Virgil was so stressed, he could barely function.
It was making his seizures worse, but because it was non-epileptic, it's not even like he could get particularly good medication for it, instead taking mood stabilizers to address the underlying causes.
But clearly that didn't fucking matter at the moment, he was seizing anyways.
Logan walked into the kitchen and found the man convulsing on the floor. Worry immediately unfurled in his gut. He wasn't sure how long Virgil had been like that or if he was hurt.
Thankfully, it seemed as though Virgil had gotten an aura beforehand, considering he was lying on his side and there wasn't any blood, but it was still concerning.
Logan immediately sprung into action, grabbing a rag off the counter and folding it up as densely as he could to put under Virgil's head, hoping to minimize the risk of a concussion.
Once he did that, he knelt by Virgil and very carefully placed a hand on his shoulder, feeling the tense muscles under his hand. He retracted his hand and sighed.
"It's alright, Virgil" he said gently. "I'm here. It'll be over soon. You're gonna be okay"
Foamy drool poured down the side of Virgil's face, so Logan pre-emptively got a paper towel so he could clean it up once the seizure was over.
Virgil was always more upset when he came back to himself, only to find that he was covered in his own saliva.
Soon enough, the seizure ended, so Logan gently wiped away the liquid from the man's face.
Virgil looked at him, confused and scared. It broke Logan's heart, seeing him so bewildered, but he kept a level head about it.
He's simply going through the postictal phase, he reminded himself. He will be okay. He just needs time, care, and patience.
"You had a seizure" Logan said softly. To his horror, Virgil began to cry. He was always a bit upset after seizures, but this was new.
"W'nt 't to s'op" Virgil blubbered out, upset. Logan felt his heart break all over again as he pulled the other side into his arms and rubbed gentle circles on him.
"It's okay" Logan said in as gentle a tone as he could manage. "I know it's hard, but I'm here for you. The others are here for you. You're on medication now. It will get easier"
Virgil didn't respond in words, only unintelligible muttering and sobs. Logan simply held him until the crying died down, at which point Virgil began to drift off into sleep.
It wasn't uncommon for him to fall into a nap after a seizure.
"Alright" Logan muttered as he picked up the sleepy man in his arms. "Let's get you to bed"
"T'red"
"I know" Logan nodded, bringing Virgil to his room. "I've got you"
And I always will.
