+ ~ First Light's POV (Current Day Fantashia) ~ +
[Thoughts are in italics + WRITING IS NOT FINAL AND DESCRIPTIONS MAY CHANGE SINCE THIS WILL BE SIGNIFICANTLY LONGER THAN OTHER STORIES OF MINE!!]
Where shapeshifters thrived and elves lived like being chased by a giant dinosaur was the average events of a day in the life of a Fantashian resident, under the deep leftovers and settled dust of the long forgotten mountain that collapsed many, many years ago, a shapeshifter laid dormant. Her hair was a beautiful pale blonde and her skin was fairly light-colored. Her name was First Light, the first ever created shapeshifter on the planet of Fantashia by the Original Elemental Dragons themselves. She had been there for thousands, thousands, and thousands of years, so long that most would've died before they even got comfortable, but not her. First Light wasn't like other shapeshifters in many ways, with one being the fact she could absorb food through her skin like frogs being able to breathe through their skin, in a sort of way. How was she alive, was the question often asked?
The thing? Only she was aware that she was down there. No one else knew of her whereabouts after the notorious Last Night was ended. The unhinged shapeshifter was killed by his own best friend, then First Light fled, and hid away deep in the cavernous debris of a fallen mountain's crumbled rubble. Now, it was simply her and her alone. She had all the time in the world, literally, to consider Last Night's motives and reasons to his hideous actions.
First Light remembered the day she found Last Night over an unfortunate corpse of a shapeshifter. She vividly recalled freezing up and asking what her close friend was doing. Though his answer was vague, it was far from the truth, now that she considered it. Last Night was a little taller than she was, maybe standing at 5'9.6 feet tall while he was alive. He had black hair and dark red eyes, though the red wasn't natural and came from the obsessive use of Soulbane Magic, a deadly, taboo magic that ate away a small portion of the user's soul or spirit every time it was triggered. He and First Light were very dear friends when the former was living, that is, until the incident...
She briefly shifted her leg, testing her strength after years of being inactive. Her leg immediately complained and became sore the second she moved. It was time for her to truly think deeply about her close-knit friend's cause for his impure feats. First Light recollected that Last Night often described her as 'willing to help anyone no matter their origins, skin tone, or things they had done'. She was definitely flattered at the compliment when he'd offered it to her, insisting she wasn't like that. At the time, Last Night had swore the statement was true and didn't let First Light argue any further about it.
But now? He wasn't alive anymore, and it was far too late to go back now...
