Summary
1835— The heiress of the Rochechouart family has returned to her ancestral home, safe from the tyrannical hold of the baron who ruined her. In the wake of recovering from months of irreparable damage to her body and mind, her much-anticipated wedding prompts the return of her younger brothers from the army, who plan to give her away.
