Subspace T. Mine's POV (Current Day in the Phighting Universe)
[As with all my stories, none of this writing is final and it is subject to change frequently!]
Subspace shredded the peculiar envelope's top off, squinting down at the contents inside: a bright yellow VHS tape with the words 'Vintage Poppy Commercial' written in light blue on the side and a handwritten letter. The scientist used a small burst of telekinesis to shut his office door, ensuring himself complete privacy. I sure don't remember watching VHS tapes recently, let alone ordering anything besides gears and mechanical parts for my Zeta Biografts. Weird. He inspected the horizontally folded document, noticing a spatter of dark red liquid coating the bottom of the scratchy paper. He took a whiff of it, inhaling the lingering scent of the irony blood.
Subspace unstrapped his gas mask, set it on his work desk, and gazed back down at the handwritten document. His toxic, hot pink gas began to slowly seep out from his decaying mouth, slipping between his faintly yellow tinted needle-like teeth as he scanned every angle of the creased letter. The paper was rough, beige-ish colored, and folded multiple times from the top. It seemed like a perfectly normal written message to send, for the most part, not counting the blood. Who the fuck would send me this? Do I know anyone who'd send letters with blood on them?
No, not really. Well shit, thanks for nothing, whoever send this. Wait... there's no return address?! GOD FUCKING DAMN IT!! Curse whoever decided this was a fun prank. Subspace glared at the lack of a return address, which was strange enough as it was, but being paired with a gore-y document and vivid yellow VHS tape? Yeah, no, that reached cryptic a long time ago. Time to put my eye to the test, I guess. Subspace cautiously unfolded the letter, preparing for the worst at this point.
'EVERYONE THINKS THE STAFF DISAPPEARED 10 YEARS AGO
WE'RE STILL HERE.
FIND THE FLOWER'
The handwriting was dark red, in all capital letters, large, and of course, underneath it all, was a scribbled drawing of a decently accurate poppy flower with red crayon creeping past the black lines. The find the flower phrase was ominously underlined in the same chilling color. Wonderful. I'm entering a fucking horror movie. How reassuring. Now, for that godly eye murdering VHS tape... Subspace snapped his clawed fingers and conjured a VHS tape player, which landed on his desk with a dull thunk. He carefully pressed the yellow VHS tape into the device's wide slit with a faint click.
