Months after the circus' meltdown, everyone has settled into their new life, even Caine. But Pomni can't seem to fully move on, no matter how hard she tries.
One day, she and Kinger notice something new about the abstractions: there are shapes in their dark, corrupted bodies. Shapes that aren't random. Pomni can't help but wonder if some part of them is still in there, trying to remember. She can't help but wonder if there's a way to bring them back.
Maybe, just maybe, there's a way to save Jax. If there is, she's going to find it. And she won't let him go this time.
Yes, this is pure copium. The ending made me sad. I liked that abstraction was irreversible, it made it hit harder. But what is the purpose of fanfiction if not to make a happier (or sadder) ending?
