Summary
Five years after Earth fell, Chichi has spent the last three years imprisoned in a Kez’sha slave camp.
Her captors took her, chained her body, and implanted a tracking device beneath her skin. What they could not take from her was her patience. Chichi counts footsteps. She memorizes blind spots. She studies every welded seam of her cage and waits for the one mistake her guards will eventually make.
When her escape leads her into the ruins of Ash City, she encounters Kakarott—a Saiyan from a hidden refuge known as the Vale. He is an alien she has not encountered before. She does not trust his motives. And yet, he is the first person in years to fight not against her, but for her.
