She’s just...been poisoning herself a little.
Not often. Every few days, depending on how long it takes Cass to recover from the prior dose. Her poison of choice ranges anywhere from pills to concentrated insect venoms to household chemicals. It all depends on what she can get her hands on at the time. If she overdoes it even a little bit, she dies, and then everyone will know her shameful secret. This kind of behavior requires the utmost precision.
