[Hi.]” Bee let out, his reply forced and stiff, but it came out as an exhausted sounding trill.

The speedster noticed this, and walked over, Chevron adorned brows knit together. “Did that drive wear you out or something? You sound beat!” He chuckled slightly, as he laid a servo on Bee's shoulder.

Before Bee even realized it, he was being guided into the hanger. “You should get some rest, you sound like you just-”

Bee ducked to escape his grasp, his hands flying up in a dismissive gesture as he stepped back a few strides. “[N-no I'm good, thank though!]”

Smokescreen watched him transform and drive off. Okay… that was weird.

Miko turned to him. “C'mon Smokes! I'm not letting him get away this time!!”

He looked down at the girl “what- Miko I can't, he needs his space.”

Because of his response, Miko was contemplating her ways to get him to help her. She could- no that would be bad! She couldn't tell Smokescreen about why! But she couldn't get them together if they weren't ever together to begin with!!

She was at a battle with herself in her head before she finally decided. It was for the greater good, Bumblebee…

“Smokes..” she spoke with all the conviction she could muster. “You need to know how important this is..”

Miko puffed up her chest as she bent her elbows.

The speedster gave her a side eye.. “You squaring up to me, squirt?”

With a scoff, her elbows dropped as she slumped slightly. “What?! No! I was-” she sighed, clapping her hands together.

“As much as it pains me to spill the beans, I must.”

That part intrigued Smokescreen, and he looked at her fully. “Miko, what are you talking about?”

Miko motioned for him to come closer, and she took a deep breath as Smokescreen kneeled down. “Bee likes you.”

Smokescreen went deadpan. “Well duh, of course he does.. he's like one of my bestest friends, ever..”

Looking directly into his optics, Miko went wide eyed. “How oblivious are you?!* She balled her hand into a fist at her side while the other pointed at him, eyes narrow.

“Oblivious??” Smokescreen scoffed “you cannot be talking!”

The pink haired girl huffed “that's not the point, okay okay.. he uh, like likes you.”

This just made him more confused. “What does that even mean?”

Miko wanted to shake him. “He has a fat fragging crush on you!!” She yelled.

Smokey went wide-opticed, looking the direction Bee sped off to. “Wait, really?”

For a moment, Miko thought she made a massive mistake, until Smokescreen- Smokescreen, of all bots, squealed.

“That's amazing!! I mean, it's not amazing that he got stressed out about it, but i-i think he's cool y'know…. And we get to share a berth! This is awesome!! Unless that's too much for him of course- but mech, this is really grea-”

“SHUT UP!” Miko cut through his rambling. “We can't do anything about it if you just stand there fangirling!”

Miko smirked to herself, cackling slightly. “Time to get two gay robots together! Transform so we can go get your new babe, Smokes!”

She pointed at him, with a grin, and he jumped slightly before transforming, drivers side door popping open.

“Let's go!” She threw a fist in the air once she got inside, only to smack into his roof. “OW that hu- hey why aren't we moving?”

“Aren't you forgetting something?” She grumbled as she put the seatbelt on.

Soon they were speeding off into the road, but not too fast, she noticed.. clearly Smokes was afraid of messing up again after the first few times.

Miko giggled maniacally to herself, this was happening.

---

Bee had been driving nearly all day now, including earlier.. well, probably not all day, but still enough to get him needing to stretch his legs. So he transformed behind some rocks, the road could still see him, but it was flat enough that he could transform if he saw any cars.

His spinal strut tensed as he stretched, leaning back slightly, as his arms went up above his head. That's when he heard an engine mid stretch- damnit! And it was a good stretch too!

He panicked and transformed and hid before the rocks, but then he heard the sound of melted shifting. Then Miko was running towards him.

“Bumblebee!” Oh no.

“Bee it's fine,” she flapped a hand at him, her other one perched on her hip. “He likes you back!”

Bee wanted to scream. Of course he didn't, because he couldn't, but still. She told him?!?

He quickly transformed. “[Miko, what the frag?! Why would you- wait, oh Primus, who brought you here?]”

She smiled, patting the side of his tire in his leg. “I know, I know, I'm a miracle worker!”

Sputtering, Bee was about to continue panicking to the equivalent of a brick wall, when Smokescreen stood in front of him.

“Hey Bee…” But suddenly forgot about the girl completely, as he looked at Smokey. He felt servos grab his, and his doorwings shot up, optics cycling wide, as aqua blue ones stared back.

“[H-hey…]”

Miko was loving this, both had seemingly forgotten about her in the moment, and now she'd finally get to see robots- Gay. Robots. KISSING!! Hopefully anyway..

She watched as they just looked into each others optics, both sets of doorwings drooping slightly in a relaxed manner, and Miko reached for her phone to- NO! she forgot her phone!! How is this even possible?!

Groaning, she looked in her overalls chest pocket- nope, not there either, then she heard metal shifting. When she looked up, she wanted to squeal, the fanfiction was all true!

Bee was cupping Smokes faceplate as the latter had his hands around the scouts body, holding him close as they're dermas pressed together softly, Bee's optics blinking closed soon after Smokescreens.

She was mad that she forgot her phone, unbelievably mad.. until she felt a buzz in her shoe- are YOU KIDDING-

She pulled it out in a last ditch effort to salvage the situation, Ratchet was calling her, but she has more important things to do!

When she looked up, she snapped a picture, and the clicking sound is what brought the two out of it.

“M-meeko!!”

Snapping her phone closed, she put it away. “Scrapbooking adventures!”

As she turned away to giggle and cackle at the picture, Bee turned Smokey’s helm back to look at him. “[I'm thinking that recharge sounds nice now..]”

Smokescreen kissed him on the modulator, before smiling at him with a dopey grin. “Great idea after all, huh?”

Bee's optics went wide. “[Wait, how'd you know she-]” Smokey's dopey grin shifted to a cocky smirk, and Bee bapped him on the shoulder.

“[Smokey, you little fragger…]” his modulator went down, and he kissed Smokey once more, arms wrapping around his neck.

Hey, who knows, maybe Miko is a genius after all.

To be continued maybe?

It was supposed to be a only one bed trope, but like... Part two maybe, who knows
