Robin stands atop the pile of rubble, staring breathlessly at the damage caused by trying to neutralize the opponent. Luckily, most of it was abandoned buildings, but it’ll still take a lot of time, energy, and money to fix. He looks to the side where the rest of his team is, explaining to Superman about what had happened and what the four had to do in order to stop the alien’s rampage. Superman seems to be looking at the other three with apprehension, likely about the methods they used in order to take down the alien, but Robin couldn’t care less. He turns his head away, instead busying himself with analyzing the wreckage that lay in front of him.
Robin hears the familiar sound of air shifting to accommodate a speedster, and when he turns to the side, a smiling red-head greets him. Robin allows his face to melt into an adoring smile, turning his entire body to face Impulse’s. The aforementioned boy grabs Robin’s arm, pulling him close.
“May I?” Impulse asks, voice barely above a whisper. Robin leans closer.
“When would I ever say no to you?” Impulse closes the distance between them, smiling into the warm kiss. Robin brings his hand up to Impulse’s cheek, resting their foreheads together when they finally pull apart.
“Are you ready for what’ll happen tomorrow?” Robin asks, concern deepening his voice. Impulse nods.
“They can come at me, bro. I’m always ready to fight the haters.” He lightly jokes. Robin pulls away, his face immediately souring.
“Never say that again.” He playfully demands. Impulse laughs, his movements jittery with unused energy. Robin cocks his head to the side. “Go run, imp. We’ll wait for you.” Impulse doesn’t wait before running off, leaving Robin in his wake. Robin’s smile never wavers, though, love clearly evident on his face.

Impulse lets out a heavy sigh, staring at the clock across the room as he waits for the tim to pass, his leg bouncing uncontrollably. Wonder Girl places a hand on his leg in an attempt to make it stop, sending him a questioning look from her stop beside him. Impulse looks at her pleasingly, as if he’s trying to somehow get her to make the time move faster. She sends him a pitying look, flipping her hand over in an offering. Impulse gives her a small smile and takes her hand, squeezing it with both hands as he stares at Batman and Superman giving some sort of speech about ‘honoring their codes’ and ‘staying within legal limits as much as they can’. Mainly, just assuring the public that they mean no harm and they don’t kill. Even if they’ve been established for nearly two decades, they still have to do a conference like this every few years in an attempt to make the public like them more. As if the public doesn’t already love them.
It makes no sense to Impulse, but he supposes that, once he becomes part of the Justice League, he’ll have to learn about all of it. He looks forward to growing up less and less each day. Can’t he just stay with Young Justice forever? He doesn’t want to have to leave them and it seems stupid that they’ll eventually end up ‘growing out’ of their own team. Insane.
Alas, the time moves just as slowly as it was before and Impulse is getting more jittery (as it seems to always be that case) so he tries to focus on the words they’re saying.
“For all those concerned about the, say, wellness of our younger heroes, I can assure you that they are all well and there’s nothing to be concerned about. Their presence on social media is not monitored, but we will be implementing rules in regards to how they can interact with those on online spaces. We apologize for any rude comments they may have said previously, and we have talked to them about it.” Superman states, much to Impulse’s annoyance. They don’t need ‘monitering’ and that guy deserved it! He was practically asking for a fight. Impulse huffs, and he can see the other three doing similar actions. They will for sure be ‘talking about it’ with their mentors after this.
As the meeting starts to wrap up, the pent up energy gets harder to contain, the need to take a run making itself known. Both Robin and Wonder Girl notice this, sending him worried glances as they wait for the meeting to end.
Finally, after what feels like an eternity, the leaders of the Justice League bid the crowd in front of them a farewell, Impulse nearly bolts out of his seat, immediately running off to at least make living in his skin a little more bearable. He returns after only a few minutes, the crowd still asking questions. Impulse wears a relieved expression, looking at Wonder Girl with so much fondness that he’s sure the other two will make fun of him for later, but he can’t find it within himself to care, instead rushing into Wonder Girl’s arms with a wide smile, not even thinking before he kisses her square on the lips, so much joy and loved captured in that one action.
The sound of outrage explodes behind them, but the two pointedly ignore the looks of exasperation that their mentors send them. It doesn’t take long for them to get tired of the looks and the angry words being thrown at them, so they end up leaving and returning to their apartment (that’s actually Tim’s apartment but they all basically live there full time) where the sounds of disappointment and anger can’t be heard.
They all end up curled around each other that night, sleeping peacefully with the knowledge that they are so close to having their secret be fully out.

The four stand in a spacious room, mats littering the floor with various workout equipment seen in the back. The walls are seemingly made of rocks and everything in view is monogrammed with a bat logo. Superboy stands in the middle, with Wonder Girl and Robin on either side of him. All three of them have matching grins, obviously planning something.
“We are pleased to gather all of you here today to speak out against the slander that the main Justice League has put on us. We are not, contrary to popular belief, ‘out of control’,” Superboy puts that in air quotes, “children. In fact, most of us have jobs and function as adults. This being said, them talking about and to us like we’re 12 is harmful both to our public image and our mental states. We are not babies, most of us never were real babies in the first place, and them making us out as if we are is overall not nice.” Superboy smirks.
“We are perfectly capable of functioning as our own group, separate from the Justice League and their supervision, and we can also make our own decisions on who we befriend and who we date.” Robin glances to the side at Wonder Girl and Superboy.
“Now that we have laid out the premise, we would like to announce that we are, in fact, all four in a happy, loving relationship, and there is nothing wrong with that.” Wonder Girl says, as if she rehearsed it several times before. The sound of air whooshing comes from behind the camera just as Wonder Girl and Robin lean in, both kissing either side of Superboy’s cheek. A gasp can be heard from behind the camera.
“I told you guys to wait for me!” Impulse’s voice sounds from behind, Robin and Wondergirl laughing as Superboy blushes.
