That wicked vampire

Summary:

"I said, are you hungry?" Elphaba asked again, an eyebrow raised as she saw Galinda look a different direction every millisecond. "You look rather famished."

Galinda's eyes were now fixated on Elphaba, and Elphaba only. Her stomach felt empty, like a cold hole. Even though she was quite literally starving, she couldn't think of any way she'd be able to eat actual human food without puking. She needed blood, and blood only.

"As a matter of fact, I am."

--

Or, Galinda is a vampire but Elphaba doesn't know, but having such a big secret is oh so very hard when you have to keep it from someone you're so close to.

Chapter 1: Cravings

Summary:

"You need to rest Elphie, you've been reading all day!"

"It's for a test" Elphaba explained, sighting as she leaned on the other girl.

"Well, it's still reading. And I think you'll nail it, you always do." Galinda said, staring at the green girls neck, thinking about they'd even gotten to this point.

Chapter Text

Galinda watched as Elphaba, or Elphie as she liked calling her now, walked into the room and put her way too heavy books on the counter. "Hi Elphie!" Galinda chimed to her roomate as she rubbed her face with micellar water. Elphaba turned around from her desk and smiled, her green hands still laying on the books. "Hi Glinda." Her voice was drowsy and she had to stiffle a yawn at the end of her sentence. Galinda loved when Elphie yawned. It'd make her face scrunch up, even though she'd always try to hide it with her hand. It was quite cute if you'd ask her. "Where were you?" Galinda asked as she moved the cotton bad from her face to her lashes, taking off any mascara left. The question was just a trick. she knew where her Elphie would be. Either in the library or talking with Madame Morrible. Or Dr Dillamond - or any other professor for that matter. "At the library" Elphaba sat down said as she sat down in her bed, already reading one of her books. I know. Galinda had to bite her lip to not say it out loud. She got back to taking off her mascara, and when she was done she moved over too her skincare. First her serum, then her eye cream-
Her thoughts were interrupted by another yawn, this time not trying to stay hidden. Galinda turned around to face Elphaba, who slowly looked up from her book as she felt the eyes of her roomate pierce into her head. "Uh, Galinda are you okay?" She asked, tilting her head to the side and raising an eyebrown. The girl just huffed and walked over. She put her hand on the book and threw in on the desk, earning a frustrated groan from the her victim. "Seriously Galinda?"

Galinda giggled slightly as she pushed Elphaba into the bed, landing on top of her. She grinned as she found a perfect spot in the crook of Elphaba's neck. While Galinda was giggling on her, the younger girl's breath tickling Elphaba a bit. She tried to hide the dark green blush covering her face by looking away, but Galinda wouldn't break eye contact.

It wasn't long since the two had become friends, maybe around three weeks? But even with such short time, Galinda and Elphaba had become attatched at hip. Galinda started sitting with her everywhere. In classes, during breaks, even during her classes with Madame Morrible, as Elphie had been the reason she even got to join. But now that they were friends, it was even harder for the pink-loving girl to not pounce on her roomate. She couldn't let her know. She was a blood sucking, disqusting creature. No, she could never tell her. One day, an absolutely dreadful day for Galinda, before they had become friends, when they would constantly bicker, Dr Dillamond has started talking about 'The history of vampires' and how they were real. Almost nobody belived him, so of course, nobody was actually listening. Everyone but Elphaba. She had written down about everything the goat had said, nodding everytime he would point something out. Very non-true points. "Vampires suck blood from their victims with no mercy." He had pointed to the blackboard where there was a drawing of a girl with fangs while jabbering about vampire 'myths' that he belived in. Or he just had to teach them and didn't actually care about vampires. Could be both. Nothing extreme. Elphaba had fangs too, and she didn't even know vampires existed! Even though it had been a while, Galinda felt the unease in her stomach again. Did her roomate, her friend belive in vampires? Or was she just facinated by the fact that someone could come up with the idea of such a frightening monster? Monster, yes. That was all she was.

She remembered the time back when she was around 10. She had such a craving for her classmates blood she told her teacher she was sick. She knew she didn't have the self control to not pounce on them. She felt absolutely disqusting. Of course, she hadn't told Momsie and Popsicle. She didn't want them to see her in such a bad state. But when the Uplander's were home and saw their starving daughter, they didn't make her feel bad about it. She knew her parents were also vampires, and even though they had to hide their actual self from the world, it felt good to at least have somebody on you side.

"Uh, Oz to Galinda?"

Galinda sharpened her focus as she heard the snap of a finger. She blinked a few times, looking rather confusified before smiling, looking up at her roomate with doe-like eyes. "Hm?" She tilted her head to get a better view of the green girls neck. Oh if she could just sink her fangs in-

"I asked you a question." Elphaba rolled her eyes, but in a playful way. They weren't on those 'annoying each other' terms anymore, thank Oz. "Sorry, I dozed off." Galinda still kept her smile plastered on her face, her eyes shifting between looking at Elphaba's face and her way too exposed neck.

"As a matter of fact, I am." Galinda smirked and reached out across Elphaba to take her hand, as her other one was around Galinda's waist. "Give me your hand."

Elphaba almost didn't look suprised. She had lost count of the amount of times the pink girl had nibbled on her arm for no reason. "That isn't going to calm your hunger, Galinda." She explained. "You need nutrition, and if you don't get enough-" Galinda put her index finger in front of Elphaba's mouth. "No gawky rambling now. Calm your nerves and give. me. your. arm." It wasn't a question, it was a command. The green girl sighed and lifted her arm to her side, turning half her body around to let Galinda get better acess. Her eyes lit up and she leaned down, carefully gnawing. She did it so softly that so there wouldn't be any marks on her emerald skin. But mostly because she knew if she got the slightest tastd of blood, she would freak out.

"You know, I could get you some actual food."

Galinda shook her head, teeth still grazing Elphaba's skin, which let out a yelp from the girl under her. Galinda pushed her hand away immidiately, looking at Elphie with fear in her eyes. "You have really sharp teeth." Elphaba hissed, looking down at her arm. And to Galinda's horror, there was a small trail of blood. Which meant, she got it on her fangs. She pushed herself off so quickly her vision became blurry before snapping right back again and running to the bathroom. She coudln't swallow. She couldn't. But her throath was suddently so dry it felt numb. So she swallowed as she turned the water on. She freezed. She had swallowed.

She soat in the sink and swallowed as much water as she could. But the taste lingered in her mouth, like a teasing. It was warm with way more iron than what she had tasted before. But those were from blood donors, this blood was drinken right from it's source. And the source was her friend, her roomate, the girl she once had loathed with her whole heart. Oh Oz it felt so good. She had never tasted anything as good before. It made her feel tipsy, like a clumsy teenagers first sip of alcohol. Her panic had melted away, left with only one thought. Elphaba.

"Galinda, are you okay in there?" She hear Elphaba's voice from the other side of the door. "It was just a little accident, I'm fine." Her voice dragged Galinda out of her spiraling thoughts, making the fear slowly creep back in. She had just swallowed Elphabas blood. Oz knows if she's able to hold herself back from her blood.

"Yeah, I just, uh- I'm not the biggest fan of blood." She squeaked out, burying her face in her hands. Oh what a monster she was. "It wasn't you fault, you were just trying to give me an answer." Elphaba said, her voice suprisingly calm. "It didn't even hurt. I just easily flinch."

Galinda didn't answer.

"My sweet, can you please come out?"

Galinda shot up almost immidiately, again making spots appear in her vision. Elphie had only called her that a few times, and her chest got filled with warmth every time. She slowly reached out for the doorhandle and twisted it, and when she opened the door she was met with warming eyes, full with worry. "My sweet." She murmured, letting Galinda fall into her arms. "I'm sorry Elphie, I overreacted." Galinda whispered as she felt Elphaba walk her over to her pink, fluffy bed, her arms still holding her. "Hey, it's not your fault, you just got a bit worried." Sa sat down on the bed, leaning her back on the bedboard, letting Galinda lay across her. "And you know, I'd probably do the same damage to you if I were the one biting. One time I almost bit someone's finger off "

"I didn't bite!"

Elphaba chuckled, twirling strands of curly, blonde hair between her fingers. "I know, I know." Her hand's massaged Galinda's scalp, making her realise exactly how tired she was. Guess the hunger was the only thing she was able to think about. As dozed off, feeling the warmth from her roomate's skin and the smell from the blood on her arm swirling up her nose.
