Best Applicator

Summary:

Castiel's flirting is very effective. More than Sam is willing to admit to.

Castiel: Sam, my lips are chapped.
Sam: Cas, is this just an excuse to kiss me?
Castiel: No.
Sam: So, if I hand you chapstick...you'll use it?
Castiel: No.
Sam: But if I put in on-
Castiel: I'll use your lips to apply it.
Sam: Which is just you kissing me.
Castiel: Your lips are a great applicator.
Sam: Your lips don't even get that much product that way.
Castiel: Sam, it is the only way to do it.

Notes:

Castiel knows Sam adores them and uses it their fullest advantage as they should!

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Tapping his fingers along the spines of different books, Sam was walking through the different bookshelves trying to find the book he told himself yesterday he wouldn’t need and had put away. But clearly hadn’t put it where he thought he did. 5 AM Sam was the worst Sam for current Sam. He never made any sense.

As Sam scanned for the correct book he was startled by Castiel who was too damn quiet especially when you were focused on something else, “Fuck, Cas. You scared me.” Sam said, stumbling back a little. Castiel of course caught Sam’s arm to steady him and to make sure he didn’t put too much distance between the two.

"Sam, my lips are chapped,” Castiel said. Sam exhaled, he knew how this went. The first time they’d told Sam this, Sam had mistakenly assumed Castiel was asking for chapstick or even vaseline. But nope. Castiel simply handed both items back and looked at Sam expectantly.

Sam leaned against the bookshelf and crossed his arms, “Cas, is this just an excuse to kiss me?” Not that Sam was complaining. He liked kissing Castiel. A lot. Maybe too much if he’s being honest. But that wasn’t the point right now.

“No.” Castiel said, and Sam would believe that if they haven’t done this song and dance so many times before.

Sam reached into his pocket, pulling out his lip balm, “So, if I hand you chapstick you’ll use it?” He asked, holding it out towards his partner who looked past it and right up at Sam.

“No.” He repeated, and Sam figured as much. Because it wasn’t about the chapstick. In fact, Castiel didn’t even have chapped lips. But the last time he pointed that out Castiel purposefully made them chapped so Sam was wrong.

“But if I put it on-”

“I’ll use your lips to apply it.” Castiel confirmed. And despite himself… Sam smiled at Castiel’s honesty. They said it like it was the most obvious thing in the world.

Sam shook his head lightly, “Which is just you kissing me.” He said, and Castiel didn’t deny that. In fact, they got closer to Sam, with their head tilted up. And fuck, Sam wanted to cup their face and kiss them stupid but he had a point to make. Or something like that, it was hard to remember what that was when Castiel looked so kissable.

“Your lips are a great applicator,” Castiel said, and Sam chuckled. Because only Castiel would say something like that. In fact, only Castiel would even think to use Sam’s lips to “apply” chapstick because they like to flirt with Sam like this. Does it work every time? Yes. But that’s because it’s endearing. And Cas.

Sam lifted his hand, and thumbed Castiel’s cheek, “Your lips don’t even get that much product that way.” Castiel shrugged, because they didn’t care. Sam’s lips didn’t even have chapstick on them now, did that stop either of them? No.

“Sam,” Castiel said, leaning further into Sam, “it is the only way to do it.” It definitely was not, but Sam leaned down and captured Castiel’s lips anyway. Both mouths slanted over each other, making out, to really apply and distribute that chapstick. If that chapstick was saliva. And involved tongue.

The book was quickly abandoned. As was the library, and their clothes. Because who needs any of those things when you’re trying to apply chapstick off of your partner's lips? Definitely not them.

Notes:

It's okay Sam, we'll pretend you didn't immediately fold. That you didn't want to immediately kiss your partner and knew exactly what was up. I mean this method is only as effective as Sam lets it be, and it has a 100% success rate. So...
