Work Text:

“Hey Blue,” Piper sounded exhausted, even as she nodded to the blue bow that Judy always wore. She slumped against Judy’s desk, head falling onto a case Nick never had the time for, so Judy picked up.
“Piper,” Judy placed Shaun into his cot, the one that rested in her office, and walked over to her partner, wrapping an arm around the journalist’s shoulders.
She hunched forwards, slightly, bright eyes damp with tears, “Nothing.”
“Oh, sweetheart,” Judy hugged Piper fully, moving her over to the armchair where clients usually sat.

Piper had spent every day since her dramatic wakeup trying desperately to find her younger sister, stolen from the vault where they both rested, and her parents died, frozen in a cryogenics chamber.
Judy couldn’t imagine losing Shaun, even though she knew it was more common in the Wastes than she ever wanted to think about.

“Did you speak with Nick?”
Despondently, Piper nodded, Judy feeling the movement rather than hearing it.
Piper had tried nearly every option she possibly could, and nobody had any information as to Nat’s location.
“We’ll find her,” Judy’s voice turned hard, “we will never stop looking.”
“Thanks Blue,” Piper sniffed, but her voice took a sharp edge.
