Just A Bite?

Summary:

Luis is hungry and needy while Leon just wants to go back to sleep

Work Text:

It wasn’t often Luis slept. He was a vampire, they didn’t need sleep like other creatures did. If he was tired enough, he would take a nap during the day and that would do the trick for the most part.

Luis slowly blinked his eyes open. The first thing he noticed was that it was still dark in the bedroom, so it must be the early hours of the morning. The second thing he noticed was the warm body sound asleep in his arms. Leon.

Luis hummed tiredly and pressed himself against Leon’s back, trying to get as close to him as possible. Vampires weren’t able to circulate blood through their bodies like other creatures could, so Luis was almost always cold. Coincidentally, werewolves ran hot, so Luis always used Leon as his personal heater, especially during the winter. On hotter nights, Leon used Luis’ body to cool off.

A symbiotic relationship. Something like that.

Luis played this game every night - waiting for Leon to wake as he lay next to him. Werewolves still needed sleep, they weren’t as fortunate as vampires to stay up for days without rest.

The Spaniard yawned and snuggled his face into the crook of Leon’s neck. He smelled so good and felt so warm. Luis’ fangs itched to tear into his flesh and feed, but he knew better. While Leon was his food source, Luis didn’t want to break his lover’s trust by feeding off of him without his consent, so he stayed still and opted to wallow about being cold.

It was unfair at how cold it was, really. Leon was warming him up, but it didn’t do much. Luis considered getting up to take a warm bath, but he didn’t want to risk waking his sleeping boyfriend in the process. Plus, he was comfortable. What was the point in getting up if he was already cozy here?

A few hours had to pass before the first signs of light began to bleed into the master bedroom. ‘Finally.’ Luis thought, eager to have Leon awake to the world again. Sometimes Luis believes he was born as the wrong species. Although he was incredibly smart, he was a bit too gullible compared to other vampires and was easily excitable by the smallest things. In a perfect world, he’d have been born a werewolf.

No time to dwell on his species, though, Luis had a boyfriend to wake!

He shuffles back behind Leon, having moved around quite a bit in bed while waiting for the sun, and tucks his face back into the wedge of the blonde’s shoulder.

“Leon,” Luis purrs, dragging out the n. “Despierta, mí amor.”

He turns his head and kisses the skin a few times, nipping it teasingly for good measure (and to (not really) settle his hunger).

Leon stirs slightly- a shift of his muscles and twitch of his lips. Luis grins.

“I know you’re awake, my love,” he continues. “Let me feed and I’ll let you go right back to sleep, hm? Once in a lifetime deal coming from me. You wouldn’t want to leave your lover starved and hungry, would yo-“

The vampire gets cut off when Leon pushes back against him and rolls onto his back on top of Luis, forcing an undignified squeak out of him. He squirms and strains under the werewolf’s weight, who just lays there with no indication to move.

“Leon, you bastard! Get- off of me, you lump of fur!”

Instead of moving like Luis had asked (demanded), he has the gall to laugh at his suffering. Unbelievable.

“Leon, mí amor, mí tesoro, luz de mí vida, I am begging you-“

“You’re doing a pretty terrible job at it.” Leon quips, earning a concerningly genuine gasp from Luis.

“I’ll have you know I am a fantastic beggar. I wasn’t hearing many complaints the other night, eh?”

Leon snorts, rolling off of Luis onto his stomach just to lay right back down on the Spaniard again, this time face to face. Luis wheezed slightly but still grinned.

   “You’re terrible.”

“I was just thinking the same about you.”

Luis scoffs and kisses Leon before he can say anything else to further damage his wounded pride. He ran his tongue along the pointed end of one of Leon’s fangs, a pleasant shiver running down his spine. He feels Leon’s huff of amusement against his lips.

They kiss lazily for a moment, enjoying each other as the sun steadily rose higher in the sky. It was peaceful- something that Luis is pleased he has been able to get used to ever since he and Leon seemingly fell off the face of the earth. Luis had gotten tangled up in some trouble when he got found out as a vampire so Leon helped him escape.

Now they lived together on the outskirts of a lonely town, far away from everything and everyone that could hurt them.

Luis was pulled back to the present when Leon broke the kiss and hid his face in the vampire’s neck, his fluffy ears tickling Luis’ jawline. He lifted a hand and began to gently scratch the place behind Leon’s ear, who let out a content sigh.

“Big baby.” Luis coos. He could feel Leon’s face heat up in embarrassment as he tried to hide his face.

“‘M not a baby.” Leon muttered.

“You are sure acting like one right now.”

   “Fuck off.”

Luis laughs and leans into the crook of Leon’s neck, trying to get as close to him as he possibly could. He could feel Leon’s small smile against his cool skin.

They lay tangled up in each other’s limbs for a while, both unwilling to leave one another’s comfort. Luis traced the length of Leon’s spine as he lay mostly motionless. His tail swayed in a lazy but happy manner under the blankets, making a soft whoosh sound against the fabric.

However, the longer Luis stayed pressed so close to Leon’s body the more aware he became of his hunger. He could practically taste the blood that lay beneath the layer of skin.

“Leon,” the Spaniard started, earning a short hum in response. “As much as I’m enjoying this, I was serious about being hungry.”

“Rare coming from you,” the blonde mutters, making Luis sigh in faux annoyance.

   “Laughing at my misery.”

A laugh rumbles deep in Leon’s chest, making a small thrill run up Luis’ spine. Without much of another word, Leon tightens his hold around Luis’ torso and flips them over so that the vampire was on top. Luis pulls back slightly, admiring the sleepy but content look on Leon’s face. The muscles were relaxed and his pupils were slightly more dilated than usual.

“Very smooth.” Luis murmured, a small smile tugging on his lips.

   “I try.”

Luis gave a brief hum in response. He ducked down and peppered kisses along the side of Leon’s neck, making him shiver slightly.

Luis’ voice is quiet when he speaks, as if he spoke any louder it would break the gentle and fragile scene they created. “May I?”

Leon nods, and that’s all Luis needs.

He bites down into the crook of Leon’s shoulder and his whole body sings with pleasure as the familiar taste and warmth of the werewolf’s blood hits Luis’ tongue. He growls involuntarily, the hold he has on Leon’s body tightening. Leon grunts and throws his head back, tensing and then quickly relaxing. His hand flies up to cradle the back of Luis’ head, the other ripping the bedsheets under his claws.

No matter how many times they do this, the reaction will always be the same. There’s nothing Luis loves more than being able to drink directly from Leon’s body. The act was as intimate as sex in vampiric culture. Being able to feel his pulse on his tongue and to consume the very thing that keeps his lover alive, which in turn keeps Luis alive, made him feel wild.

Eventually, the vampire unlatched his jaws from Leon’s shoulder to greedily lick up the blood that pooled slowly from the bite wound. A series of soft purrs and growls vibrated in Luis’ chest, his body finally settling down now that it’s gotten what it needed. Leon soothes him through it, carding his fingers through Luis’ long hair with his arm wrapped around the Spaniard’s back, holding him as close as he possibly could.

Luis pulls back after a few minutes with a gasp, a few strings of blood-mixed saliva breaking off from his tongue. “Gracias, Leon.”

Leon hums, then grimaces slightly. “It wouldn’t kill you to be less messy now and then.” Ah, the sheets.

“It just shows that I’m passionate. Besides, you like it.” Luis licks the blood off his lips, which doesn’t do much, before pressing a wet kiss to Leon’s cheek to piss him off. He succeeds by being greeted with a hand in the Spaniard’s face and being pushed away with a scoff.

“Yeah, right.” He sits up and stretches weakly as Luis laughs at him.

“Let me clean you up, Sancho. It’s the least I can do after biting you and such.”

Leon gives a small smile. “Such a gentleman.”

Luis gets out of their bed with a grunt and makes his way to the master bath to get the supplies he needs. He quickly wiped the blood away from his face and returned with bandages and a damp washcloth in hand to clean the bite. Leon is in the same spot as before, the blankets pooled around his waist and his tail curled lazily next to him. Luis crawled back onto the mattress and straddled Leon’s thigh. It took a great amount of restraint to not just clean up the blood himself, but the wound had to get cleaned and bandaged. Sure, werewolves had a higher pain tolerance and were less susceptible to infections, but that doesn’t mean it couldn’t happen.

Luis gently wipes away the blood that had begun to dry on Leon’s shoulder. The slight tension in the werewolf’s muscles tells Luis that it stings, but he chooses not to show it.

Once the blood had been wiped up and the bite wasn’t bleeding as much anymore, Luis placed a bit of gauze over the wound and secured it using medical tape. He glanced over to check to see how Leon was doing and noticed that his eyes were half-lidded like he was falling asleep.

“You tired, ¿cachorrito?” Luis asks as he rubs the bandage affectionately with his thumb. He’s thrilled to feel Leon’s tail twitch in a half-wag knowing how much he pretends to hate the pet name.

“Mm.” Leon yawned, his canines flashing for a second in the early morning sunlight, and tucked his face into the crook of Luis’ neck. He wrapped his arms around the vampire’s slim waist, effectively trapping him there until Leon lets go.

Luis chuckled in the back of his throat and slid his free hand behind Leon’s ear to scratch. The blonde hummed contently, his tail slowly starting to wag.

“Do you want to go back to sleep, ¿mí amor?”

Leon nods into Luis’ shoulder, not giving him another warning before carelessly falling back into the mattress. The Spaniard yelps at the sudden movement. “Ay-! A heads up would be nice, you think?”

Leon scoffs. “Oops.” He rolls himself and Luis onto their sides, manhandling the other creature into a position where they could properly cuddle. In the end, Luis ends up as the little spoon, his senses completely enveloped by Leon. Not that he was complaining. He has the sense to awkwardly reach down and tug the blanket over themselves to the best of his ability. They end up mostly covered, leaving Luis satisfied with his efforts.

“You all settled now, ¿cariño?” Luis teased softly. Leon nods again, and it doesn’t take long for him to be asleep and snoring softly in his partner’s ear.

Luis settled back into Leon’s chest with a sigh. He was hoping he would be able to spend his morning with Leon after eating, but waking up at the first sign of sunlight and getting bitten a few minutes later had knocked the werewolf out completely.

It’s okay though, Luis muses, beginning to finally feel the warmth of Leon’s body seep into his bones.

He would wait however long he needed for Leon to wake again.
