   Summary

   Two years after their breakup, both Ilya and Shane are retired from hockey. Ilya has settled in Toronto in a co-parenting arrangement. Shane retreated from the media spotlight and seemed to disappear altogether from the world of hockey.

   This story traces their breakup through the isolation of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020-2021, where love, deep and desperate, is not enough.

   Then, in 2022, one cold winter night in Toronto, an accidental text could change everything for them once more.
