A Path Towards Abnormality

Summary:

In the fantasy/dystopian world, the government of Oushizolynn were having possibly one of their most important experiments yet: to bring someone from their parallel world, Aposthirum, into their world. Everything goes almost well, except that the person was supposed to land on the Palace of IT but the experiment was nowhere to be seen. Meanwhile, the experiment happened to be on a 10 year old named Naomi that was already alone as one can be

Notes:

Y'all this is my first work here so hopefully this turns out nicely! This is a story that i've been working for years now and you may find more of it on my Unvale acc (EmoCrystalRat) where there are the character designs and more detail lore and stuff
Also, English isn't my first language and I am a minor (plz keep that in mind)
Characters in this chapter:
-Naomi (the child): She/her 10 yrs (name and pronouns will change later in the story. I'm just saying Naomi bc they didn't figure themselves out until later on) Desc: Was a child from a Aposthirum that fell victim to Oushizolynn's experiment
-Milo: He/him. 37 yrs desc: He has three eyes that are visible at all times and, addditionaly, has psychic powers. Is native to the world of Oushizolynn but isn't considered Oushizolain by blood and for that, his chances on having a "normal" life are near impossible

Chapter 1: Alien Experiment

Chapter Text

Harsh winters dance and laugh as the people of Oushizolynn fight for survival. Strict winds rush to hopefully get a blessing from our leader. A child that now walks on the road filled with dust of snow seems to be in the middle of it all, wondering how just a few moments can change a life. the little one remembers being left in the streets by her father figure as punishment. Nothing new to the child nor her 7 other siblings. What was truly impacting was wondering the streets as usual to find a mysterious puddle of water (despite it not having rained for a couple of days) and then suddenly there was a huge eye and hands grabing the young one. remembering how desperatly she kicked her feet and yelled for help. It felt as if it passed seconds before suddenly being in a comepletly new place for who knows how long.

It’s not like there was much to miss from home, but neither does it feel bearable to live so far away from home in a different world. Literally. There’s nothing to eat, nowhere to stray away from the cold. It's like the gods wanted this specific child to suffer. What in Lain's name did this kid do? Be spat away from the little one's come by one's own guardian? The little one legs barely move at all, for it has been walking for a tirelessly amount of time. The 10 year old's brain knows it as it shut downs the body against the little one's will and is now collapsed there, alone in the cold. Pedrestians pass by to go on to their lives as usual like there's nothing to see as the guards continue their usual duty to keep an eye on the common folks.

Luckily, it seems that there are someone approaching. A unexpected surprise delivered to the unconscious child. A person with three eyes? How unusual. Not something you see everyday, especially a sight of a three eyed man trying to save a foreign 10 year old from a different planet. The man tries to see what has happened to the child with hurried eyes. He knows he can't just let the kid die here, especially knowing what would happen if the guards found it here...but neither is a place willed with poverty, but what choice is there? It would be cruel to leave it out. He picks up the child carefully and brings it to his house and prepares a warm cup of lemon tea while the kid warms up a bit. He waits for a while but the child still hasn't woken up, was he too late? He checks the kid to see if it's still cold. The child wakes up and screams to see a random dude and goes immediately to the furthest corner. The three eyes guy flinches a bit and tries to reassure the child that he's not gonna do anything. "wait, wait, wait! I'm not gonna hurt you, I promise! I was just trying to help you!" The child still stands at the corner in fear and shifts into a ball-like position, allowing the child to avoid seeing anything. The three eyed man sighs and decides it's best to lave the little one alone for at least a bit. Maybe, he considered, letting the little kid out from someone who can possibly take care of this child better? But who can he trust and, again, there's lots of dangers. One person comes to mind but...forget it. The guy finalizes his decision that he'll keep the kid, at least temporialy. But for now...it's best to check if the kid needs help in other ways. The three eyed man was about to speak but thought it would be best to let the child just take it's time to familiarize with her new surroundings.

The scared 10 year old wanted to get out but was too afraid to go back in the outside where it's cold and scary. Who is this guy and how did I got here the child thought but couldn't verbally say it. She thought it would be best to keep a good distance from the guy but stay for now. Maybe this guy isn't too bad?

For the rest of the day. She tried to keep to herself while he gave her space to process everything. He already knows the story of what happens thanks to his psychic powers but would rather her say it herself to build trust (also, that would be strange to find a stanger randomly know how you came into a different world. hate it when that happens). The first night, she couldn't help but have nightmares about the recent events. She was desperatly attempting to minimize the sound of her cries in hopes no one hears it. Tough luck,he guy noticed but hw is he supposed to confort a 10 year old that still is skeptical of him? An idea comes to him and he goes out of the small room for a bit before coming back with a pin. "Here, this pin will make the unwanted dreams dissapear" he mentions before handing it out to the sobbing kid. The kid doesn't know what he just said due to language barriers but observes the pin before putting it on. She does feel a bit better and decides to rest some more.

To her surprise, the nightmare went away! Maybe that's what he was trying to say! She felt a bit better by the following morning, went outside, grabbed a nice-looking rock, and gave it to the three eyed guy. He accepted the gift (though a bit confused) and felt that she was more open and decided it might be time to give a more formal introduction.

"The name's Milo, I saw you were alone in the streets and decided to shelter you, at least for now. If your okay with it.". The kid just kept staring back in silence.

"What's your name?" Milo attempted to provoke a respond but nothing.

"You don't talk, do you?. Can you understand me?" he asked yet not even a nod or a shake of the little head was provided.

"I suppose I would have to teach you the basics of speech and such...if I can do that. Your name's Naomi, isn't it" Milo "guessed" (again, psychic powers) and Naomi stared back in slight surprised, though it's not too visible. Milo couldn't help but giggle a bit before stopping

"Let's start simple: can you say my name: Milo?"

"Mimi" Naomi answered, causing Milo to blink a couple of times.

"N-no, it's Mi-lo"

"Mimi"

"no no, it's Mi-lo"

"Mimi"

"...I think were done with practice for today" Mimi said as he sighed softly before Naomi whispered

"Mimi"

Milo finally just looked down to wonder what did he do wrong and for a while Naomi just kept referring him as Mimi
