Chapter Text
"That was such an exhausting day at work..." you mumbled, rolling your shoulders with the hopes to ease the discomfort after sitting at the office all day.
Holding onto your bag tightly, you looked around the street to see there was barely anyone walking around. It's not a surprise, seeing as it's almost midnight. The dark covers the sky, yet the stars and the moon ensures there's still bits of light to guide you home. Your footsteps can be heard as your foot meets the sidewalk.
You're at least grateful that your apartment building is just a walking distance from the place you work at, it'll be a pain to your wallet to even spend for the commute. Looking forward, your grip tightened onto the bag that's hung on your shoulders to see there's a pole with its lights not working. The sight of the darkened part of the street creeps you, a bit of fear settling inside of you.
You cannot be blamed though, you're just a normal citizen who wishes to live life peacefully "I'll just quickly walk pass," you whisper to yourself as you gathered the courage.
With that, you took a step and started your walk continuously. But then, when you were about to walk pass the dark alleyway, a sound from between the two buildings causes you to halt your steps.
It's a sound of a cat meowing, as if it's in pain. Your eyes flickered to the source of the sound, eyes widening seeing the sight of a man kneeling over the victimized cat. Their hands were hovering over the cat's weakened figure, your brows furrowed seeing glowing colors getting sucked from the cat and onto the hands of the man.
It must be his quirk.
You doubt it's anything good, seeing as how the cat is mewling in pain.
"Hey!" you couldn't help your voice.
'Fuck, why can't I just mind my own business?' you thought to yourself in frustration.
But it was too late now.
The man's head raised quickly to your figure, you couldn't see his face clearly but you saw how his eyes darkened at the fact that he just got caught.
"Stay away from that cat, or else I'll call the heroes near!" you were obviously bluffing, and was only hoping that he's not aware of how empty the streets are.
He laughs loudly "You're bold..." you flinched at the sound of his deep voice, a voice that's filled with malice "And a liar. I was sure to choose a place without many people,"
You cursed inside your head 'Shit! He knows,' your hands were trembling as you held onto your bag, hoping to get ahold of yourself with it and not trip from fear.
Grumbling, you spoke once again "Just what do you think you're doing to that poor thing, huh?!" you yelled, you hoped that someone will hear you. But to your dismay, it seems that there's no one else to catch this guy.
"None of your business, lady! But... since you're here, might as well make you my next victim."
Your heart dropped at his words, and before you could turn and save yourself, he was quick to run towards you. And you couldn't give a distance between yourself and the man, you're wearing heels for fuck's sake, you just wanted to go home from your job, you're just a civilian!
That's why he was quick to catch you.
The moment when he was near you, you couldn't dodge his hand that went up to your face, covering your whole head. You fell back, landing on your back and yet he didn't let go of your face. You tried to pry his hands off of you, holding onto his wrist to try and pull it off. But his grip was strong.
Next thing you know, the familiar glow that you saw from earlier starts once again. Your eyes closed in fear, wondering what he's about to do to you.
'Am I... going to die?!'
Before you now it, you start to feel your body tremble, as if you were out of control of your own body. He finally lets go of your face, looking down at you whose body starts to shrink and fur starts to protrude from your skin.
"Arrrgh!" you were in pain, you didn't know what's happening to you.
Your eyes squints to look up at the man before you, you still couldn't see his whole face, even though you were a bit set to remember it and tell the police about him.
That's if you're not going to die.
"The essence I sucked from the cat earlier was a lot, so it'll take you about nearly a week to get your true form back" he spoke once again.
Your brows furrowed, you couldn't speak while your body continues to lose control. With that, you lost consciousness. Your eyes closed and the dark void behind your eyelids starts to swallow you whole, while you did feel your body slowly stop trembling, a heavy exhaustion hits your body.
The last thing you could think to yourself was, 'My... form?'
The villain looks down on his success, while he didn't mean to choose his victim so soon and randomly, he thought you were still a good choice.
'This is why we should learn to mind our own business,' he thought to himself before keeling down before you.
You've turned into a calico cat, similar appearance to the one he victimized earlier.
He reaches onto the clothes that you wore earlier, picking them up and a swell as your bag. He rummages through it, smiling to himself at the sight of the wallet.
"I'll take these, a thanks for the bit of a trouble you gave me... and I'll also take your clothes, makes it less known that you're actually human" he was evilly laughing to himself as he stood up. Both with your clothes and your bag in his hand as he leaves your cold state on the floor.

Eraserhead thinks back onto the folder he was given to earlier, the information of a man that's supposed to be causing a ruckus every night. While this villain doesn't really harm the people by hurting them, he transforms them into animals which can cause a panic to the victim and possible trauma.
Who knows what could happen to the victim while they're in that certain form. That's why Eraserhead is given the mission to capture that villain, if other heroes are assigned with the task, they could be turned into animals themselves. With Eraserhead, he can avoid being used against the villain's quirk.
'I wanna sleep...' the hero thought to himself, grumbling in annoyance.
The hero is watching over the city, eyes scanning the place in hopes he'll catch the villain. From his investigation, the villain has a pattern in choosing his victims. There's the residential district, the train station, and the public park, the villain often chooses one victim in the first location, then goes to the next location in the next night for another victim.
All the hero has to do was guess where he'll be next. Last time, his victim was found at the public park which means he'll either be in the residential district or at the public park.
Eraserhead jumps from building to another, he continues to do so until he reaches the well-known park at the area. To his disappointment though, there's no one there. No animals, no civilians out at night, and most importantly, no villain.
Sighing deeply "I'll check the residential district..."
With that, he was quick to leave the place and moved to the area where convenience stores and apartment buildings were usually situated, jumping from one rooftop to another until he arrived the destination.
Eraserhead worries that maybe he's too late, or maybe too earlier? He hasn't investigated as to what specific time the villain usually strikes, which is why he's currently left in the shade. But as the hero was about to leave the scene, the sight of a sleeping cat on the sidewalk catches his eyes.
Tilting his head as he stares from the stop of a building before he nears the cat's state, it was sleeping peacefully with its chest heaving. He was amused of its relaxed state, even a bit jealous of how the cat is sleeping, he wants to sleep as well.
His hand goes to pet the cat, its tricolor easily impressing his eyes, along with the feeling of the cat's soft fur. He watches as the cat doesn't rouse awake from his pets, instead it goes and leans into the man's touches.
"This is a bad place to nap," he speaks to the cat.
He looks around while wondering if the cat has an owner, yet he thinks that it doesn't seeing as it does not have a collar with the name of its owner and a number. Slowly, he picks up the cat the cat close to his chest, careful to make sure it doesn't wake up and feel unstable.
Eraserhead was hoping to just move it someplace else, where the cat won't be stepped onto while its napping on the sidewalk. But looking down, he notices how it curls to his against his scarf, he watches while the cat's palm stretches and starts to hold onto his capture weapon with its claws.
With that, the hero just lets out a sigh "You're quite comfortable," was all he says before he starts walking, but with the cat... you, still in his arms.
