Chapter Text
The house is already sweltering by the time they arrive. Salty air. Sticky shirts. Sirius kicks the front door open like he owns the place (he does).
Nobody realizes Regulus is here until ice clinks in his glass.
“Welcome,” he says dryly, dripping with sweat and sarcasm.
Sirius pushes past. James shrugs, still cheerful. Peter gnaws his lip.
Remus freezes. “Didn’t realize this was a family reunion.”
“Didn’t realize you were family,” Regulus replies.
James laughs, wriggling his brows. “Come on, Reg. We’re all basically family here.”
Remus groans. Regulus scoffs. Neither argue.
They just settle in—prepared for the worst.
