“I'm not scared of you.”
Merlin’s face snapped up, eyes wild and horrified and endlessly dark. “What?”
“I know what you are.”
“I don't know what you’re talking about.”
“Merlin, you don’t have to worry,” Arthur was almost face to face with him now. “I won’t tell anyone.”
Something buzzed beneath his skin at the way Merlin’s eyes met his, and he willed his racing heart to slow, if not only for the mercy of the man in front of him.
“Tell them what?”
“That-” he fought the gulp that grew in his thick throat. “That you’re a vampire.”
