The rebel army of bandits and peasants mourned the tragic loss of their great leader Cormac. He had helped overthrow a king who had been completely indifferent to his subjects’ suffering. Now the army leader lay dead from the tragic fate of irony and a witch’s curse, having taken a crossbow bolt to the throat and then having it ripped out. A priest began performing a blessing for the fallen leader.
However, there was little time to mourn as the rebel army soon heard a crashing boom from outside the castle, louder than anything anyone of them had ever heard before. Everyone quickly went outside to see what had made the noise. They thought that maybe it was a sign from the heavens due to their beloved leader recently departing for the afterlife. The crowd of people looked up to see a gigantic grey object floating in the sky. Its size and shape were unlike anything anyone had ever seen.
“This is indeed a sign from the heavens! On your knees, everyone! An angel has blessed us with its presence!” the priest commanded. The entire crowd kneeled as everyone continued to gaze up at the terrifying object in the sky.
Soon, a smaller object detached itself from the terrifying giant one and slowly descended toward the ground near the castle. The rebel army watched the descending object with a mixture of fear and wonder. They wanted to know what sort of heavenly being would grace them with its presence. The people waited with apprehension as the object finally landed and a door began opening.
Out of the strange object stepped three beings completely covered in a shiny and thick silvery-grey armour. Their helmets glowed blue around the location of their eyes and each of the strange beings was holding a device that the people had never seen before.
“Truly, we are blessed to be greeted by messengers from the Lord,” the priest said as he approached the three armoured beings, “Praise to God above for your presence my-” The priest was instantly incinerated before he could even finish speaking. It turned out that the three armoured beings were carrying weapons.
“Hey! I don’t think these beings are from heaven. I think they’re from hell!” one of the bandit-warriors stated.
“Yeah! Let’s drive them back to the Devil where they belong!” another one shouted. Soon, many members of Cormac’s rebel army had their weapons drawn and some even mounted horses. Those who charged toward the three armoured beings were incinerated before they could get anywhere close. Projectiles like arrows and stones bounced off the beings’ armour without causing the slightest bit of damage. Larger stones launched from trebuchets were destroyed midair. The three armoured beings had incredible aim and made quick work of their attackers without so much as a scratch.
After seeing their brethren get completely slaughtered, the remaining warriors lay down their weapons and offered their surrender. However, not a single one of them was spared from incineration. Once the entire army had been taken care of, the three armoured beings then turned their attention to the palace. They were able to sweep through the entire thing, exterminating all remaining inhabitants on sight, without anyone being able to put up any resistance against their weaponry.
All the surrounding towns and villages also wound up being completely annihilated by the three seemingly unstoppable armoured beings.
More small vessels began detaching from the ominous giant object in the sky and descending toward the earth. It turned out that the armoured beings were from neither heaven nor hell, but rather from an alien world far, far away. They had come to conquer Earth and eliminate its inhabitants.
